--------------------------------

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

Today is 7th month called July, the 20th day, of 2013

July -- Julius Caesar's month

Middle English Julie
Latin Julius "Julius"
Latin Julius mensis "month of Julius"
Latin
quintilis mensis "fifth month"

Quintilis (and later Julius) has always had 31 days.

Julius Caesar reformed the Roman calendar (hence the Julian calendar) in 46 BC. In the process, he renamed this month after himself.

----------------------------------------------------

Yehovah has His own calendar

We are now in the 5th month, 11th day (this month has no name)

Judaism calls the 5th month Av which is made up – adding to the Word

Judaism made up the name AV (father?) and they say they have a civil year and religious year. They say AV is the eleventh month of the civil year, and fifth month of the religious year. Wrong!

Yehovah only has "ONE CALENDAR".

Deut. 11 [12] A land which Yehovah thy God careth for: the eyes of Yehovah thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

A recap of the history of our Months and the Meanings of their Names

January -- Janus's month

Janus is the Roman god of gates and doorways, depicted with two faces looking in opposite directions. His festival month is January.

Januarius had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

February -- month of Februa

Februarius had 28 days, until circa 450 BC when it had 23 or 24 days on some of every second year, until Julius when it had 29 days on every fourth year and 28 days otherwise.

Februa is the Roman festival of purification, held on February fifteenth. It is possibly of Sabine origin.

March -- Mars' month

Martius has always had 31 days.

March was the original beginning of the year, and the time for the resumption of war.

Mars is the Roman god of war. He is identified with the Greek god Ares.

April -- Aphrodite's month

Aprilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love and beauty. She is identified with the Roman goddess Venus.

May -- Maia's month

Maius has always had 31 days.

Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

June -- Juno's month

Junius had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Juno is the principle goddess of the Roman Pantheon. She is the goddess of marriage and the well-being of women. She is the wife and sister of Jupiter. She is identified with the Greek goddess Hera.

July -- Julius Caesar's month

Latin Julius mensis "month of Julius"
Latin quintilis mensis "fifth month"

Quintilis (and later Julius) has always had 31 days.

A recap of how to keep the Sabbath

I always feel I need to mention that the Sabbath is not "a service" for an hour and a half, but the Sabbath is a "whole 24 hr. day" to the God of Israel.

Beware of Judaism, they say Gentiles don’t have to keep the Sabbath; they say it is only for them Jews in Judaism which is not scriptural. The Judaism of today is not found in the Hebrew Bible. There was no Talmud or any other of Judaism’s books during the time of Moses. Actually, there was no Judaism nor rabbis found in the Tanakh.

Question: S0 why are we here today?

Answer: We were told to remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy

The 4th Commandment is a part of the “covenant” given to us at Mount Sinai in the 3rd month, Sivan

Ex. 20 [8] Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

[10] But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Did you remember? Here we can see that God tells us to remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. This tells us that they had known about the Sabbath before. We can also see that the entire day, 24 hours, is to be kept holy to Yehovah. No work is to be done by anyone in your entire household.

--------

Lev. 23 [1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them,

Concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

[3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

Within your gates - in all your dwellings

Unto this day, some people are still breaking the 4th commandment each week by not keeping the Sabbath as it is described above.

-------------

I shall again define a few words:

Remember

זכר zâkar - zaw-kar' - A primitive root; properly to mark (so as to be recognized), that is, to remember; by implication to mention; make mention of, be mindful, recount, record (-er), remember, make to be remembered, bring (call, come, keep, put) to (in) remembrance, still, think on, well.

----------

Holy Convocation

מקרא  miqra: convocation, convoking, reading, a calling together, sacred assembly, something called out, that is, a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal

קדשׁ  kodesh: a sacred place or thing; consecrated, dedicated, hallowed, holiness, saint, sanctuary, apartness, sacredness, separateness, apartness, sacredness, holiness

Dwelling

משׁב/מושׁב  môshâv – seat, assembly, dwelling-place, dwelling, your  situation, location, (at) time of dwelling

No buying and selling

How do I Keep the Sabbath?

This is a common question that we are asked, and as usual, the answer is in the Word of God.

First we will start by showing where the Sabbath originated:

Genesis Chapter 2 verses -2, 3

Sabbath is not a Jewish tradition. Here in Genesis 2:2,3 there were no Jews or an Israel.

Sabbath is a commandment.

Gen.2[ 2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.[ 3] And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

So we can see that God blessed and sanctified the 7th day in Genesis. If you don’t know what the 7th day of the week is, look on your calendar, It is Saturday.

Since the time of Yeshua / Jesus (and Jesus kept the Sabbath), the days in a year, and the days in the month has changed, but not the days of the week.

The Commandments of God are located in Exodus Chapter 20 and Deuteronomy Chapter 5.

The 4th Commandment of God is to keep HIS Sabbath

------------

Now you may have more questions, but again they are answered by the Word of God

Remember that Yeshua / Jesus is the Word of God manifest in the flesh. He is the one that made this commandment and it has a real purpose for his people. Yeshua / Jesus said in Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. He is said that he made the Sabbath FOR man.

He knows that if we don't spend at least one whole day reading his word, praying, and taking the time to know him - we will forget him. If we are honest, we can see the result. Christians go to church on Sunday for an hour or so, go out to lunch, mow the lawn, and watch the ball game etc...

God starts His day in the evening, as said in here:

Gen.1[5] And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. You see the day starts in the evening.

They do not keep the commandment as God said (Saturday- all day) and the result is that many pseudo Christians do not know the word of God today and probably can't even tell you what his commandments are.

Also, by the way, God's day is from evening to evening (sunset to sunset) which makes more sense than the day changing in the middle of the night. In God's day there is 12 hours of night and then 12 hours of day. In the bible where the Holy ghost came to the apostles on the day of Pentecost, the 3 rd hour of the day would be around 9:00 in the morning (the third hour of sunlight). So God's Sabbath starts Friday night at sunset and ends on Saturday night at sunset.

Lev 23:32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

Gentiles get a special Blessing for keeping Sabbath

Isa.56

[1] Thus saith Yehovah, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
[2] Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

[3] Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to Yehovah, speak, saying, The Yehovah hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.[4] For thus saith Yehovah unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;[5] Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. [6] Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to Yehovah, to serve him, and to love the name of Yehovah, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
[7] Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

So we can see that even when the stranger (which some of us once were) join themselves to Yehovah, and serve him, and keep His sabbath even them will I bring to my holy mountain

How to keep the Sabbath

Isaiah 58:13-14

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of Yehovah, honorable; and shalt honor him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Then shalt thou delight thyself in Yehovah; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Yehovah hath spoken it
.

Here we see that the entire day is to be kept for the Lord. Not doing your own ways, or speaking your own words, or doing your own pleasure. Call the Sabbath a delight! Holy of the Yehovah! And honoring HIM! Now you may ask, what could possibly be wrong with that? The answer is that there is everything right with that.

The Sabbath and not having idols are the two commandments most written about in the bible (2nd and 4th commandments).

God does NOT change and Yeshua / Jesus is the Word of God in the flesh.

Another point to remember is that Yeshua / Jesus and the apostles did not have the Gospels and letters.

They used the TaNaKh to prove the Messiah. The reasons most people do not understand the Gospels and letters is that they don't know, or read the Torah.

Now I will show you by scripture that you cannot buy or sell on the Sabbath.

Nehemiah 13 15-22

In those days saw I in Judah some treading wine presses on the sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and lading asses; as also wine, grapes, and figs, and all manner of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the sabbath day: and I testified against them in the day wherein they sold victuals.
There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.
Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?
Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city? yet ye bring more wrath upon Israel by profaning the sabbath.
And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
So the merchants and sellers of all kind of ware lodged without Jerusalem once or twice.
Then I testified against them, and said unto them, Why lodge ye about the wall? if ye do so again, I will lay hands on you. From that time forth came they no more on the sabbath. And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day.

Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.

As we can see, it is EVIL to buy and sell on the Sabbath and the people of Israel were punished many times for not keeping HIS Sabbath. Without the Sabbath, God’s people forget Him.

Sabbath mentioned by Yeshua when talking about the futureMatt.24[20] But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day:

Even after there are a New Heavens and a New Earth, there will be a Sabbath.

Isa.66[ 22] For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make , shall remain before me, saith Yehovah, so shall your seed and your name remain.[23 ] And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another , shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith Yehovah.

Sabbath is mentioned 60 times in the Gospels and letters

Have you read this verse in Luke 23:56?

(First day of the feast of unleavened bread)

There is still a Sabbath, a rest, and it is a commandment.

Luke.23[ 54] And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. [56] And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.

By this short recap of 2013, I see we can use this study to reevaluate ourselves, our friends and companions, our lifestyle, etc.

As Paul puts it, examine ourselves.

1Cor.11[28] But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

2Cor.13[5] Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Yeshua the Messiah is in you, except ye be reprobates?

We had become forensic spiritual detectives in our walk with the God of Israel. We have learned to prove all things, and only hold fast that which is good.

Apostle Paul says the same thing:

1Thes.5[21] Prove all things; hold fast that which is good

Gal.6[4] But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

Just by the titles of the studies that I did so far in 2013 would make anyone pause and consider if their lives are in line with Scripture.

Two studies that I did in the past really stand out in a very important manner for everyone to understand and reread and digest.

One study was “Relevancy to Scripture”.

The question was, on the subjects or topics that you would like to discuss are they relevant, irrelevant or not so relevant?

1 - Relevant - bearing upon or connected with the matter in hand; pertinent

2 - Not so relevant – not so pertinent

3 - Irrelevant - not relevant; not applicable or pertinent

Most pseudo Christians love talking about eschatology which is just a waste of time because no one actually knows the future. They think themselves enlightened, I beg to differ.

Eschatology: Any system of doctrines concerning last, or final, matters, as  the future state of events to the end, death, the Judgment, etc. , a branch of theology.

----------------

The other study, which is very important, was titled “What are salvation issues?”

What is a salvation issue?

In other words,

What makes your salvation void?

Answer: any SIN

 (Which Include)

Another GOSPEL, another Yeshua, another Spirit

Another Religion, Doctrine

If you’re not of the God of Israel

If you don’t believe the Word of God was made flesh

If you don’t believe Yeshua is the Messiah

If you don’t believe in Yeshua’s blood atonement

If you are of an anti-Messiah spirit

These are a few Salvation issues!!

1John.4[3] And every spirit that confesseth not that Yeshua the Messiah is come in the flesh (of Israel) is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

John.1[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.[2] The same was in the beginning with God.[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.[5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

[10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Question: How do we define sin?

Answer: Transgressing the LAW

1John.3 [4] Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Prov.28 [9] He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

------------------

John.8[34] Yeshua answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

1John.3[8] He that committeth sin is of the devil;

[10] In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God…

I hope you don’t find this study, redundant, for Scripture says:

Prov.6[23] For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life

Even in Deuteronomy chapter 17, the King of Israel had to read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear Yehovah his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them: That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

In closing, don’t let anyone, anything, or any situation, contrary to the Word of God, steal your salvation. (which is murder of the soul)

Shabbat Shalom
