Are you distracted, cumbered or watching, praying
and ready?
watch for snars, temptations
Luke.10[38] Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain
village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
[39] And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at
Jesus' feet, and heard his word.[40] But Martha was cumbered
about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care
that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help
me.[41] And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful
and troubled about many things:[42] But one thing is needful: and Mary hath
chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
cumbered: To weigh down; burden: was cumbered with many duties. To hamper
or hinder, as by being in the way: something stopping you, To litter; clutter
up:to draw around, to draw away, distract, to be driven about mentally, to
be distracted, to be over-occupied, too busy, about a thing
Pss.88[15] I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer
thy terrors I am distracted.

1Cor.7[35] And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare
upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the
Lord without distraction.
Matt.24[44] Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think
not the Son of man cometh.
[50] The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not
for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
Luke.12[40] Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at
an hour when ye think not.
[46] The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not
for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and
will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
Luke.21[34] And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts
be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life,
and so that day come upon you unawares.[35] For as a snare shall it come on
all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.[36] Watch ye therefore,
and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things
that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
snare: a trap, a trick or stratagem, a temptation
surfeiting:: To feed or supply to excess, satiety, disgust, To overindulge
Matt.26[41] Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the
spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Mark.13[33] Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time
is.
Mark.14[33] And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to
be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;[34] And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding
sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.[35]
And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it
were possible, the hour might pass from him.[36] And he said, Abba, Father,
all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless
not what I will, but what thou wilt.[37] And he cometh, and findeth them
sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest
not thou watch one hour?[38] Watch ye and pray,
lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but
the flesh is weak.[39] And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the
same words.[40] And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their
eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.[41] And he cometh the
third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough,
the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Matt.6[19] Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where
moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:[20]
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:[21] For
where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Luke.1216] And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain
rich man brought forth plentifully:[17] And he thought within himself, saying,
What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?[18] And
he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and
there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.[19] And I will say to my soul,
Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink,
and be merry.
[20] But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required
of thee:then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?[21]
So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
[22] And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought
for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.[23]
The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.[24] Consider
the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse
nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?[25]
And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?[26]
If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought
for the rest?[27] Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not,
they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not
arrayed like one of these.[28] If then God so clothe the grass, which is to
day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he
clothe you, O ye of little faith?[29] And seek not ye what ye shall
eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.[30] For all these
things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that
ye have need of these things.[31] But rather seek ye the kingdom of God;
and all these things shall be added unto you.[32] Fear not, little flock;
for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.[33] Sell that
ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a
treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither
moth corrupteth.[34] For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
