Today we use
the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory, from the 1500’s
Today is February 9, 2013
February
-- month of Februa
Latin
dies februatus "day of
purification"
Februarius had 28 days, until circa 450
BC when it had 23 or 24 days on some of every second year, until Julius when it
had 29 days on every fourth year and 28 days otherwise.
Februa is the Roman
festival of purification held on February fifteenth. It is possibly of Sabine origin.
The Sabines
(seɪbaɪn
/; Latin: Sabini; Ancient Greek: Σαβῖνοι) were an Italic tribe that lived
in the central Appennines of ancient Italy, also inhabiting Latium north of the Anio before the founding of Rome.

Now,
God’s truth
Yehovah
has His own calendar
We are now in the eleventh month, which is the month Sh’vat, 27th day
Zech.1 [7] Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month,
which is the month Sebat, in the
second year of Darius, came the word of Yehovah unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet,
saying…

The storm has

parts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Maine. Portland, Maine
has recorded their greatest snowstorm on record with more than 29 inches.
-----------------
Today’s topic:
Let’s talk about “holiness”
קדשׁ kodesh
Apartness,
holiness, sacredness, separateness, purity, consecrated: of the God of Israel,
places, and things
[9] Let love be without
dissimulation (feigning; hypocrisy)
Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
[10] Be kindly affectioned one to another with
brotherly love; in honour preferring
one another;
[11] Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
[12] Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
[13] Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
[14] Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
[15] Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
[16] Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but
condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
[17] Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of
all men.
[18] If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live
peaceably with all men.
[19] Dearly
beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place
unto wrath:
for it is written, (in Isa.34, 35, 47,61, 63 and many
other places )
Vengeance is mine; I
will repay, saith the Lord.
[20] Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for
in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
[21] Be not overcome of evil,
but overcome evil with good.
----------------------------------
A few questions:
Rom.6
[1]
What shall we say then?
Shall we continue in
sin, that grace may abound?
[2] God forbid.
How shall we, that are dead to
sin, live any longer therein?
[3] Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yeshua the
Messiah were baptized into his death?
[4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as
Messiah was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also
should walk in newness of life.
[5] For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death,
we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.
[6] Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the
body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
[7] For he that is dead is freed from sin.
[8] Now if we be dead with Messiah, we believe that we shall also live
with him:
[9] Knowing that Messiah being raised from the dead dieth
no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
[10] For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth,
he liveth unto God.
[11] Likewise reckon ye also yourselves
to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Yeshua the Messiah our
Lord.
[12]
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the
lusts thereof.
[13] Neither yield
ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God,
as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness unto God.
[16] Know ye not, that to whom ye
yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether
of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
[19] I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your
flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to
iniquity unto iniquity;
even so now yield
your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
[20] For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from
righteousness.
[21] What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for
the end of those things is death.
[22]
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto
holiness, and the end everlasting life.
[23] For the wages of sin
is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Yeshua the Messiah our Lord.
-------------------------
Who should you buddy up with?
[14] Be ye not unequally yoked
together with
unbelievers:
for what fellowship
hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with darkness?
[15] And what concord hath Messiah with Belial?
or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
[16] And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?
for ye are the temple of the living God;
as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them;
and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
[17] Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the
Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
[18] And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters,
saith the Lord Almighty.
How do you perfect holiness?
2Cor.7[1] Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from
all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the
fear of God.
Be a NEW creature
[22] That ye put off
concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to
the deceitful lusts;
[23] And be
renewed in the spirit of your mind;
[24] And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness
and true holiness.
[25] Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour:
for we are members one of another.
[26] Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
[27]
Neither give
place to the devil.
[28] Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour,
working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him
that needeth.
[29] Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that
which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the
hearers.
[30] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God,
whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
[31] Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour,
and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
[32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Messiah's sake hath forgiven you.
Col.3 [1] If ye then be risen
with Messiah, seek those things which are above, where Messiah sitteth
on the right hand of God.
[2] Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
[3] For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Messiah in God.
[4] When Messiah, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also
appear with him in glory.
[5]
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth;
fornication,
uncleanness,
inordinate affection,
evil concupiscence,
and covetousness,
which is idolatry:
[6] For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of
disobedience:
[7] In the which ye also walked some time,
when ye lived in them.
[8] But
now ye also put off all these;
anger,
wrath,
malice,
blasphemy,
filthy communication out
of your mouth.
[9]
Lie not one to another, seeing that
ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
[10] And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after
the image of him that created him:
[11] Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision,
Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Messiah is all, and in all.
[12] Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of
mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
[13] Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man
have a quarrel against any: even as Messiah forgave you,
so also do ye.
[14] And above
all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
[15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which
also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
[16] Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching
and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
[17] And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the
Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
[18] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in
the Lord.
[19] Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter
against them.
[20] Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well
pleasing unto the Lord.
[21] Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be
discouraged.
[22] Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh;
not with eyeservice,
as menpleasers;
but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
[23] And
whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
[24] Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance:
for ye serve the Lord Messiah.
[25]
But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and
there is no respect of persons.
-------------
1Thes.3 [12] And the Lord make
you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even
as we do toward you:
[13] To the end he may stablish your hearts
unblameable
in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Yeshua the
Messiah with all his saints.
-------------------
We were called unto holiness
1Thes.4
[3] For
this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
[4]
That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification
and honour;
[5] Not
in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:
[6] That
no man
go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because
that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and
testified.
[7] For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
[8] He therefore that despiseth,
despiseth
not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
[9] But as
touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves
are taught of God to love one another.
Follow peace with all men, and
holiness
[15] Looking
diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness
springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
[16] Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one
morsel of meat sold his birthright.
[17] For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing,
he was rejected:
for he found no place of repentance, though he
sought it carefully with tears.
In conclusion:
Just be Perfect
