Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

Today is May 17, 2014

May -- Maia's month

Old English Maius - Maius has always had 31 days.

Latin Maius of Maia" - Latin Maius mensis "month of Maia"

Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

----

God has His own calendar

We are now in the 2nd month of God, Ziv / Zif – 17th day

1 Kgs. 6 [1] And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yehovah.

זִו - ziv - brightness, (figuratively) the month of flowers

***Make sure you change your Judaism calendars – The 2nd month is not Iyyar as Judaism states, it is Ziv.

--------

We are spiritually on a seven week journey that we observe, in memorial to meet God again on Mt. Sinai to receive the commandments and receive the Spirit of God.

From slaves in Egypt (our last lives of sin) to the people of God

The giving of the Law (10 commandments) and the giving of the Holy Spirit

-----------------

We were told to count "Sabbaths" not omers

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley, עמר  omer  - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

Lev.23 [15] And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

[16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

---------------------------

 **Remember**

Feast of Weeks, Hag Sh'vu-ot - חַג שָׁבֻעֹת

Feast of Harvest (wheat) Hag ha katseer - חַג הַקָּצִיר

Pentecost πεντηκοστή - pentēkoste

is coming

Remember: The Feast of Weeks – the 3rd month Sivan - Sunday - June 8 starts the evening of June 7th - (There are 2 Sabbaths in a row)

This Feast is always on the 1st day of the week known as Sunday

--------------

50 days from First Fruits, the resurrection of Messiah:

Feast of Weeks “Offering time”

How are you behaving these 50 days? (Physically and Spiritually)

This Sabbath is the “fourth Sabbath” of the seven Sabbaths we were told to count.

-------------

Today’s Topic:

It is, was written in TaNaKh, the Scriptures

The Word of God, the Scriptures - Torah, Prophets and Psalms / Writings

Torah (law, teachings)

Ta Na Kk is an acronym for:

T = Torah - first 5 books of Moses

N = Navi' eem or prophets (pl. sounds like - Na vi eem)

K = Ke'tuvim or writings (psalms etc.)

At this point, there were neither gospels nor letters.

-----------------------

Moses received the Words from Yehovah and relayed it to the people

Josh. 1 [7] Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

[8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Mal. 4[4] Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

Yeshua said: Think not

Matt.5 [17] Think not that I, Yeshua am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

--------------

Prov.30 [5 ] Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

------------

Deut. 8 [3] And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of Yehovah doth man live.

Matt. 4 [4] But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luke 4 [4] And Yeshua answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

This was quoted from Deut. 8:3 above

------------------

Deut. 19 [15] One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

2 Cor. 13 [1] This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

Paul quoted Deut 19:15 above.

-------------

Notice how the term, “The law and the prophetsis always used.

Matt.7 [ 12] Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Matt.22 [ 40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets .

Luke.16 [ 16] The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. Book of Malachi

John.1 [ 45] Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Yeshua of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Acts 13 [ 15] And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

Eph.2 [18] For through him, the Messiah we both (Jews and Gentiles) have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
[19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
[20] And
are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Yeshua the Messiah himself being the chief corner stone;
[21] In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in Yehovah:
[22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

-----------------------------

There are many scriptures from TaNaK quoted in the Gospels, Acts, the letters and Revelation.

We believe all are authoritative and written by holy men of God.

They all record many interactions of the Holy Spirit, many words of Yeshua, many miracles and prophesy future events not happened yet.

Here is where the problem comes in: Most pseudo Messiahian churches do not understand the epistles, letters because they do not know Torah.

They threw away TaKaK, the word of God, which is  77% of their Bibles and separated themselves from the children of God (the people in the TaNaK).

The churches quote the letters, epistles out of the context of the TaNaK; This is the reason there are so many different churches, whether Catholic or Protestant, denominational or non-denominational.

You cannot read the letters, epistles without understanding of Torah.

One example would be: every time they read the word "law" they understand it to be Torah and commandments and throw it away.

However, we understand that the word "law" can be defined according to the context of the chapter many different ways.

It can mean, the Commandments, the sacrificial system, judgments, or ordinances. Most of the time it is the Levitical priesthood system of atonement which was a shadow of the coming Messiah.

Most churches cannot determine what has been fulfilled in Torah.

Example: Judgment belongs to Messiah now, atonement is now the blood of Messiah, and we are now the temple of Yehovah

Why do they throw away the Commandments and ordinances? You can’t fulfill commandments, etc. Commandments and ordinances are not against you.

They have thrown out the Sabbath, the calendar of God, the appointed days and Feasts of Yehovah, clean and unclean - just to mention a few.

We were told to live by 100% of the Word, TaNaKh, the Scriptures.

 ------------------

Let’s look at the Bible we have today

Yeshua used the term: The law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms

39 books – TaNaKh - the Scriptures

Luke 24 [44] And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Matt. 4 [4] But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Here are a few scriptures with the term: the scripture (s)

Notice how many times, “the Scriptures” is used

Dan. 10 [21] But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

Matt.21[42] Yeshua saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Matt.22[29] Yeshua answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

Matt.26[54] But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

[56] But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

Mark.12[10] And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:[24] And Yeshua answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

Mark.14[49] I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

Mark.15[28] And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

Luke.4[21] And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Luke.24[27] And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

[32] And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

[45] Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

John.2[22] When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Yeshua had said.

John.5[39] Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

John.7[38] He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

[42] Hath not the scripture said, That Messiah cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?

John.10[35] If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

John.13[18] I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

John.17[12] While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

John.19[24] They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

[28] After this, Yeshua knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

[36] For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

[37] And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

John.20[9] For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

Acts.1[16] Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Yeshua.

Acts.8[32] The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

[35] Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Yeshua.

Acts.17[2] And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

[11] These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Acts.18[24] And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

[28] For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Yeshua was Messiah.

Rom.1[2] (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)

Rom.4[3] For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Rom.9[17] For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

Rom.10[11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Rom.11[2] God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

Rom.15[4] For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Rom.16[26] But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

1Cor.15[3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Messiah died for our sins according to the scriptures;

[4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Gal.3[8] And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

[22] But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Yeshua Messiah might be given to them that believe.

Gal.4[30] Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.

1Tim.5[18] For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

2Tim.3[15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Messiah Yeshua.

[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Jas.2[8] If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

[23] And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Jas.4[5] Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?

1Pet.2[6] Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

2Pet.1[20] Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

2Pet.3[16] As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Let’s go over the books in the bible we have today

Torah – the Law of Moses that God gave him

Books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy

Remember, Yeshua used the term: The law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms.

The term: “law of Moses”

Luke.2[22] And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

Luke.24[44] And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

John.7[23] If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day?

Acts.13[39] And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Acts.15[5] But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

Acts.28[23] And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Yeshua, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

1Cor.9[9] For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?

The Prophets, the Writings / psalms

Book of Ruth

Book of 1 Samuel, Book of 2 Samuel

Also notice how people from TaNaKh are mentioned below:

Book of 1 Kings – Elijah / Elias

Matt.16[14] And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

Matt.17[3] And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.[4] Then answered Peter, and said unto Yeshua, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

[10] And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?[11] And Yeshua answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.[12] But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

Matt.27[47] Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

[49] The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

Mark.6[15] Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

Mark.8[28] And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

Mark.9[4] And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Yeshua.[5] And Peter answered and said to Yeshua, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

[11] And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come?[12] And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.[13] But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

Mark.15[35] And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.[36] And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.

Luke.1[17] And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

Luke.4[25] But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;[26] But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

Luke.9[8] And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.

[19] They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

[30] And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

[33] And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Yeshua, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

[54] And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

John.1[21] And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

[25] And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Messiah, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

Rom.11[2] God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

Jas.5[17] Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

[29] And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

Rom.10[16] But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?[20] But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

Rom.15[12] And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

In conclusion: This study is by no means finished, just a sample.

I hope you can see that all the people in the Bible that we read about today, quoted from the TaNaKh – Genesis to Malachi.

So don’t throw away the Sabbaths, Holy days and Feasts of Yehovah anymore.

Remember: The Feast of Weeks – the 3rd month Sivan - Sunday - June 8, 2014 starts the evening of June 7th - (There are 2 Sabbaths in a row)

We, in the last 1900 plus years are fortunate to have the words of Yeshua the Messiah also in the Gospels.

By the way,

Bible Books/ letters = 66 or 12 or 3

TaNaK = 39 books or 12 or 3

1 John 5 [7] For there are “three” that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
