August - Augustus Caesar's month

Latin Augustus "Augustus"
Latin Augustus mensis "month of Augustus"
Latin sextilis mensis "sixth month" now the 8^th month

Sextilis had 30 days, until Numa when it - had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself.

God’s calendar - We are now the sixth month of God, Elul, day 6

 

Monday was the new moon: Elul is the name of the 6th month

 

Elul, seems like it is the name of the sixth month by the two verses below:

 

Neh.6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and6fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.

 

Neh.7[73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

 

The Word of God

 

Torah, Prophets and Writings (psalms)Ta Na Kk is an acronym for:

 

T = Torah (law, teachings) - first 5 books of Moses

 

N = Navi' eem or prophets (pl. sounds like - Na vi eem)

 

K = Ke'tuvim or writings (psalms etc.)

 

At this point, there were neither gospels nor letters.

Be faithful

 

Num.12 [7] My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

 

Deut.7 [9] Know therefore that Yehovah thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; [10] And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

 

Pss.5 [9] For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is ery wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

 

Pss.12 [1] Help, Yehovah; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

 

Pss.31 [23] O love Yehovah, all ye his saints: for Yehovah preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

 

Pss.36 [5] Thy mercy, Yehovah, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

 

Pss.40  [10] I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

 

Pss.88   [11] Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction?

[17] For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in  Messiah, as I teach every where in every church.

 

 

1 Cor.10 [13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

 

Gal.3[9] So then they which be of faith are blessedwith faithful Abraham.

[14] And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Messiah Yeshua.

 

[15] This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that  Messiah Yeshua came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

 

1 Tim.3 [11] Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

 

1 Tim.4 [9] This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.

 

1 Tim.6 [2] And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

Heb.10 [23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) [24] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:[25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

 

Heb.11 [11] Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

 

1 Pet.4[17] For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?[18] And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? [19] Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

Rev.3 [14] And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

[15] I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
[16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
[17] Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
[18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
[19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

 

Rev.17 [14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

 

Rev.19 [11] And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

 

Rev.21 [5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

 

Rev.22 [6] And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and Yehovah God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
