Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

Today is June 8, 2013

June -- Juno's month

Junius had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Juno is the principle goddess of the Roman Pantheon.

She is the goddess of marriage and th e well-being of women.

She is the wife and sister of Jupiter.

She is identified with the Greek goddess Hera.

Hera is the queen of the gods. Hera is the wife and one of three sisters of Zeus in the Olympian pantheon of Greek mythology and religion.

----------------------------------------------------

Yehovah has His own calendar

Today is the 28th day of the 3rd month of God called Sivan

Esth.8 [9] Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan

Reminder: The New Moon is coming (Monday evening)

The 4th month (this month has no name)

Judaism calls the 4 month Tammuz which is made up

The only verse for Tammuz in the Scriptures is:

Ezek.8[ 14] Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yehovah's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz - ( a pagan deity ) מְבַכּוֹת אֶת־הַ תַּמּוּז  -- a Sumerian deity of food or vegetation, a Phoenician deity

---------------------------------

I had a request last week by a brother in Los Angeles, California to do a study on the topic “cut off”.  He asked, what does that mean? I hope I answered this question in this short study below.

Today's topic:

Cut off

When you sin presumptuously, you are cut off from your people on the earth, and from the God of Israel.

I see the words; cut off, blotted out, eternal damnation, eternal punishment, eternal fire, hell and the suchlike are all synonyms of eternal death.

First, let’s define the term cut all

כּרת  kârath  -  kaw-rath' - A primitive root: to cut (off, down or asunder); by implication to destroy or consume; - be chewed, hew (down), lose, perish, utterly, want, to take away, to permit to perish, cut down, cut off a body part, cut out, eliminate, kill, behead

Part of Speech: verb

Pertaining to a covenant: like circumcision

Specifically to covenant (that is, make an alliance or bargain, originally by cutting flesh and passing between the pieces): make a league covenant, be confederate, cut a covenant

--------------------

Let's read some passages in Scripture pertaining to turn “cut off”, how it is used.

I see the first usage of the term cut off is used pertaining to the flood, how the old world that sinned was cut off from the righteous.

Gen.9 [11] And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

--------------

The second time this term is used; I see it is pertaining to people that break God’s covenant of circumcision; they are to be cut off from the congregation.

Gen.17 [14] And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

----------------

Let’s examine this term more closely. I see the term “cut off” is very close to the term “to be blotted out” of God’s book in which I will show later in the study.

Pertaining to Pharaoh

Exod.9[15] For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.

Prov.2[22] But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Exod.12

[1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
[2] This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
[3] Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
[4] And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
[5] Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
[6] And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
[7] And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
[8] And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
[9] Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
[10] And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
[11] And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is Yehovah's passover.
[12] For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am Yehovah.
[13] And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
[14] And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to Yehovah throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
[15] Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
[16] And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.
[17] And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.
[18] In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
[19] Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.[20] Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.

-----------------------

The next instance is pertaining to the holy oil and perfume of God

Exod.30

[31] And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.
[32] Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.
[33] Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.

[37] And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for Yehovah.
[38] Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.

----------------

I hope you getting the meaning and the definition of the term “cut off”. Simply put, when you disobey God’s commands you get cut off.

Let’s move on:

The next instance, which I knew would be coming soon, pertains to the Sabbath.

Exod.31[14] Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

Let’s move on to Leviticus

Lev.7[20] But the soul that eateth of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, that pertain unto Yehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

[21] Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which pertain unto Yehovah, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

[25] For whosoever eateth the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto Yehovah, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people.

[27] Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

Lev.17

[1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
[
2] Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which Yehovah hath commanded, saying,
[
3] What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp,
[
4] And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto Yehovah before the tabernacle of Yehovah; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
[
5] To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto Yehovah, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto Yehovah.
[
6] And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of Yehovah at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto Yehovah.
[
7] And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations.

[8] And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering of sacrifice,
[
9] And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto Yehovah; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.
[
10] And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people.
[
11] For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
[
12] Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.
[
13] And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust.
[
14] For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.
[
15] And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean.
[
16] But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity.

Lev.18 - Read the whole chapter with me and see how God hates the nakedness

[1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am Yehovah your God.
[3] After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
[4] Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am Yehovah your God.
[5] Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am Yehovah.
[6] None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am Yehovah.
[7] The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
[8] The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.
[9] The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.
[10] The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness.
[11] The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
[12] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman.
[13] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: for she is thy mother's near kinswoman.
[14] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt.
[15] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
[16] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness.
[17] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.
[18] Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.
[19] Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
[20] Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.
[21] And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am Yehovah.
[22] Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
[23] Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
[24] Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
[25] And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
[26] Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
[27] (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
[28] That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.
[29] For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
[30] Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am Yehovah your God.

Lev.20[17] And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.

[18] And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

Lev.22[1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
[
2] Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am Yehovah.
[
3] Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto Yehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from my presence: I am Yehovah.

Pertaining to the Day of Atonement

Lev.23[29] For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.

Pertaining to the Passover

Num.9[13] But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of Yehovah in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.

-----------------------

And now we get to a topic that I discussed many times in the past, sinning presumptuously

Deut.13 - please read the whole chapter

[6] If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
[7] Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
[8] Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
[9] But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
[10] And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die
; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from Yehovah thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
[11] And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.

Heb.10 - [26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[
27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
[
28] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
[
29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
[
30] For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
[
31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Num.15[30] But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth Yehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.[31] Because he hath despised the word of Yehovah, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

Num.19[13] Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of Yehovah; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.

------------------

Now we see that God has cut off nations that disobeyed him, they don’t exist any longer.

Deut.12[29] When Yehovah thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;

Deut.19[1] When Yehovah thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land Yehovah thy God giveth thee, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;

----------------

You will be cut off, even in the world to come

Matt.12[32] And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Mark.3[29] But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation: [30] Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.

--------------------

Now let’s talk about God’s book, about being blotted out, cut off.

Exod.32[32] Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.[33] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Blotted out, cut off and deleted

Deut.9[14] Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven: and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they.

Deut.25[19] Therefore it shall be, when Yehovah thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which Yehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.

Deut. 29[19] And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
[20] The Yehovah will not spare him, but then the anger of Yehovah and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and Yehovah shall blot out his name from under heaven.
[21] And Yehovah shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:

David said, pertaining to the wicked:

Pss.69[28] Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

Pss.109[13] Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.[14] Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with Yehovah; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

Jeremiah the prophet said, pertaining to the wicked:

Jer.18[23] Yet, Yehovah, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.

--------------------------

Read the books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and you’ll see a lot of cutting off taking place of people that have sinned.

Zeph.1

[1] The word of Yehovah which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.
[
2] I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith Yehovah.
[
3] I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith Yehovah.
[
4] I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
[
5] And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by Yehovah, and that swear by Malcham;
[
6] And them that are turned back from Yehovah; and those that have not sought Yehovah, nor inquired for him.
[
7] Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of Yehovah is at hand: for Yehovah hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.
[
8] And it shall come to pass in the day of Yehovah's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.
[
9] In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.
[
10] And it shall come to pass in that day, saith Yehovah, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.
[
11] Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.
[
12] And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The Yehovah will not do good, neither will he do evil.
[
13] Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
[
14] The great day of Yehovah is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of Yehovah: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
[
15] That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
[
16] A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
[
17] And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against Yehovah: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
[
18] Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of Yehovah's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

In summary:

1Chr.28[9] And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for Yehovah searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

2Chr.15  [1] And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:
[2] And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The Yehovah is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

Rom.11[22] Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Rev.22

[16] I Yeshua have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
[
17] And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

[18] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

[19] And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
[
20] He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Yeshua

There is no eternal security in any of these verses above, don’t kid yourself, God is not mocked.

I hope you understand the meaning of “cutoff” now.
