Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the
1500’s.
August 22, 2020 - in the 21
Century
August -- Augustus Caesar's month
Latin Augustus "Augustus"
Latin Augustus mensis "month of Augustus"
Latin sextilis mensis "sixth month"
Sextilis had
30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it
became 31 days long.
Augustus
Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the
process, he also renamed this month after himself.
Yehovah God has His own calendar, which is deleted from the world
We are now in the 6th month of God called Elul, day 2
Neh.6
[15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day
of the month Elul , אֱלוּל in fifty and two days
Neh.7 [73] So the
priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the
people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in
their cities; and when the
seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

Full chapters pertaining to the 6th
month, Elul below:
[1] And it came to pass in the sixth
year, in the sixth month, in the
fifth day of the month,
As I sat in
mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that
the hand of the Lord Yehovah fell there upon me.
[2] Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as
the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire;
and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the color
of amber.
[3] And he put forth the form of
an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up
between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to
Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looks toward the north; where was
the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.
[4] And, behold, the glory of
the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.
[5] Then said He unto me, Son of man,
lift up your eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the
way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image
of jealousy in the entry.
[6] He said furthermore unto me,
Son of man, see you what they do,
even the great abominations that the house of
Israel commits here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary?
But turn you
yet again, and you shall see greater abominations.
[7] And he brought me to the door of
the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the
wall.
[8] Then said he unto me, Son of
man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in
the wall, behold a door.
[9] And he said unto me, Go in,
and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
[10] So I went in and saw; and
behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols
of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about.
[11] And there stood before them
seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them
stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan,
with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
[12] Then said He unto me, Son of man,
hast you seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every
man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, Yehovah sees us not; Yehovah hath
forsaken the earth.
[13] He said also unto me, Turn you
yet again, and you shall see greater abominations that they do.
[14] Then He brought me to the
door of the gate of Yehovah's house which was toward
the north; and, behold, there sat women
weeping for Tammuz.
[15] Then said he unto me, have you
seen this, O son of man?
Turn you
yet again, and you shall see greater abominations than these.
[16] And He brought me into the inner
court of Yehovah's house, and, behold, at the door of
the temple of Yehovah, between the porch and the
altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of Yehovah, and their faces toward the east; and they
worshipped the sun toward the east.
[17] Then He said unto me, have you
seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they
commit the abominations which they commit here?
For they
have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger:
and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
[18] Therefore will I also deal
in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they
cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
[1] In the second year of Darius the
king, in the sixth
month, in the first day of the month,
came the word of Yehovah
by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying:
[2] Thus speaks Yehovah
of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not
come, the time that Yehovah's house should be built.
[3] Then came the word of Yehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,
[4] Is it time for you, O you,
to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie
waste?
Ceiled = סָפַן sâphan
- A primitive root; to hide
by covering; specifically to roof – to cover with boards…
[5] Now therefore thus says Yehovah of hosts; consider your ways.
[6] Ye have sown much, and bring
in little; you eat, but you have not enough; you drink, but you are not filled
with drink; you clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earns wages
earns wages to put it into a bag with holes.
[7] Thus says Yehovah of hosts; consider your ways.
[8] Go up to the mountain, and bring
wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be
glorified, says Yehovah.
[9] Ye looked for much, and, lo,
it came too little; and when you brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? says Yehovah of hosts. Because of
mine house that is waste, and you run every man unto his own house.
[10] Therefore the heaven over
you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
[11] And I called for a drought
upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new
wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground brings forth, and upon
men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labor of the hands.
[12] Then Zerubbabel
the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the
people, obeyed the voice of Yehovah their God, and
the words of Haggai the prophet, as Yehovah their God
had sent him, and the people did fear before Yehovah.
[13] Then spoke Haggai Yehovah's messenger in Yehovah's
message unto the people, saying, I am with you, says Yehovah.
[14] And Yehovah
stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the
son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of
all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of Yehovah of hosts, their God,
[15] In the four and twentieth day of
the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
Today’s Topic:
The stone which the builders disallowed,
rejected - Messiah
[1] Wherefore
laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all
evil speakings,
[2] As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may
grow thereby:
[3] If so be ye have tasted that
the Lord is gracious.
[4] To whom coming, as unto a
living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
[5] Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Yeshua the Messiah.
[6] Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious:
and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. (To be ashamed)
Back to 1 Peter
[7] Unto you therefore which
believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders
disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
[8] And a stone of stumbling, and a rock
of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient:
whereunto also they were appointed.
[9] But ye are a chosen
generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye
should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into
his marvelous light:
[10] Which in time past were not
a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now
have obtained mercy.
[11] Dearly beloved, I beseech
you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against
the soul;
[12] Having your conversation
honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers,
they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of
visitation.
[13] Submit yourselves to every
ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
[14] Or unto governors, as unto
them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise
of them that do well.
[15] For so is the will of God,
that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
[16] As free, and not using your
liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the
servants of God.
[17] Honor all men. Love the
brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
[18] Servants, be subject to
your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
[19] For this is thankworthy, if
a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
[20] For what glory is it, if,
when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? But if, when
ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with
God.
[21] For even hereunto were ye
called: because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye
should follow his steps:
[22] Who did no sin, neither was
guile found in his mouth:
[23] Who, when he was reviled,
reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself
to him that judges righteously:
[24] Who his own self bare our
sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto
righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
[25] For ye were as sheep going
astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
