 Shabbat Shalom

 שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Let’s pray

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

Today is August 30, 2014

August -- Augustus Caesar's month

Latin Augustus "Augustus"
Latin Augustus mensis "month of Augustus"
Latin
sextilis mensis "sixth month"

Sextilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself.

God has His own calendar

We are now in the sixth month of God called Elul, 3rd day

These 2 verses below indicated to us Elul must be the 6th month

Neh. 6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul,

אֱלוּל  in fifty and two days.

Neh. 7 [73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

Today's Topic

Imagine?

Back in my early days there was a music group called the Beatles

We always injoy the Beatles 's music

Going over some of John Lennon's Lyrics to the song "Imagine"

Imagine:

there's no heaven

No hell below us

there's no countries

no religion too

the world will be as one

no possessions

-----------

** remember he had more millions then you can imagine

all I can say is, I don't have to imagine there's no John Lennon

--------------------------

And then there are the scriptures:

People imagining evil things against the people of God or God himself is no new event

Imagine

Nah.1 [9] What do ye imagine against Yehovah?

Zech.7

[8] And the word of Yehovah came unto Zechariah, saying,
[9] Thus speaketh Yehovah of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
[10] And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.

Prov.6

[16] These six things doth Yehovah hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
[17] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
[18] An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
[19] A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Job.21 [27] Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which you wrongfully imagine against me

Pss.10 [2] The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

Pss.2

[1] Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
[2] The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yehovah, and against his anointed, saying,
[3] Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
[4] He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: Yehovah shall have them in derision.
[5] Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
[6] Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
[7] I will declare the decree: Yehovah hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
[8] Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
[9] Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
[10] Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
[11] Serve Yehovah with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
[12] Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Pss.21

[1] The king shall joy in thy strength, O Yehovah; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
[2] Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
[3] For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
[4] He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
[5] His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
[6] For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
[7] For the king trusteth in Yehovah, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
[8] Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
[9] Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: Yehovah shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
[10] Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
[11] For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
[12] Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
[13] Be thou exalted, Yehovah, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

Pss.38[12] They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

Pss.62 [3] How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

Pss.140

[1] Deliver me, O Yehovah, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;
[2] Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.
[3] They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison is under their lips. Selah.
[4] Keep me, O Yehovah, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
[5] The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.
[6] I said unto Yehovah, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Yehovah.
[7] O GOD Yehovah, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.
[8] Grant not, O Yehovah, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.
[9] As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
[10] Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
[11] Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
[12] I know that Yehovah will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
[13] Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

Prov.12

[1] Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
[2] A good man obtaineth favour of Yehovah: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
[3] A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
[4] A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
[5] The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
[6] The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
[7] The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
[8] A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
[9] He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
[10] A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
[11] He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
[12] The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
[13] The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
[14] A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
[15] The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
[16] A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
[17] He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
[18] There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
[19] The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
[20] Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellers of peace is joy.
[21] There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
[22] Lying lips are abomination to Yehovah: but they that deal truly are his delight.
[23] A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
[24] The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
[25] Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
[26] The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
[27] The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
[28] In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Jer.11

[1] The word that came to Jeremiah from Yehovah, saying,
[2] Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
[3] And say thou unto them, Thus saith Yehovah God of Israel; Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant,
[4] Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
[5] That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O Yehovah.
[6] Then Yehovah said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.
[7] For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.
[8] Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do; but they did them not.
[9] And Yehovah said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
[10] They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
[11] Therefore thus saith Yehovah, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them.
[12] Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.
[13] For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.
[14] Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.

Jer.13[10] This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.

Jer.16 [12] And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:
[13] Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour.

Jer.18[12] And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

Jer.23[17] They say still unto them that despise me, Yehovah hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

Lam.3[60] Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.

[61] Thou hast heard their reproach, O Yehovah, and all their imaginations against me;[62] The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

-------------------

Rom.1[21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

We should cast down evil imaginations

Cor.10

[1] Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Messiah, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:
[2] But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
[3] For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
[4] (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
[5] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Messiah;
[6] And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Amos.3 [3] Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

Luke 16

[1] And he said also unto his disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.
[2] And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.
[3] Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
[4] I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
[5] So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?
[6] And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.
[7] Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.
[8] And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
[9] And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

[10] He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
[11] If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
[12] And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

[13] No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Beware of the prince of the power of the air, a spirit

Eph.2

[1] And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
[2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
[3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Luke.8

[11] Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
[12] Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Spirit of insanity

Matt.17 [15] Yehovah, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.

[16] And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
[17] Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
[18] And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
[19] Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
[20] And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
[21] Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

lunatic: noun -  an insane person,  a person whose actions and manner are marked by extreme eccentricity, an oddity or peculiarity, as of conduct: or recklessness: utterly unconcerned about the consequences of some action; without caution; careless

Scriptural medication

1Cor.15 [34] Awake to righteousness, and sin not

Jas.4 [7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Eph.4

[1] I therefore, the prisoner of Yehovah, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
[2] With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
[3] Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

[4] There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
[5] One Yehovah, one faith, one baptism,
[6] One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

[7] But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Messiah.

[8] Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

[9] (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

[10] He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

[11] And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
[12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Messiah:
[13] Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Messiah:
[14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
[15] But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Messiah:
[16] From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

[17] This I say therefore, and testify in Yehovah, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
[18] Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
[19] Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

[20] But ye have not so learned Messiah;
[21] If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
[22] That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
[23] And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
[24] And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
[25] Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

[26] Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
[27] Neither give place to the devil.
[28] Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

[29] Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

[30] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

[31] Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
[32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Messiah's sake hath forgiven you.

------------------

We have to remember:

John.15[20] Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than Yehovah. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
