February -- month of Februa

Middle English Februarius
Latin
Februarius "of Februa"
Latin
Februa(s) "Februa" + -arius "ary (pertaining to)"
Latin
Februarius mensis "month of Februa"
Latin dies
februatus "day of purification"

Februarius had 28 days, until circa 450 BC when it had 23 or 24 days on some of every second year, until Julius when it had 29 days on every fourth year and 28 days otherwise.

We acknowledge God’s calendar

We are now in the eleventh month, which is called Sebat, ׁShevat, 24th day

שְׁבָט

NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) - Two people were killed in a shooting during a popular parade in New Orleans, police said on Friday, in an event shaking the city as it prepares for additional revelry culminating in Mardi Gras on Tuesday.

Catholic website

The original intent of Mardi Gras has always been to indulge, within the context of Catholic morality and reason, the last day before the start of the Lenten season. Here, it is appropriate to mention that while Lent is a season of self-sacrifice and repentance…

Today’s topic:

We always need - Forgiveness

Lev.19 [17] Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.

Lev.19 [18] Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am Yehovah.

Jas.5 [9] Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

-----------------------

Yeshua said:

Matt.18 [15] Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee,

1 - go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

2 - [16] But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

3 - [17] And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church (the Minister):

4 -  but if he neglect to hear the church (the Minister), let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

----------------------

Matt.19 [19] Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Matt. [36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

[37] Yeshua said unto him, Thou shalt love the Yehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

[38] This is the first and great commandment.

[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

[40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Recorded also in Mark’s Gospel

Mark.12 [28] And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

[29] And Yeshua answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Yehovah our God is one Yehovah:
[30] And thou shalt love the Yehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

[31] And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

There is none other commandment greater than these.

-------------------------

Rom.13 [9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Gal.5 [13] For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
[14] For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

[15] But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

[16] This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
[17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
[18] But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
[19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
[24] And they that are Messiah's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
[25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
[26] Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Forgiven sin

Pss. 25 [18] Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

Pss. 32 [1] Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.[2] Blessed is the man unto whom Yehovah imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Pss. 85 [2] Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah.

Pss. 86 [5] For thou, my Yehovah, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

Pss. 103[1] Bless Yehovah, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
[2] Bless Yehovah, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
[3] Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
[4] Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
[5] Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Pss. 130[1] Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, Yehovah.
[2] Yehovah, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
[3] If thou, Yehovah, shouldest mark iniquities, Yehovah, who shall stand?
[4] But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
[5] I wait for Yehovah, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
[6] My soul waiteth for Yehovah more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
[7] Let Israel hope in Yehovah: for with Yehovah there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
[8] And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Dan. 9 [9] Yehovah our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;

[19] Yehovah, hear; Yehovah, forgive; Yehovah, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

Matt. 6 [9] After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
[10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
[11] Give us this day our daily bread.
[12] And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
[13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
[14] For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
[15] But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matt. 18 [21] Then came Peter to him, and said, Yehovah, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

[22] Yeshua saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

[23] Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
[24] And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
[25] But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his Yehovah commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
[26] The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Yehovah, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
[27] Then the Yehovah of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
[28] But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
[29] And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
[30] And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
[31] So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their Yehovah all that was done.
[32] Then his Yehovah, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
[33] Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
[34] And his Yehovah was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
[35] So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Mark 11[22] And Yeshua answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
[23] For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
[24] Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
[25] And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
[26] But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Luke 6 [35] But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
[36] Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

[37] Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and you shall be forgiven:

Luke 17 [1] Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

[2] It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

[3] Take heed to yourselves:

If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
[4] And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Matt. 12 [31] Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.[32] And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Eph.4 [32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Messiah's sake hath forgiven you.

1 John 1 [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Rom.12 [9] Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
[10] Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Dissimulation: the act of dissimulating; feigning; hypocrisy, to disguise or conceal under a false appearance; dissemble: to conceal one's true motives, thoughts, etc., by some pretense; speak or act hypocritically, to give a false or misleading appearance to; conceal the truth or real nature of: to put on the appearance of; feign: to represent fictitiously

-----------------------

Col.3 [12] Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; [13] Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as the Messiah forgave you, so also do ye.

[14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
[15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

2Pet.1 [1] Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Yeshua the Messiah:
[2] Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Yeshua our Yehovah,
[3] According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
[4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
[5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
[6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
[7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

Now, a part of the life of Joseph and his brothers that seemed to have done him wrong.

Gen. 49 [33] And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.

Gen. 50

[1] And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.
[2] And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel.
[3] And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.
[4] And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,
[5] My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again.
[6] And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made thee swear.
[7] And Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,
[8] And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.
[9] And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen: and it was a very great company.
[10] And they came to the threshingfloor of Atad, which is beyond Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation: and he made a mourning for his father seven days.

[11] And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the floor of Atad, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians: wherefore the name of it was called Abel-mizraim, which is beyond Jordan.
[12] And his sons did unto him according as he commanded them:
[13] For his sons carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the cave of the field of Machpelah, which Abraham bought with the field for a possession of a buryingplace of Ephron the Hittite, before Mamre.
[14] And Joseph returned into Egypt, he, and his brethren, and all that went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.

[15] And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.
[16] And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying,
[17] So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father.

And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

[18] And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants.
[19] And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
[20] But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
[21] Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones.

And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

[22] And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.

[23] And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.

[24] And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
[25] And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.
[26] So Joseph died, being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.

We all need to forgive truly so our Father in Heaven can forgive us.
