Today's Topic: 

Do you really know what born again means?

Do you really know what being converted is?

 

This may seem like a simple study however it is one of the most important studies.

Without being born again, converted, you will not see the kingdom of God.

 

Exod.16 [28] And Yehovah said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

 

If people don't see you as a "new, converted" creature, you probably are not a new creature but the old man or woman that you always were.

Let's review a few words first:

Converted

G4762 στρέφω - strephō - stref'-o - Strengthened from the base of G5157; to twist, that is, turn quite around or reverse (literally or figuratively): - convert, turn (again, back again (to a child), self, self about). To turn, turn around, to turn one’s self , metaphorically to turn one’s self from one’s course of conduct, i.e. to change one’s mind

G5157 - τροπή -  tropē - trop-ay' - From an apparently primary word τρέπω trepō (to turn); a turn (“trope”), that is, revolution - turning.

David says:

Pss. 51 [10] Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

[13] Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

ùÑåÌá shûv - to return, turn back, of spiritual relations (figuratively), to turn back (to God), repent, to restore, refresh, repair (figuratively), reverse

Yeshua says:

Matt. 18 [3] And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

You should be able to make a conscience list of the things you are doing in your new life.

Here is a short list:

How do you honor the God of Israel?

How do you speak to others?

How do you treat people?

How do you treat your brothers and sisters?

How do you dress?

How do you act before others?

Where do you like to go?

What do you like to do?

What type of people do you like to be around?

What do you eat, drink or smoke?

 

Yeshua broke down the Law and the Prophets which contain the 10 Commandments as well as any other commandment in Torah like this:

 

How do you treat God and how do you treat your neighbors (in the God of Israel).

 

Mat 22: 35-40

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
[37] Yeshua said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
[38] This is the first and great commandment.
[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Exod.16 [4] Then said Yehovah unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

John.14 [15] If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John.15 [10] If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Prov.3[1] My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Prov.4[4] He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Prov.7[2] Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

1John.2[4] He that saith, I know Him (God), and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Yeshua tells a Pharisee, named Nicodemus, a ruler to be born again, born from above!

 

John 3

[1] There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
[2] The same came to Yeshua by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

[3] Yeshua answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

[4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

[5] Yeshua answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

[7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

[8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
[9] Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
[10] Yeshua answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
[11] Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
[12] If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

Heb.10

[26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

[27] But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

[28] He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

[29] Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

[30] For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

[31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Peter says:

1 Pet. 1 [22] Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

[23] Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Are you a new creature, new man / woman?

2 Cor. 5 [17] Therefore if any man be in Messiah, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Eph. 4 [24] And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Col. 3 [10] And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

 Ruth 4 [13] So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, Yehovah gave her conception, and she bare a son.

[3] And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab, saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the country.

 

Josh.6[17] And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the Yehovah: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

[23] And the young men that were spies went in, and brought Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.

[25] And Joshua saved Rahab the harlot alive, and her father's household, and all that she had; and she dwelleth in Israel even unto this day; because she hid the messengers, which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

Yeshua tells Simon Peter:

Luke. 22 [31] And Yehovah said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

[32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

Simon Peter is now converted

He says:

Acts 3 [19] Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of Yehovah;

[20] And He (the Father) shall send Yeshua the Messiah, which before was preached unto you:

[21] Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Paul writes to the Colossians

Col. 3

[1] If ye then be risen with Messiah, seek those things which are above, where Messiah sitteth on the right hand of God.
[2] Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
[3] For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Messiah in God.
[4] When Messiah, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.


[5] Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

[6] For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

[7] In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

[8] But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

[9] Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
[10] And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

[11] Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Messiah is all, and in all.


[12] Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
[13] Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Messiah forgave you, so also do ye.

[14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
[15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.


[16] Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to Yehovah.

[17] And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

 

[18] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.


[19] Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.


[20] Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto Lord.


[21] Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.


[22] Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:


[23] And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

[24] Knowing that of Yehovah ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord, Messiah.


[25] But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Deut.1 [17] Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.

Deut.16 [19] Thou shalt not wrest (pervert) judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

If you do any of these things below, you are not born from above

Gal.5 [16] This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
[
17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
[
18] But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. (This means you will not get the judgment, punishment).

[19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[
20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[
21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

 

Same message in the letter to the Corinthians

1Cor. [9] Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
[
10] Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

We are the temple of God

I will dwell in them, and walk in them

Some people pollute God’s temple with drugs, alcohol and other things

 1 Cor. 3 [16] Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

[17] If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

2 Cor. 6 [14] Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
[15] And what concord hath Messiah with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

[16] And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?

for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

[17] Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith Yehovah, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
[18] And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith Yehovah Almighty.
Rev. 21 [22] And I saw no temple therein: for Yehovah God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

Some People pollute where God wants to dwell

 Ezek. 44

[7] … ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations.

[8] And ye have not kept the charge of mine holy things: but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves.

[9] Thus saith Yehovah Yehovah; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart, nor uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any stranger that is among the children of Israel.

Exod.12 [48] And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to Yehovah, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land:

for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.

In closing:

Passover / Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Weeks are coming again,

Are you really born again?

> Are you really converted?

 

Without being born again, converted, you will not see the kingdom of God.

 

Rom.5[9]…, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him

 

It is good to always examine ourselves and prove all things

 

2 Cor. 13 [5] Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Yeshua the Messiah is in you, except ye be reprobates?

 

1 Thes. 5 [21] Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
