We are
instructed:
Eph.4 [22]
That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is
corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;[23] And be renewed in the spirit of
your mind;
[24] And that ye put on the new
man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
[25] Wherefore putting away
lying, speak every man / woman truth with his
neighbor: for we are members one of another.
[26] Be ye angry, and sin not:
let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
[27] neither
give place to the devil.
[28]
Let him her that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with
his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.
[29] Let no corrupt
communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of
edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
[30] And grieve not the Holy
Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
[31] Let all bitterness, and
wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all
malice:
[32] And be ye kind one to
another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Messiah's sake
hath forgiven you.
Eph.5 [11] And have no fellowship with the
unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove
them [12] For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done
of them in secret.
1Cor.10 [20] But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and, I would not that you should
have fellowship with devils.
"Witchcraft is a sin"
חַטַּאת־ קֶסֶם
1Sam.15 [23]
For rebellion is as the
sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you hast rejected the word of Yehovah, he hath also rejected you from being king.
Rebellion - bitterness, rebellious against God
Stubbornness
- firmly adhering to one's purpose,
opinion, etc.; not yielding to argument, persuasion, or entreaty. characterized by inflexible
persistence or an unyielding attitude; inflexibly persisted in or carried out: obstinate advocacy, Not easily controlled…
2Chr.33 [6] And he (Manasseh) caused
his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times,
and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit,
and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of Yehovah, to provoke him to anger.
Brother Saul says:
Gal.5 [19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;
Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,[20] Idolatry, witchcraft,
hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,[21] Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of
the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they
which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Witchcrafts - magic: - sorcery
Exod.22 [18] you shall not suffer a witch to live.
On certain pagan holidays
why would you dress your sweet daughter like a
witch, a sin?
You shall not learn
Deut. 18:[9] When
you art come into the land which Yehovah your God giveth you, you shall not
learn to do after the abominations of those nations.[10] There
shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass
through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an
enchanter, or a witch,[11] Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits,
or a wizard, or a necromancer.
[12] For all that do these things are an abomination
unto Yehovah: and
because of these abominations Yehovah your God doth drive them out from before you.
Josh.13 [22] Balaam also the son of Beor,
the soothsayer,
did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by
them.
At Daniel time:
Dan.2 [27] Daniel answered in the presence of the king,
and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians,
the soothsayers, show
unto the king…
Dan.4 [7] Then came in the
magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the
interpretation thereof.
Dan.5 [7] The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king
spoke, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing,
and shows me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and
have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the
kingdom.
[11] There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the
holy gods; and in the days of your father light and understanding and wisdom,
like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar
your father, the king, I say, your father, made master of the magicians, astrologers,
Chaldeans, and soothsayers…
Mic.5 [12] And I will cut off witchcrafts out of your hand; and you shall have no more
soothsayers:
2Kgs.9 [22] And it came to pass, when Joram
saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What
peace, so long as the whoredoms of your mother
Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
Mic.5 [12] And I will cut
off witchcrafts out of your hand; and
you shall have no more soothsayers…
Nah.3 [4]
Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the
well-favored harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that sells nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
Sorceries & Sorcery
Isa.47 [9]
But these two things shall come to you in a moment in
one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon you in their
perfection for the multitude of your sorceries,
and for the great abundance of your enchantments.
12]
Stand now with your enchantments, and with the multitude of your
sorceries, wherein you hast labored from
your youth; if so be you shall be able to profit, if so be you may prevail.
Rev.9 [20] And the rest of the men which were
not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of
gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21] Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of
their thefts.
Rev.18
[1] And after these things I saw
another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was
lightened with his glory.
[2]
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon
the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the
hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
[3] For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
[4] And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
[5] For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath
remembered her iniquities.
[6] Reward her even as she
rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup
which she hath filled fill to her double.
[7] How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so
much torment and sorrow give her: for she said in her heart, I sit a queen, and
am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
[8] Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and
mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is
the Lord God who judges her.
[9] And the kings of the earth,
who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail
her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,[10] Standing afar off for the fear of
her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For
in one hour is your judgment come.
[11] And the merchants of the
earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth
their merchandise any more:
[12] The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and
of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all
manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
[13] And cinnamon, and odors, and
ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and
beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
[14] And the fruits that your soul lusted after are departed from
you, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from you, and you
shall find them no more at all.
[15] The merchants of these
things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her
torment, weeping and wailing,
[16] And saying, Alas, alas, that great city,
that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold,
and precious stones, and pearls!
[17] For in one hour so great riches is come to naught. And every
shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by
sea, stood afar off,
[18] And cried when they saw the
smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
[19] And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and
wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that
had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for
in one hour is she made desolate.
[20] Rejoice over her, you heaven, and ye holy apostles and
prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
[21] And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
22] And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in you; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in you; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in you;
[23] And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in you; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in you: for your merchants were the great men of the earth; for by your sorceries were all nations deceived.
[24] And in her
was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon
the earth.
Acts
Acts.13[6]
And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos,
they found a certain
sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus:[7] Which was with the deputy of the
country, Sergius Paulus, a
prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of
God.
[8] But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by
interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
[9] Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy
Ghost, set his eyes on him,
[10] And said, O full of all subtilty and all
mischief, you child of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness,
wilt you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
[11] And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be
blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a
mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to
lead him by the hand.
[12] Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being
astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
The dead can't hear you!
Lev.21 [1] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of
Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people…
Num.6 [11] And the priest
shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and
make an atonement for him, for that he sinned by the dead, and shall
hallow his head that same day.
Num.9 [6] And there were
certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could
not keep the passover on that day: and they came
before Moses and before Aaron on that day [7] And those men said unto
him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept
back, that we may not offer an offering of Yehovah in
his appointed season among the children of Israel?
Ecclesiastes 9 [5] For the living know
that they shall die: but the dead know not anything,
neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.[6] Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is
now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever
in any thing that is done under the sun.
The Maccabees are not scriptural, you can't pray
to or for the dead (like Catholics)
2 Maccabees 12: 43
And making a gathering, he sent twelve thousand drachms of silver to Jerusalem
for sacrifice to be offered for the sins of the
dead, thinking well and religiously concerning the resurrection,
44
(For if he had not hoped that they that were slain should rise again, it would
have seemed superfluous and vain to pray for the dead,)
45
And because he considered that they who had fallen
asleep with godliness, had great grace laid up for them.
46
It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they
may be loosed from sins.
Assyria - Mic.5 [12] And I will cut off witchcrafts out of your hand; and you shall
have no more soothsayers:[13] Thy graven images also will I
cut off, and your standing images out of the midst of you; and you shall no
more worship the work of your hands.
[14] And I will pluck up your groves out of the midst of you: so will I
destroy your cities.
[15] And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen,
such as they have not heard.
Nah.1[1] The burden of Nineveh
( capital of the ancient kingdom of Assyria )
Nah.3 [4] Because of the multitude of
the whoredoms of the well-favored harlot, the
mistress of witchcrafts, that sells nations through her whoredoms,
and families through her witchcrafts.
2Kgs.9 [22] and it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, is it peace, Jehu? And he
answered, what peace, so long as the whoredoms of
your mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts
are so many?
Bewitched
Acts.8 [9] But there was a certain man, called Simon,
which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched
the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:[10]
To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is
the great power of God.
[11] And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had
bewitched them with sorceries.
[12] But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the
kingdom of God, and the name of Yeshua the Messiah,
they were baptized, both men and women.
[13] Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he
continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which
were done.
[14] Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria
had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
[15] Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might
receive the Holy Ghost:
[16] (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were
baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
[17] Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy
Ghost.
[18] And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands
the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
[19] Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he
may receive the Holy Ghost.
[20] But Peter said unto him, your money perishes with you, because you
hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
[21] Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for your heart is
not right in the sight of God.
[22] Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps
the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
[23] For I perceive that you art in the gall
of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
[24] Then answered Simon, and said, Pray you to the Lord for me, that
none of these things which you have spoken come upon me.
Gal.3 [1]
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that you should not obey the truth, before
whose eyes Yeshua the Messiah hath been evidently set
forth, crucified among you?
What about Astrology? NO!
Astrology - The study of the movements and relative
positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human
affairs and the natural world.
Remember: Astrology is not
Astronomy: the branch of science which deals with celestial objects, space, and the
physical universe as a whole.
Eye of Horus, any potions, chanting, magical charms, beads, crystal ball
readings – No!
Saul said:
2Cor.11 [13]
Watch for - false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the
apostles of Messiah.[14] And no marvel;
for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.[15] Therefore it is no great thing if Satan’s
ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end
shall be according to their works.
Inclosing for today:
Eph.6 [10] Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the
power of His might.[11] Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand
against the wiles
of the devil.
Wiles - Traveling over, that is, travesty, (trickery): -, lie in wait.
[12] For we wrestle
not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places.
Principalities - chief (in various applications of order, time, place or rank…
Powers - (in the sense of ability); privilege, force, capacity, competency (objectively) mastery (superhuman, potentate, token of control), delegated influence: - authority in jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength.
Rulers of the darkness - world ruler, an epithet of Satan
Spiritual
– (supernatural),
wickedness
(malice; plots sins - iniquity) in
High places - celestial, in the heavens
[13] Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God,
that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all,
to stand.
[14] Stand
therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the
breastplate of righteousness;
[15] And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;
[16] Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
[17] And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
[18] Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints…
