Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

 April 16, 2016

April -- Aphrodite's month

Greek Aphro, short for Aphrodite.

Aprilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love and beauty. She is identified with the Roman goddess Venus.

---------------------------------------------------

Yehovah has His own calendar

Today is the daytime hours of the first month, Nisan, day 8

Esth.3 [7] In the first month, that is, the month Nisan

בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשׁוֹן, הוּא-חֹדֶשׁ נִיסָן

--------------------------

Exod.13 [4] This day came ye out in the month (ha) Abib. ha Aviv

הַיּוֹם, אַתֶּם יֹצְאִים, בְּחֹדֶשׁ, הָאָבִיב

Aviv = green, a young ear of grain (barley at this time)

I will explain the Sabbath each week now during the coming holydays

This is how simple it is:

Exod. 20 [8] Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yehovah thy God:

in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days
Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Lev. 23 [3] Six days shall work be done:

but

the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation;

ye shall do no work therein:

it is the sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

--------

Isa. 58 [13] If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of Yehovah, honourable; and shalt honour him,

1 - not doing thine own ways,

2 - nor finding thine own pleasure,

3 - nor speaking thine own words:

[14] Then shalt thou delight thyself in Yehovah; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Yehovah hath spoken it.

------------------------

Buying and selling is evil on the Sabbath

Neh. 13 [16] There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

[17] Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, What evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the sabbath day?

------------------------

Passover is next week

Amazingly, we always lose people at this time.

----------------------

Before we start, first I will do a short review of the Spring Feasts and Holy Days again.  It seems I can never review these days early enough for you.

Passover – פֶּסַח

Feast of Unleavened Bread - חַג הַמַּצּוֹת

First fruits   בִּכּוּרֵי “Offering time”

50 days from First Fruits:

Feast of Weeks, Hag Sh'vu-ot - חַג שָׁבֻעֹת Offering time”

Feast of Harvest Hag ha katseer - חַג הַקָּצִיר

(A Sabbath) Sunday, (there are 2 Sabbaths in a row)

Remember we will be counting "weeks" not omers

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley

עמר  omer  - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

-------------------------

Here are the dates again

Ha Aviv / Nisan 14 - Passover is the 22nd of April in the evening

Ha Aviv / Nisan 15 - Feast of Unleavened Bread, Saturday, the 23rd of April, starts the evening before.

Ha Aviv / Nisan 21 – end of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, Friday, the 29th of April, starts the evening before.

Sivan (3rd month) Feast of Week - June 12, 2016, Sunday or 1st day, a Sabbath

---------------

Today’s topic:

A Review for next Friday evening

PASSOVER HAGGADAH - SEDER SERVICE

The order of service

The word Seder means "Order", as in order of the service.

Exod.12: [25] And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which Yehovah will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.

[26] And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, what mean ye by this service?

-----------

HAGGADAH means "the Telling"

HAGGADAH is the name of the many versions of books that have been written which tell of the Passover story through the Seder dinner.

Many of these Passover Seders are not scriptural.

We keep Passover in memorial

Again, HAGGADAH means "the Telling", so I will tell the truth!

We don’t wrap in plastic our Passover HAGGADAH study.

We can light candles but it is not a commandment.

We do not say the made up Dayanu sayings.

We do not have eggs, shank bones, etc…

We don’t have a Messiah dinner for His future first coming.

We do not tell the made up story of the afikoman.

We do not charge money to anyone for the Passover.

We do not go to 2 or 3 Passover services.

We only have one Passover on the right evening with people of the God of Israel that keep the commandments.

We don’t sell the chametz as Chabad Judaism does.

We don’t have roast chicken, beef brisket or turkey.

We don’t keep Passover with people that break Sabbath or any commandment of the God of Israel.

We don’t leave the door open for Elijah to come

We don’t set a cup of wine for Elijah

We believe Yeshua the Messiah, He said Elijah is come indeed, it was John the Baptist.

We don't make a big deal of washing hands, houses or whatever to get the leaven out.

We don’t lean over to eat.

We don’t eat the Passover memorial dinner is a rush to flee. We are not fleeing.

We don’t kill a roaster as some unsaved Jews do.

We don’t put blood on the door posts.

We leave out all these traditions because they cloud the real meaning of the Passover.

Beware of "Made-up analogies".

Beware of quoting from the Talmud that is unwise and unscriptural.

There are no prayer shawls or tallits in scripture for you to wear.

There are no such things as Passover plates or silverware in scripture.

We don’t follow the 15 steps made up in Judaism pertaining to Passover

-----------------------------------------

The feasts and appointed days of Yehovah

מוֹעֲדֵי יְהוָה

Lev. 23 [2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

[4] These are the feasts of Yehovah, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

[37] These are the feasts of Yehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto Yehovah, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:

[44] And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of Yehovah

----------------

THE FESTIVAL MEAL

SHULCHAN ORECH (Set table)

A little leaven, a little sin leaveneth the whole lump, get the leaven out!

Passover meal

The Matzah, The Unleavened bread - humble bread, not puffed up (leaven - symbolic of sin).

The Roasted Lamb is a reminder of the first Passover sacrifice and the sacrifice of Yeshua, the Lamb of God

Bitter Herbs seems to recall the bitterness of slavery.

1 Cor. 5 [7] Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Messiah / Christ our Passover sacrificed for us:

[8] Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

-----------------

Lamb, unleavened bread and bitter herbs

Exod.12 [8] And they shall eat the flesh in (the lamb) that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.

Num.9 [11] The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it (the roasted lamb), and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

Searching for Leaven

Exod.12 [15] Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

Exod. 13 [6] Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to Yehovah.

[7] Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.

----------------

What work may be done?

What are Holy convocations?

Exod.12 [16] And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.

----------

Ex. 12: 15 - Matthew 16: 6

Leaven in Scripture is almost always a symbol of sin.

Putting away of Leaven is a picture of sanctification and getting sin out of our life. Yeshau said, Go and sin NO MORE!

The Hebrew word for Leaven is chametz.

Let’s seek to be more like Yeshua with no sin.

1 Cor. 5 [6] Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

[7] Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

[8] Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Time to eat and talk about the Passover

TELLING THE PASSOVER STORY

I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, I am Yehovah

Exod.12 [12] For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am Yehovah.

Jer.43 [12] And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives: and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd putteth on his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.

----------------

Reading: Exod. 1 to 14

We shall talk about the 10 plagues:

The ten plagues in Egypt

Water to Blood

Frogs

Lice

Flies

grievous murrain

Boils

Hail

Locusts

Darkness

Death of the Firstborn

------------

We shall talk about the ten murmurings, complains, disputing of Israel

Num.14 [22 ] Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice;

[23 ] Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

Does this sound like you may have done these things below a time or two as the Israelites have done?

murmurings:

against God, many times

against Yehovah, many times

against My commandments, many times

against "the land" which Yehovah gave them ( the building God has given us to meet in )

against the manna , the bread from heaven which God gave them. ( they wanted flesh to eat )

against the wife of Moses ( the minister's wife )

against Moses, many times ( the minister Yehovah has put over you )

complained that there was no water in the wilderness

against Aaron

against the people who God put over them, many times ( against people Yehovah brings to our congregation )

PASSOVER QUESTIONS

Exod. 13

[6] Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to Yehovah.

[7] Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.

[8] And thou shalt shew thy son in that day, saying, This is done because of that which Yehovah did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt.

[14] And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? that thou shalt say unto him, By strength of hand Yehovah brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage:

[15] And it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that Yehovah slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast: therefore I sacrifice to Yehovah all that openeth the matrix, being males; but all the firstborn of my children I redeem.

[16] And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand Yehovah brought us forth out of Egypt.

[17] And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:

[18] But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

Deut. 6

[20] And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Yehovah our God hath commanded you?

[21] Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and Yehovah brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

[22] And Yehovah shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

[23] And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

[24] And Yehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yehovah our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

[25] And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before Yehovah our God, as he hath commanded us.

[26] And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service?

[27] That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of Yehovah's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

KIDDUSH - Sanctification: Only ONE Cup - in HIS BLOOD - the New Covenant

Matt. 26 [26] And as they were eating, Yeshua took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

[27] And he took "the cup", and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

[28] For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

[29] But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

---------------

Mark 14: [22] And as they did eat, Yeshua took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

[23] And he took "the cup", and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of it.

[24] And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

[25] Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

[26] And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

--------------

Luke 22 [15] And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer:

[16] For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

[17] And he took "the cup", and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:

[18] For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.

[19] And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

[20] Likewise also "the cup" after supper, saying, "This cup" is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

-------------

1 Cor. 10[16] "The cup" of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Messiah?

-------------

1 Cor. 11 [23] For I have received of Yeshua that which also I delivered unto you, That Yeshua the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

[24] And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

[25] After the same manner also he took "the cup", when he had supped, saying, "This cup" is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

[26] For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink "this cup", ye do shew Yeshua's death till he come.

[27] Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink "this cup" of Yeshua, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of Yeshua.

[28] But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of "that cup".

[29] For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning Yeshua's body.

[30] For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

[31] For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

[32] But when we are judged, we are chastened of Yeshua, that we should not be condemned with the world.

-------------------

Then we will pray:

Minister: For I have received of Yeshua that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Yeshua the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Minister: Take eat!

After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

Minister: Take drink,

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew Yeshua's death till he come.

Bless Yeshua!

-------------

Minister: Sh'ma – Hear!

The Shema - Israel's watch words for all time!

Minister: Sh'ma Yisrael: Yehovah Eloheinu, Yehovah Echad.

 שְׁמַע, יִשְׂרָאֵל:  יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ, יְהוָה אֶחָד.

** Congregation reading: Hear, Israel, Yehovah is our God, Yehovah is One.

Deut. 6

[1] Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the Yehovah your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
[2] That thou mightest fear the Yehovah thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
[3] Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Yehovah God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

[4] Hear, O Israel: Yehovah is our God – Yehovah is one :
[5] And thou shalt love the Yehovah thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
[6] And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
[7] And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
[8] And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
[9] And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Remember the Spring Feasts and Holy days of Yehovah we do in memorial

In God’s Spring Calendar:

Passover next week, then the Feast of Unleavened Bread

First Fruits (barley)

Feast of Weeks - Pentecost) First Fruits (wheat) Sunday

Remember we will be counting "weeks" not omers

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley

עמר  omer  - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

----------------------

**Remember God’s calendar is different than the Gregorian and Judaism calendars.

**Remember, God starts His days in the evening

Gen.1[5] And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Lev. 23 [32] It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.

 Some words to know:

Lev. 23 [3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an "holy convocation"; ye shall do no work therein: it is the

The Sabbath is a "holy convocation"

Holy convocation מִקְרָא-קֹדֶשׁ

 ------------

Learn the 7 extra Sabbath besides the weekly Sabbath in the Feast and Holy Days in the 1st month, 3rd month, and 7th month of God

3 harvests, feasts, not 7 feasts (He is, He was and He is to come)

Preparation should be considered to observe these holydays properly.

In closing:

All that joined themselves to the God of Israel prepare for the Spring Feasts and Holy days.

 One last note of interest:

Look at your calendar (the Gregorian calendar we use today) you have in your home.

They had March 27, 2016 as Easter, eggs, rabbits, chocolate candy, etc.

**However it is the resurrection of Jesus / Yeshua from the dead

Then they will have April 22, 2016 is Passover when Jesus / Yeshua dies on the tree / cross

 How could that be?

They have Jesus / Yeshua rising from the dead almost a month before He dies. (Wrong!) Oh well…
