Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the
1500’s,
Today is December
26, 2020 in the 21th century
December -- the tenth month - now it is the 12th month J
Middle English decembre
Old French decembre
Latin december "tenth month"
Latin decem "ten" + -ber (adj. suffix)
December had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.
Counting today, 6 days left for this year of
2020 to end
Yehovah God has His own calendar, which is deleted from the world
We are now in the tenth month called Teveth or Tevet, day 10
Esth.2 [16] So Esther
was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. טֵבֵת

Next another made up day: We have the Gregorian New Year in
January 2021 - cold, most
vegetation, flowers, trees are dead.
God’s New Year is in the
Spring - warm, all is coming alive again.
Exod.12
[1] And Yehovah spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of
Egypt, saying,
[2] This month shall be unto you the beginning of
months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
Exod.13
[3] And
Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which you came out from
Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand, Yehovah brought you out from this place: there
shall no leavened bread be eaten.[4] This
day came you out in the month Abib - ha aviv (the new newness of the barley harvest - green, that is a young ear of barley)
Today’s Topic
This is the season of covetousness
What did you get me?... I want… You can still get me… How much did you spend on
me?
Let’s be content in God
חָמַד
Covet,
Desire (in a bad way) - châmad: A primitive root; to delight in, a delectable thing, desire, lust after…
Let’s start with the 10th Commandment:
Exod. 20
[17] you shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his
maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.
Deut.5
[21] neither shall you desire your neighbor’s wife, neither shall you covet your neighbor’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox,
or his ass, or anything that
is your neighbor’s.
A brief description of how our
testimony should be:
John 12
[35] … Yeshua said unto
them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while
ye have the light, lest
darkness come upon you: for he that walks in darkness knows not whither he goes. [36] while you have light,
believe in the light, that you may be the children of light.
Eph.5
[8] For you were sometimes darkness,
but now are you light in the Lord: walk
as children of light: [9] (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness
and righteousness and truth ;) [10] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
[6] Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch
and be sober.
[7] For they that sleep, sleep in the
night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
[8] But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the
breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
[9] For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Yeshua the Messiah,[10] Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep (are dead),
we should live together with him.
Rom.12
[17] Recompense to no man
evil for evil. Provide
things honest in the sight of all men.
Rom.13
[13] Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and
drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. [14] But put you on the Lord Yeshua the Messiah,
and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.
2Cor.8
[21] …providing for
honest things, not only in the sight of the
Lord, but also in the sight of men.
2 Cor.13
[7] now I
pray to God that you do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that you should do that which is honest…
1 Thes.4
[12] [11] …that ye study to be quiet, and to
do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; that you may walk honestly toward them that
are without, and that you may have lack of nothing.
1 Tim.2
[1] I exhort therefore,
that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of
thanks, be made for all men;[2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life
in all godliness and honesty.
[3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
[4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Heb.13
[18] Pray for us: for we
trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
1Pet.2
[12] having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers,
they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of
visitation.
Col.4
[5] Walk in wisdom toward
them that are without (God), redeeming the time. [6] Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you
may know how you ought to answer every man.
1 Thes. 4
[9] but as touching brotherly love you need not
that I write unto you: for you are taught of God to love one another.
[10] And indeed you do it toward
all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that
you increase more and more;
[11] And that you study to be
quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as
we commanded you;
[12] That you may walk honestly toward them that are without (God), and that you may have lack of nothing.
Watch out for covetousness:
Hebrew:
בֶּצַע
Besta
Greek:
Πλεονεξία – pleonexia - pleh-on-ex-ee'-ah
Covetousness: fraudulency, extortion, greediness, gain (usually
unjust): - (dishonest) lucre, profit.
Pss.119
[36]
Incline my heart unto your testimonies, and not to covetousness.
Prov.28
[16] The prince that wants understanding is also a great oppressor:
but he that hates covetousness shall prolong his days.
Pss.10
[3] For the wicked boasts of his heart's desire, and blesses the covetous, whom Yehovah abhors. Hates
Prov.21
[26] He coveters greedily all the day long: but the righteous gives and spares not.
1 Tim. 3
[3] Not given to wine, no
striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
Eph.5
[1]
Be you therefore followers of God, as dear children;
[2] And walk in love, as Messiah
also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice
to God for a sweet smelling savor.
[3]
But fornication,
and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once
named among you, as becomes saints;
[4]
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient:
but rather giving of thanks.
[5]
For this you know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any
inheritance in the kingdom of Messiah and of God.
1Thes.2
[1]
For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in
vain:
[2] But even after that we had
suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as you know, at Philippi, we
were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
[3] For our exhortation was not
of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
[4] But as we were allowed of
God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men,
but God, which tries our
hearts.
[5] For neither at any time used we
flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness; God is witness:
[6] Nor of men sought we glory,
neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the
apostles of Messiah.
2Tim.3
[1]
This know also,
that in the last days perilous times shall come.
[2] For men shall be lovers of
their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to
parents, unthankful, unholy,
[3] Without natural affection,
trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are
good,
[4] Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
[5] Having a form of godliness,
but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Pet.2
[1] …there were false prophets also
among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the
Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
[2] And many shall follow their
pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth
shall be evil spoken of.
[3] And through covetousness shall they with feigned (un-genuine) words make merchandise of you: whose
judgment now of a long time lingers not,
and their damnation slumbers not.
[9] Yehovah knows how to
deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of
judgment to be punished:
[10] But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of
uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, self willed, they
are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
[11] Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring
not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
[12] But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and
destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly
perish in their own corruption;
[13] And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they
that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes,
sporting themselves with their own deceivings while
they feast with you;
[14]
Having eyes full of adultery and
that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: a heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
[15] Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone
astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor,
who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
[16] But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking
with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
1Tim.6
[1]
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of
all honor, that
the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
[2]
And they that have believing
masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but
rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the
benefit. These things teach and exhort.
[3]
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words
of our Lord Yeshua the
Messiah, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
[4] He is proud, knowing
nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife,
railings, evil surmisings,
[5] Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute
of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
[6] But godliness with
contentment is great gain.
[7] For we brought nothing
into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
[8] And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
[9] But
they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish
and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.[10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which
while some coveted after, they
have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
[11] But you, O man of God,
flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love,
patience, meekness.
[12] Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto you are
also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
[13] I give you charge in the sight of God, who quickens all things, and before Messiah Yeshua, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
[14] That you keep this
commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah:
[15] Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and
Lord of lords;
[16] Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach
unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.
[17] Charge them that are rich in this world, that
they be not high minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;
[18] That they do good, that
they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;[19] Laying up in store for themselves
a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal
life.
[20] O Timothy, keep that
which is committed to your trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science
falsely so called:[21] Which some professing have erred concerning the faith.
Grace be with
you. Amen.
Heb.13
[1]
Let brotherly love continue. (And sisters)
[2] Be not forgetful to
entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
[3] Remember them that are in
bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
[4] Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but
whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
[5] Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for He hath said, I will never leave you, nor
forsake you.
[6] So that we may boldly
say, Yehovah is my helper, and I will not fear what man
shall do unto me.
[7] Remember
them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the
word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
[8] Yeshua the Messiah the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.
[9] Be not carried about
with divers and strange doctrines.
For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats,
which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
[10]
We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
[11]
For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by
the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
[12] Wherefore Yeshua also, that he might sanctify the people
with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
[13]
Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
[14] For here have we no
continuing city, but we seek one to come.
[15] By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually,
that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
[16] But to do good and
to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
[17] Obey
them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they
watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with
joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
[18] Pray for us: for we trust
we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
[19]
But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the
sooner.
[20]
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that
great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
[21] Make you perfect in every
good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Yeshua the Messiah; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
[22]
And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written
a letter unto you in few words.
[23] Know you that our brother Timothy is set at
liberty; with whom, if he comes shortly, I will see you.
[24] Salute all them that have
the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.
[25] Grace be with
you all. Amen.
3 John 1
[1]
The elder unto the well beloved Gaius,
whom I love in the truth.
[2] Beloved, I wish above
all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
[3]
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that
is in you, even as you walk in
the truth.
[4] I have no greater joy than
to hear that my children walk in truth.
[5] Beloved, you doest faithfully
whatsoever you doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
[6]
Which have borne witness of your charity before the church: whom if you bring
forward on their journey after a godly sort, you shall do well:
[7]
Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.
[8]
We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers to the truth.
[9]
I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among
them, receives us
not.
[10] Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he
doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith,
neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbids them that would, and casts them out of the church.
[11] Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good.
He that doeth good is of God: but he that
doeth evil hath not seen God.
[12]
Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we
also bear record; and you know that our record is true.
[13]
I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto you:
[14] But I trust I shall shortly
see you, and we shall speak face to face.
Peace be to you.
Our friends salute you. Greet the friends by name.
Luke.12
[15] And Yeshua said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's or woman’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which
he or she possesses.
Inclosing for today:
Psalm 1
[1] Blessed is the
man / woman that walks not in
the counsel of the ungodly [2] But his delight is in the law of Yehovah; and in His law doth he meditate day and night.
[3] And he shall be like a tree
planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his
leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth
shall prosper.
[4] The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives
away, [5] therefore the ungodly
shall not stand in the judgment or sinners in the congregation of the
righteous.
[6] For Yehovah
knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Always remember:
Prov.23 [6] Eat
you not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire you his dainty meats:
[7] For as he thinks in
his heart, so is he: Eat and
drink, says he
to you; but his heart is not with you.
[8] The morsel which you hast eaten shall you vomit up, and lose your sweet words.
Watch out where you are getting counsel and where you are going…
Always get Godly counsel and advice.
