One in Messiah Congregation
Our God shall come וּבָא יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי, Why do we never hear from Rabbinical teachings that the Lord Is Coming? The Bible indicates that there are two comings of Messiah. In this reading, we will mainly focus on His first coming. Let's read the scriptures and see.
Pss.50[3] Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence:
Isa.26[21] For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants
of the earth for their iniquity:
Isa.13[10] For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall
not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the
moon shall not cause her light to shine.[11] And I will punish the world for
their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy
of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.[12]
I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden
wedge of Ophir.[13] Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall
remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day
of his fierce anger.
Isa.24[21] And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish
the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon
the earth.
Isa.26[21] For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants
of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and
shall no more cover her slain.
Mic.1[3] For, behold, the LORD cometh forth out of his place, and will come
down, and tread upon the high places of the earth.
Zech.14:[5] And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley
of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled
from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD
my God shall come, and
all the saints with thee.
Dan.7[9] I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days
did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the
pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
[10] A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands
ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him:
the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
[11] I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn
spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and
given to the burning flame.
[12] As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken
away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
[13] I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came
with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought
him near before him.[14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a
kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion
is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that
which shall not be destroyed.
[14] And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all
people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting
dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be
destroyed.
Rev.20[12] And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the
books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life:
and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books,
according to their works.
Sample of His First coming - Isa.40[9] O Zion, that bringest good
tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good
tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto
the cities of Judah, Behold your God![10] Behold, the Lord GOD will come with
strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him,
and his work before him.[11] He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall
gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently
lead those that are with young.
Isa.11[1] And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and
a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
[10] And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for
an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall
be glorious.
Rom.15[12] And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and
he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
1Cor.4[5] Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come,
Jude.1[14] And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying,
Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Matt.24[3] And as he, Yeshua sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples
came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what
shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Matt.24[30] And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son
of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
[44] Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the
Son of man cometh.
Matt.25[13] Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein
the Son of man cometh.
Mark.13[26] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds
with great power and glory.
Luke.12[40] Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an
hour when ye think not.
Luke.18[8] I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when
the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Luke.21[27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with
power and great glory.
Acts.319] Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted
out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;[20]
And He ( God ) shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:[21]
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things,
which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world
began.
1Thes.4[15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which
are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which
are asleep.
Jas.5[7] Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold,
the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience
for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. [8] Be ye also patient;
stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
1Thes.4[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever
be with the Lord.
Rev.1[7] Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see Him, and
they also which pierced Him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because
of Him. Even so, Amen.
Rev.22[20] He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly.
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Isa.65[17] For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former
shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Isa.66[22] For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make,
shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
2Pet.3
[1] This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I
stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
[2] That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the
holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
[3] Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers,
walking after their own lusts,
[4] And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers
fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
[5] For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the
heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
[6] Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
[7] But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept
in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly
men.
[8] But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with
the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
[9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that
all should come to repentance.
[10] But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which
the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt
with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned
up.
[11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of
persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein
the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with
fervent heat?
[13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and
a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
[14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent
that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
[15] And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as
our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written
unto you;
[16] As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which
are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable
wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
[17] Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest
ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
[18] But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
Rev.21[1] And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and
the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Isa.34[4] And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens
shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as
the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.
1Thes.4
[1] Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord
Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God,
so ye would abound more and more.
[2] For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
[3] For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should
abstain from fornication:
[4] That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification
and honour;
[5] Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not
God:
[6] That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because
that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and
testified.
[7] For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
[8] He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also
given unto us his holy Spirit.
[9] But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for
ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
[10] And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia:
but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
[11] And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to
work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
[12] That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye
may have lack of nothing.
[13] But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them
which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
[14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also
which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
[15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are
alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are
asleep.
[16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the
voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall
rise first:
[17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with
the Lord.
[18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
1Thes.5
[1] But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write
unto you.
[2] For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as
a thief in the night.
[3] For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh
upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
[4] But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake
you as a thief.
[5] Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are
not of the night, nor of darkness.
[6] Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
[7] For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are
drunken in the night.
[8] But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate
of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
[9] For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our
Lord Jesus Christ,
[10] Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together
with him.
[11] Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even
as also ye do.
[12] And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you,
and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
[13] And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be
at peace among yourselves.
[14] Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the
feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
[15] See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that
which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
[16] Rejoice evermore.
[17] Pray without ceasing.
[18] In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
concerning you.
[19] Quench not the Spirit.
[20] Despise not prophesyings.
[21] Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
[22] Abstain from all appearance of evil.
[23] And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your
whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our
Lord Jesus Christ.
[24] Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
[25] Brethren, pray for us.
[26] Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
[27] I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy
brethren.
[28] The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
2Thes.2
[1] Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,
and by our gathering together unto him,
[2] That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit,
nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
[3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except
there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of
perdition;
[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that
is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself
that he is God.
[5] Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
[6] And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
[7] For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth
will let, until he be taken out of the way.
[8] And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume
with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his
coming:
[9] Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power
and signs and lying wonders,
[10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
[11] And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should
believe a lie:
[12] That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure
in unrighteousness.
[13] But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved
of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through
sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
[14] Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[15] Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have
been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
[16] Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which
hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through
grace,
[17] Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
Isa.2[12] For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that
is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought
low:

hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD

of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

[20] Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very
dark, and no brightness in it?

the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his
guests.
[8] And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I
will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed
with strange apparel.
[14] The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly,
even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
[18] Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in
the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire
of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that
dwell in the land.
Zeph.2[2] Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff,
before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD's
anger come upon you.
[3] Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment;
seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of
the LORD's anger.

as a thief in the night.

shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein
