 Let’s pray

 --------------------------------------------

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

May 9, 2015

May -- Maia's month

Old French Mai
Old English Maius
Latin Maius "of Maia"
Latin Maius mensis "month of Maia"

Maius has always had 31 days.

Maia (meaning "the great one") is the Italic goddess of spring, the daughter of Faunus, and wife of Vulcan.

 -----------------

We acknowledge God’s calendar

We are now in:

זִו   Ziv, which is the second month, 19th day

1Kgs.6 [1] And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yehovah.

ziv - brightness, (figuratively) the month of flowers

***Make sure you change your Judaism calendars – The 2nd month is not Iyyar as Judaism states, it is Ziv.

Just a reminder:

We are counting the "Sabbaths" not omers

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley -עמר   omer - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

-------------

Lev.23 [15] And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete:

 [16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

7 Sabbaths from first fruits plus one day, or 50 days later is May 24, 2015, Sunday, the feast of weeks, Pentecost, a Sabbath

This is our fifth Sabbath of the 7 Sabbaths we were told to count.

A "7" week journey to meet God again (Spiritually)

  How are you doing?

Today’s topic:

Law and Order -  in scripture

There are many different judges, offices and officers in scripture

Here are a few:

Scripture speaks of the office of a midwife

Scripture speaks many times of the priest's office

Exod.28 [1] And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.

Heb.7 [5] And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood

Deut.16 [18] Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which Yehovah thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

-------------------------

Rom.12

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

[3] For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

[4] For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:

[5] So we, being many, are one body in Messiah, and every one members one of another.

[6] Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

[7] Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

[8] Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

[9] Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

[10] Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

[11] Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

Slothful:

Prov.12 [24] The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

[27] The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

 [19] The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.

Prov.18 [9] He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.

Prov.19 [15] Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

[24] A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

Prov.21 [25] The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.

Prov.22 [13] The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.

Prov.24 [30] I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
[31] And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
[32] Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
[33] Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
[34] So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Prov.26 [13] The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets.

[14] As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.

[15] The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth.

-----------------

Ecc. 10 [18] By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.

Back to Rom.12

[12] Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

[13] Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

[14] Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

[15] Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

[16] Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate.

Be not wise in your own conceits.

[17] Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

[18] If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

[19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
[20] Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

[21] Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

-------------------------

Tit.1

[1] Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
[2] In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
[3] But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

[4] To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah our Saviour.

[5] For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

[6] If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

[7] For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

[8] But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

[9] Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

[10] For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
[11] Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

[12] One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

[13] This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

[14] Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

[15] Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
[16] They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

--------------------

1Tim.3

[1] This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

[2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

[3] Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

[4] One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

[5] For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?

[6] Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil

.
[7] Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

[8] Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

[9] Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

[10] And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

[11] Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

[12] Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

[13] For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Messiah Yeshua.

[14] These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:

[15] But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

[16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

---------------------

Phil.1

[1] Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Yeshua the Messiah, to all the saints in Messiah Yeshua which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:

--------------------

Marriage is a 2 way street

Eph.5 [21] Submit yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

[22] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

[23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Messiah is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

[24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Messiah, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

[25] Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

[26] That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

[27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

[28] So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

[29] For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

[30] For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

[31] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
[32] This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Messiah and the church.

[33] Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

---------------------

Col.3 [12] Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
[13] Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Messiah forgave you, so also do ye.
[14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
[15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
[16] Let the word of Messiah dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
[17] And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

[18] Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

[19] Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

[20] Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

[21] Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

[22] Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:

[23] And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
[24] Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Messiah.
[25] But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

-----------------------

Remember:

1Tim.5 [8] But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Let’s return unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls - Messiah
