Matt.22 [29] Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the "scriptures", nor the power of God.
The old and new testaments are not two dividing books, not two Gods, not two understandings.
All the Word of God is Scripture
I pray you do understand that when Yeshua said the scriptures below He did not have a so-called protestant new testament.
Paul, Peter, James, Jude and John did not have a so-called protestant new testament.
We received our English KJV in 1611 A. D. long after the Yeshua and the apostles.
Just a few examples.
When Yeshua said the scriptures below, He did not have a so-called protestant new testament.
Matt.4:[1
] Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness
to be tempted of the devil.
[2] And when he had fasted forty
days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
[3] And when the tempter came
to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made
bread.
[4] But he answered and said,
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but
by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Deut.8[ 3] And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
Matt.4[5
] Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city,
and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
I say again - How can this be done away or nailed to the cross if it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Yeshua was not talking about the so-called protestant new testament. Matt.4: Deut.6[
16] Ye shall not tempt the LORD
your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
Matt.4[8
] Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding
high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory
of them;
Exod.34[
14] For
thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose
name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Deut.5[
6] I am
the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the
land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
[9]
Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them:
for I the LORD thy
God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers
upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
----------
Matt.19[
18] He saith unto him, Which?
Jesus said,
Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou
shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Exod.20:[
1] And God spake all these words, saying,
-------------------
Matt.19[
21] Jesus
said unto him, If thou wilt
be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to
the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Deut.18[
13] Thou
shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
1Pet.1[
16] Because
it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Matt.22
[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Deut.6"[
1] Now these are the commandments,
the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach
you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
Mark.10[
18] And
Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good?
there is none good but one, that is, God.[19
] Thou knowest the commandments,
Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal,
Do not bear false witness,
Defraud not, Honour thy
father and mother.
Lev.18[1
] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
[4]
Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein:
I am the LORD your God.
Lev.19[
13] Thou
shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him
----------------------------
The old testament or covenant pertains to
the Levitical priesthood and all it's sacrifices, priest and temple services,
etc...
The new testament or covement pertains to the blood of Messiah
and the spiritural understanding of this Levitical system written in our hearts
and minds.
Remember, now we are priests:
Exod.19[
6] And ye shall be unto me a
kingdom of priests, and an
holy nation.
Rev.5[
10] And hast made us unto our
God kings and priests: and we
shall reign on the earth.
Rev.20[
6] Blessed and holy is he that
hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power,
but they shall be priests of God and of Christ,
and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Remember, now Yeshua is the high priest:
Heb.4[
14] Seeing then that
we have a great high priest, that
is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Remember, now Yeshua is the sacrifice:
Heb.10
[12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice
for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of
God;
Heb.9[
26] For then must he often have
suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the
world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice
of himself.
Remember, now we are the temple of the Living God:
1Cor.3[
16] Know ye not that
ye are the temple of God
, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
2Cor.6[
16] And what agreement hath
the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple
of the living God; as God hath
said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and
they shall be my people.

I believe that the protestants divided the
Word of God into two separate books. As I have shown above, the new and old
testaments are "not books" that divide but mostly the pertaining
blood. Read the scripture below:
The Old Testament
Exod.24[
8] And Moses took the blood,
and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the
blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with
you concerning all these words.
Heb.9[
12] Neither by
the blood of goats and calves,
but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy
place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. [13
] For if
the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer
sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying
of the flesh:
-----------------------------------------------------
The New Testament
Heb.914]
How much more shall the blood
of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself
without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living
God?
Luke.22[
20] Likewise also the cup after
supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my
blood, which is shed for you.
1Cor.11[
25] After the same manner also
he took the cup, when he had
supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my
blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance
of me.
-------------------------------------------------------
2Cor.3[
6]...our sufficiency is of God;
Who also hath made us able ministers of
the new testament
; not of the letter, but of the spirit:
for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
The letter being
the Levitical priesthood and all it's sacrifices,
priest and temple services, without the understanding of the fulfillment in
Messiah.
The spirit
being the understanding of the newness of
life fulfilled in the Messiah ( Rom. 6:4 )
I pray you see, this is not talking about the
so-called protestant new testament.
2Cor.3[
14] But
their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth
the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old
testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
The reading of the old testament
being the understanding about the
Levitical priesthood and all it's sacrifices,
priest and temple services in the Torah ( 5 books of Moses ), which are just
a shadow of the Messiah revealed in Yeshua. It is
sad and you are blind spiritually if you don't see Messiah Yeshua though His
Word.
Yeshua never said the old testament. No
one ever said the scriptures are called the old testament.
Luke.24[
32] And they said one to another,
Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while
he opened to us the scriptures?
[45] Then opened he their understanding, that they might
understand the scriptures,
Heb.10[
7] Then said I, Lo, I come
(in the volume of the book it is written of me,)
to do thy will, O God.
Pss.40
[7] Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of
me,

Rom.10[
4] For
Christ is the end of the law for righteousness
to every one that believeth.

From a primary word
Yeshua quoted:
Deut.8[3] And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
-------------------
[
6] And saith unto him, If thou
be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written,
He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall
bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
[7]
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt
not tempt the Lord thy God.
[9] And saith unto him, All
these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
[10] Then saith Jesus unto him,
Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt
worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
[11] Then the devil
leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
[2] I am the LORD thy God, which
have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other
gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto
thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above,
or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down
thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting
the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation
of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands
of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
[7] Thou shalt not take the
name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless
that taketh his name in vain.
[8] Remember the sabbath day,
to keep it holy.
[9] Six days shalt thou labour,
and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is
the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor
thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle,
nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days the LORD
made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh
day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
[12] Honour thy father and thy
mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth
thee.
[13] Thou shalt not kill.
[14] Thou shalt not commit adultery.
[15] Thou shalt not steal.
[16] Thou shalt not bear false
witness against thy neighbour.
[17] Thou shalt not covet thy
neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant,
nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
[2] That thou mightest fear
the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command
thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that
thy days may be prolonged.
[3] Hear therefore, O Israel,
and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase
mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that
floweth with milk and honey.
[4] Hear, O Israel: The LORD
our God is one LORD:
[5] And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
----------
[2] Speak unto the children
of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.
[3] After the doings of the
land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the
land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye
walk in their ordinances.
[5] Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments:
which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the
LORD.
[44]
And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I
was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were
written in the
law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms
, concerning me.
