Months in the Scriptures

The BARLEY הַשְּׂעֹרָה was NOT given for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years as some say!!!

Gen.1[ 14] And God said, Let there be lights מְאֹרֹת בִּרְקִיעַ in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: לְאֹתֹת וּלְמוֹעֲדִים, וּלְיָמִים וְשָׁנִים [ 15] And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.[16 ] And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night : he made the stars also. וַיַּעַשׂ אֱלֹהִים, אֶת־שְׁנֵי הַמְּאֹרֹת הַגְּדֹלִים: אֶת־ הַמָּאוֹר הַגָּדֹל , לְמֶמְשֶׁלֶת הַיּוֹם, וְאֶת־ הַמָּאוֹר הַקָּטֹן לְמֶמְשֶׁלֶת הַלַּיְלָה, וְאֵת הַכּוֹכָבִים [17] And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,[18] And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.[ 19] And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

Pss.104 [19] He appointed the moon for seasons:

הַמָּאוֹר הַקָּטֹן - the lesser light

H3394 ירח yareach - yaw-ray'-akh - From the same as H3391; the moon: - moon.

H2320 חדשׁ chodesh kho'-desh - From H2318; the new moon; by implication a month: - month (-ly), new moon.

Exod.12[2] This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
