Joy and gerat gladness!!
John.7[1] After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.
[2] Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand.
John.7[14] Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
[37] In the last day, that great day of the feast , Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
[38] He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
[39] (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
[40] Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
[41] Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
[42] Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
[43] So there was a division among the people because of him.
[44] And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.
[45] Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
[46] The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
[47] Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
[48] Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
[49] But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
[50] Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them,)
[51] Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what he doeth?
[52] They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
[53] And every man went unto his own house.
Lev.23[39] Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have
gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven
days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a
sabbath.[40] And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees,
branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook;
and ye shall rejoice [42] Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall
dwell in booths:
[43] That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to
dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD
your God.
[44] And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.
Deut.16[13] Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after
that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:
[14] And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast,
[15] Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the LORD thy God in
the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD thy God shall bless
thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore
thou shalt surely rejoice. [17] Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the
LORD thy God which he hath given thee.
Neh.8[9] And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe,
and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day
is holy unto the LORD your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept,
when they heard the words of the law.
[10] Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet,
and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy
unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
[12] And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send
portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that
were declared unto them.
[13] And on the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers
of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even
to understand the words of the law.
[14] And they found written in the law which the LORD had commanded by Moses,
that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh
month:
[15] And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and
in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and
pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick
trees, to make booths, as it is written.
[16] So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths,
every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts
of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street
of the gate of Ephraim.
[17] And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity
made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son
of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was
very great gladness.
