Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

Today is February 2, 2019 - in the 21 Century

February -- month of Februa

Middle English Februarius
Latin Februarius "of Februa"
Latin Februa(s) "Februa" + -arius "ary (pertaining to)"
Latin Februarius mensis "month of Februa"
Latin dies februatus "day of purification"

Februarius had 28 days, until circa 450 BC when it had 23 or 24 days on some of every second year, until Julius when it had 29 days on every fourth year and 28 days otherwise.

Februa is the Roman festival of purification, held on February fifteenth. It is possibly of Sabine origin.

The Sabines - Latin: Sabini; Ancient Greek: Σαβῖνοι Sabĩnoi; Italian: Sabini, all were an Italic people that lived in the central Apennine Mountains of ancient Italy, also inhabiting Latium north of the Anio before the founding of Rome.

The Sabines divided into two populations just after the founding of Rome, which is described by Roman legend. The division, however it came about, is not legendary. The population closer to Rome transplanted itself to the new city and united with the preexisting citizenry, beginning a new heritage that descended from the Sabines but was also Latinized. The second population remained a mountain tribal state, coming finally to war against Rome for its independence along with all the other Italic tribes. After losing, it became assimilated into the Roman Republic.

Yehovah has His own calendar:

We are now in Sh'vat / Shevat, the 11 month - the 26th day

Messiah Yeshua is God in the flesh

No human can die for the sins of another; a human being can not be a sacrifice for anything…

No person can die for you

Pss.49 [7] None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:

Mic.6 [7] Will Yehovah be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

[8] He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

2Chr.25 [4] But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where Yehovah commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.

Deut.24
[16] The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.[31] And Moses returned unto Yehovah, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
[32] Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
[33] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

------------------------------------------

Who is the first and the last?

Isa.41 [4] Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I Yehovah, the first, and with the last; I am he.

Isa.48 [12] Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

Rev.1 [17] And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

Rev.1 [4] John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

[8] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. [11] Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

[16] I Yeshua have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Rev.21 [6] And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Rev.22 [13] I Yeshua am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

The Word is God

John.1 [1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

[13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us
, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 20:[25] The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
[26] And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Yeshua, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
[27] Then saith he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

[28] And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.[29] Yeshua saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

John.10 [30] I, Yeshua and my Father are one

John.5 [22] For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son, the Word, Yeshua

Phil 2.[6] Messiah, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
[7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
[8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Eph. 1:[20] … The Father raised Yeshua from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,[21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:[22] And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,[23] Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Eph. 3: [9] And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Yeshua the Messiah:[10] To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,[11] According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Messiah Yeshua our Lord…

Messiah is God in the flesh and died for our sins

Isa.53 [5] But Messiah was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. [8] He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. [12] Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and Messiah bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Rom.5 [6] For when we were yet without strength, in due time Messiah died for the ungodly. [8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Messiah died for us.

1Cor.15 [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Messiah died for our sins according to the scriptures…

Gal.1 [4] Messiah gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father…

1John.2 [2] And Messiah is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1John.4 [10] Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

------

Messiah is not just a man – He never sinned

1Pet.1 [19] But with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

2Cor.5 [21] For the Father hath made Yeshua to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Heb.4 [15] For we have not an high priest Messiah - which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

1Pet.2 [22] Messiah did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

1John.3 [5] And ye know that Messiah was manifested to take away our sins; and in him Messiah is no sin.

Who is the?

Stone of Israel  אֶבֶן יִשְׂרָאֵל

Rock of Israel צוּר יִשְׂרָאֵל

Shepherd of Israel רֹעֵה יִשְׂרָאֵל

Holy One of Israel קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל

Isa.44 [6] Thus saith Yehovah the King of Israel, and his redeemer Yehovah of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside Me there is no God.

[8] Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God,  I know not any.

Gen.49 [22] Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
[23] The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:
[24] But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel

Pss.23 [1] Yehovah is my shepherd;

I shall not want.[2] He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
[3] He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
[4] Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
[5] Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
[6] Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of Yehovah for ever.

Pss.80 [1] Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.

Isa.40 [9] O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
[10] Behold, the Lord Yehovah will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.[11] He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Jer.31 [10] Hear the word of Yehovah, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

Zech.13 [7] Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith Yehovah of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.

Mark.14 [27] And Yeshua saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

Ezek.37 [24] And David (Messiah) my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

Pss.89[1] I will sing of the mercies of Yehovah for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
[2] For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.
[3] I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,
[4] Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.
[35] Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.
[36] His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me.

Pss.132 [11] Yehovah hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

Matt.25 [32] And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

Matt.26 [31] Then saith Yeshua unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

John.10:[1] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
[2] But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
[3] To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
[4] And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
[5] And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
[6] This parable spake Yeshua unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
[7] Then said Yeshua unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
[8] All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
[9] I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
[10] The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
[11] I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
[12] But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
[13] The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
[14] I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
[15] As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
[16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Heb.13 [20] Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Yeshua, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

1Pet.2 [25] For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

1Pet.5 [4] And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Messiah is the Rock and Saviour, thy Redeemer

2Sam.22 [3] The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

2Kgs.13 [5] (And Yehovah gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.

Pss.106 [21] They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;

Isa.19 [20] And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto Yehovah of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto Yehovah because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.

Isa.43 [3] For I am Yehovah thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. [11] I, even I, am Yehovah; and beside me there is no saviour.

Isa.45 [15] Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. [21] Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I Yehovah? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.

Isa.49 [26] And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I Yehovah am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Hos.13 [4] Yet I am Yehovah thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

Luke.1 [47] And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Luke.2 [11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Messiah the Lord.

John.4 [42] And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Messiah, the Saviour of the world.

Eph.5 [23] For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Messiah is the head of the church: and Messiah is the saviour of the body.

Phil.3 [20] For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Yeshua the Messiah:

1Tim.1 [1] Paul, an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Yeshua the Messiah, which is our hope;

1Tim.2 [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

1Tim.4 [10] For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

2Tim.1 [10] But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Yeshua the Messiah, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Tit.1 [3] But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

[4] To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah our Saviour.

Tit.2 [10] Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

[13] Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Yeshua the Messiah;

Tit.3 [4] But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared…

[6] Which he shed on us abundantly through Yeshua the Messiah our Saviour;

2Pet.1 [1] Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Yeshua the Messiah…

[11] For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Yeshua the Messiah.

2Pet.2 [20] For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Yeshua the Messiah, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

2Pet.3 [2] That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour

[18] But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Yeshua the Messiah. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

1John.4 [14] And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Yeshua is Messiah, God in the flesh created all things

Gen.49 [10] The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh (Messiah) come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

Isa.9 [6] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Eph.3 [9] And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Yeshua the Messiah:

Phil.2 [6] Messiah, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:[7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:[8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.[9] Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:[10] That at the name of Yeshua every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;[11] And that every tongue should confess that Yeshua the Messiah is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

1Cor.15
[17] And if Messiah be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

Col.1 [15] Messiah is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:[16] For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Prov.8 [23] Messiah was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

[24] When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
[25] Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
[26] While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
[27] When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
[28] When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
[29] When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
[30] Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
[31] Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
[32] Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
[33] Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
[34] Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
[35] For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of Yehovah.
[36] But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death

Pss.45 [6] Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

Heb.1 [8] But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Heb.1:[1] God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
[2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son
, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
[3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
[4] Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
[5] For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Pss.2 [7] I will declare the decree: Yehovah hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

[6] And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
[7] And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
[8] But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
[9] Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
[10] And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
[11] They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
[12] And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
[13] But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
[14] Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Again God was manifest in the flesh, Yeshua

This study came about as I hear many people are being deceived today by anti-missionaries with their fake Hebrew façade, as they befriend you.

They say that they know more accurately what the Scriptures say.

If this was true, they would not have missed hundreds of prophecies pertaining to the Messiah in the Hebrew Scripture.

Scripture is very clear that Yeshua is the Messiah and His shed blood is the only atonement for sin today and forever.

There are no more sacrifices for sin to be performed today or in the future and anti-missionaries, Karaites have no sacrifice for sin until they repent and accept the only true Messiah, Yeshua and His shed blood.

Without Yeshua you have no atonement!

I smell a rat dressed up as your brother or sister.

Yeshua is not a Karaite, nor is He a Sadducee

Some people are believing this nonsense and losing their souls

Reworked from the net

Karaites erroneously trace their origins to the Sadducees

Some karaites explicitly subvert the biblical teachings on who Yeshua was, the Word of God made flesh, and are covertly leading believers in Yeshua the Messiah, the Word of God made flesh, away from their true faith.

Some karaites are devoted students of the Karaite teacher Mordecai Alfandari who was a very vocal anti-missionary (a Jewish leader who seeks to undermine believers in Yeshua and draw Jewish people away from belief in Yeshua as the Messiah, God in the flesh.

Being raised as Orthodox in Karaite Judaism or Judaism does not merit the only salvation in Messiah shed blood.

Being a Prominent promoter of Karaism does not merit the only salvation in Messiah’s shed blood.

Holding a master's degree in Biblical studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem does not merit the only salvation in Messiah’s shed blood.

Speaking Hebrew or translating Hebrew does not merit the only salvation in Messiah’s s not hed blood.

Authoring or coauthoring books on Yeshua and openly rejecting Yeshua as Messiah does not merit the only salvation in Messiah’s shed blood.

Having affiliations with Messianic Jews and with other Christian groups, groups with some pre-existing affinity toward Jewish identity and practice does not merit the only salvation in Messiah’s shed blood.

Some karaites undermine the authority and reliability of the Gospels and Letters as we have them today and seek to promote the idea that Yeshua was, in fact, a sort of proto-karaite whose real message was simply, that people should obey the law of Moses while rejecting the oral human traditions of the Pharisees.

As so many people before have their motives, so the people of today have their motives and are still polluting the Word of God.

While looking for the "real, historical Yeshua" that is hidden from us Gospels and Letters, they say, they find a Yeshua that instead looks an awful lot like, a Karaite or whatever of today.

As you see, when their assumptions are in error, so their conclusions will also be in error.

We always find our answers in the underline text they are using for their study, the secret Hebrew original. Not, lol

Hebrew Matthew and The Real Yeshua?

Here are some so called claims:

1. A 14th Century Jewish physician in Spain named Shem-Tov published a work in Hebrew presenting arguments against Roman Catholicism. In this work, he quoted from Matthew in Hebrew.

2. A study was published by an associate professor of religion at the university of Georgia named George Howard claiming that the text of Matthew quoted by Shem-Tov was written originally in Hebrew and goes back very early in church history.

3. The early church writer Papias claims that Matthew was originally written in Hebrew and was translated badly into Greek and other languages.

4. Shem-Tov's text shows signs of corruption where people attempted over the years to change it to fit the Greek text, so anywhere it agrees with the Greek we can assume is a corruption in the text, but anywhere it disagrees with the Greek may be the Hebrew original of Matthew and so should be preferred to the traditional New Testament reading.

5. Therefore, we should use this medieval Hebrew text to reinterpret the words of Yeshua and see him in a new light.

No!

Information below was taken from our friend Richard Rives. Too long in the sun website

HEBREW MATTHEW - Shem Tov - du Tillet – Munster

Are we to believe and trust these references by Origen and his student Eusebius?

It was Origen was deceived by education and philosophy who upon receipt of pure copies of scripture altered them to parallel his twisted thinking.

He is the father of all Bible critics and is not only responsible for the physical manuscripts which delete such verses as Luke 24:40, Acts 8:37 and I John 5:7, but he is also responsible for the Alexandrian philosophy parroted by so many of our fundamental scholars who claim that "The Bible is perfect and infallible" with one breath and then state "The Bible has mistakes and mistranslations" with the very next. It is this demented ideology that gave birth to the corrupt Alexandrian manuscripts in the first place.

"As having learnt by tradition concerning the four Gospels, which alone are unquestionable in the Church of God under heaven, that first was written according to Matthew, who was once a tax collector but afterwards an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, who published it for those who from Judaism came to believe, composed as it was in the Hebrew language." - Origen (Eusebius, H.E. 6.25.4)

"Matthew collected the oracles (ta logia) in the Hebrew language, and each interpreted them as best he could." - Papias (Eusebius, H.E. 3.39.16)

--------------

Beware of those who present the Shem Tov version of Matthew as an accurate representation of a manuscript.

Many believers in Messiah Yeshua are being led by unbelievers to accept an unscriptural version of pseudo Hebrew Matthew which was found as a part of a polemic document entitled Eban Bohan.

This document was authored by Shem Tob, an unbelieving Jewish theologian.

Many unbelievers are going around the country promoting this trash.

Remember - we don't have an early copy of Shem-Tob's work.

But

Quoting Professor George Howard, translator of Shem Tob:

In regard to theology, Shem-tob’s Hebrew Matthew is heretical according to the standard of traditional Christianity.

It never identifies Yeshua with the Messiah.

John the Baptist is given an exalted role (even takes on messianic traits),

Shem-Tob’s text envisions the salvation of the Gentiles only in the Messianic era.

-----------------------------

Shem Tob ben Shaprut of Tudela Castle – Spain, 1385 - 14th Century

Wrote a polemical work against Christianity entitled Eben Bohan (The Touchstone)

Matthew is a separate chapter of Eben Bohan

A cursive manuscript of Eben Bohan can be found at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America - New York

Munster

Sebastian Munster

1537 confiscated from the Jews

Some think Munster and du Tillet to be from the same source

Munster filled in missing portions and made no notes as to which parts he added.

Shem Tob and du Tillet are different texts. They do not always agree.

Munster disagrees with Shem Tob.

They do not always agree Jerome speaks of a Hebrew Matthew among the Nazarenes in Jordan who fled Jerusalem.

Jerome quotes that text and Professor George Howard who translated Shem Tob says that Jeromes quotes do not match Shem Tob.

Epiphanius qoutes Ebionite Hebrew Matthew. His quotes do not match Shem Tob.

The tetragrammaton does not appear in Shem Tob or in du Tillet.

In Shem Tob it is written as Heh or something and two Yods signifying Ha Shem or The Name.

In du Tillet it is written as three Yods.

Mat 21:32 "Because John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him."

In Shem Tob - addressed to the disciples instead of the chief priests and elders

----------------------

Quoting Professor George Howard, translator of Shem Tob:

In summary, this series of readings asserts that none is greater than John, the prophets and the law spoke concerning John,

John (Elijah) is to save all the world, and Yeshua’ own disciples are disgraced for not having believed John.

In traditional Christianity such a description is usually applied to Yeshua.

Its application to John the Baptist in Shem Tob’s Hebrew, elevates the Baptist to a salvation role.

Again…

Quoting Professor George Howard, translator of Shem Tob:

In regard to theology, Shem-tob’s Hebrew Matthew is heretical according to the standard of traditional Christianity.

It never identifies Yeshua with the Messiah.

John the Baptist is given an exalted role (even takes on messianic traits),

Shem-Tob’s text envisions the salvation of the Gentiles only in a Messianic era.

---------------------

Remember: Karaites still do not believe Yeshua to be the Messiah; like all Karaites they are in error and eagerly await the coming of the anointed Davidic king, who came already, who will reign as king over Israel, ushering in an era of eternal peace, then they quote (Isaiah 11; Ezekiel 34:24-25; even Luke 1:32-33).

To their knowledge Yeshua has yet to fulfill this fundamental criterion of the Davidic Messiah.

Remember, when the entire premise is flawed, so is the conclusion

You can’t start with your own conclusion and then judge the so-called biblical sources you are using, to tell whether or not they agree with your assumptions.

2Tim.3 [16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: [17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

By Yeshua’s own authority He taught, something no mere Karaite calling people back to an older form of Torah observance could ever do.

Yeshua claimed to be the Messiah, the word of God made flesh

Yeshua worked great miracles, rose from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and foretold His future return.

He was not a mere "good teacher"- Yeshua was God in the flesh – Immanuel

Yeshua was and is the Messiah, son of David, and the divine Son, Word of Yehovah made flesh, Lord of all things

No medieval translation, especially one like the HEBREW MATTHEW - Shem Tob - du Tillet – Munster, that is in error, can change what Yeshua said or who Yeshua truly was, the Messiah, the Word of God made flesh.

Isa.7 [14] Therefore Yehovah Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Matt.1 [23] Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Yeshua has to be the Messiah - מָשִׁיחַ

Let’s look at:

1. When Messiah had to come.

2. The Temple had to be standing.

3. Messiah is the messenger of the covenant

4. Elijah the prophet came - Mal. 3:1, 4:5 אֵלִיָּה הַנָּבִיא

5. Elijah was the messenger, forerunner sent before Yeshua fulfilled in John

7. Yeshua foretold of the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple הֵיכַל

8. Messiah has to be Yeshua.

Here it is in a nutshell:

Haggai 2:7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations (Messiah)  shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith Yehovah of hosts.
[8] The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Yehovah of hosts.
[9] The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith Yehovah of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith Yehovah of hosts.

Malachi confirms the prediction in Haggai Chap. 2 verses 7- 9

Malachi Chap. 3 verse 1 “The Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple”.

This prediction in Malachi, as well as the one in Haggai, could not be fulfilled after the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D.

So, if the Messiah came at all, He had to come before the second temple was destroyed.

Zechariah Chap. 11 verse 13 also demands that the Messiah come before the destruction of the temple, for that prediction speaks of “the thirty pieces of silver” being “cast to the potter in the House of the Lord [the temple]” (Zechariah Chap. 11 verse 13).

Matt.27 [3] Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders…

In Psalm 118 verse 26 tells us that the people that came, welcome the Messiah would say not only “Blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord,” but also “We have blessed you out of the House of the Lord” (Psalm Chap. 118 verse 26).

That is, from the House of the Lord (the Temple) the people will bless Him when He comes.

This was fulfilled in the life of Yeshua.

When He approached Jerusalem for His triumphal entry, the people said, “Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest” (Matthew Chap. 21 verse 9).

Then we read that Yeshua healed many that were blind and lame in the temple (Matthew Chap. 21 verse 14).

Matthew Chap. 21 verse 15 tells us that the children cried in the temple, saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David.” Surely, “out of the mouth of babes and sucklings Thou hast perfected praise” (Psalm 8 verse 2; Matthew Chap. 21 verse 16).

Thus God used children to fulfill His prediction given in Psalm 118 verse 26 that the Messiah should be blessed in the House of the Lord!

There are at least five Scriptural predictions of the coming of the Messiah that demand that He come while the temple at Jerusalem was still standing.

This is a fact of great significance, since the temple has NOT been rebuilt since its destruction in 70 A.D.

These five Scriptures are: Haggai Chap. 2 verses 7-9; Malachi Chap. 3 verse 1; Zechariah Chap. 11 verse 13; Daniel Chap. 9 verse 26; and Psalm 118 verse 26.

(read Matthew Chap. 21 verses 1-16; Mark Chap.11 verses 1-10; Luke Chap. 19 verses 29-40.) “And Yeshua went into the temple of God…and the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple; and He healed them…and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David” (Matthew Chap. 21 verses 12-15).

Two other interesting Scriptures to look at:

When Yeshua was a child, he taken to the temple by His parents, as recorded in Luke Chap. 2 verses 25-32; also, when Yeshua as a boy of twelve was in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors and all that heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers (Luke Chap. 2 verses 46-47).

After years, even centuries of waiting, the Messiah suddenly came to His temple! (Malachi Chap. 3 verse 1).

Then a few years later, God, destroyed the temple and the city of Jerusalem, even as Yeshua had told the people.

On the old temple site today, now stands heathen shrines.

The scriptures are telling all people everywhere, the Messiah has already come!

He can’t come now as a man and there is no temple.

The Messiah had to come many years before the temple was destroyed.

Either Yeshua is the true Messiah, or there is no Messiah, no prophecy, no Word of God, no God, no objective truth; and then all history, as well as all the future, is as meaningless and purposeless.

Looking back:

Daniel says something remarkable about the coming of Messiah relative to the temple.

In giving the timetable from his time to the coming of the Messiah (see the next paragraph), Daniel makes it very clear that the Messiah will come and be “cut off” (die) before the “people [the Romans] of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city [Jerusalem] and the sanctuary [the temple]” (Daniel Chap. 9 verse 26).

Another relative point to the time of the Messiah’s coming:

The Messiah must come 483 years after a specific date in Daniel’s time.

This definite prediction as to the exact TIME of the coming of the Messiah is one of the most wonderful prophecies in the entire Bible. It establishes the date of the Messiah’s advent almost five hundred years before He came.

Malachi 3:1 is a very important scripture connecting many scriptures together.

Let's consider.

Mal.3 [1] Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before Me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to this temple, even the messenger of the covenant , whom ye delight in: behold, He shall come, saith Yehovah of hosts.

This scripture broken down into phrases:

1. I will send - God

2. My messenger - John (Elijah) Matt. 11:7-14, Matt. 17:10-12, Isa. 40:3, Mark 9:11:13, Mark 1:1-4, Luke 7:27-28

3.He shall prepare the way - John (Elijah) Matt. 11:7-14, Matt. 17:10-12, Isa. 40:3, Mark 9:11:13, Mark 1:1-4, Luke 7:27-28

4. before Me - Yeshua the Messiah (Yeshua)

5. the Lord, shall suddenly come - Yeshua the Messiah  Mal. 3:1

6. To this temple - Dan. 12:25 - Messiah - Zach. 9:9, Mal. 3:1

7. Messenger of the covenant - Yeshua the Messiah of the covenant (Jer. 31:31)

8. He shall come saith the Yehovah of Hosts = Messiah came.

Matt.11: [7] And as they departed, Yeshua began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
[8] But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? behold, they that wear soft clothing are in kings' houses.[9] But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet.[10] For this is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
[11] Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.[12 ] And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.[13] For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.[14] And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.[15] He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Matt.17 [10] And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? [11 ] And Yeshua answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. [12] But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

Mark.9 [11] And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first come? [12] And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought. [ 13] But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him.

Mark.1: [1 ] The beginning of the gospel of Yeshua the Messiah, the Son of God;
[2] As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.[ 3] The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight .[4] John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Luke 7:27 This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.
[28] For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

Isa.40:[3 ] The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of Yehovah, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
[4] Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
[5] And the glory of Yehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of Yehovah hath spoken it.

Yeshua comes to this "Temple of the Lord"

Haggai 2:7 And I will shake all nations, and (Messiah) the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith Yehovah of hosts.
[8] The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Yehovah of hosts.
[9] The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith Yehovah of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith Yehovah of hosts.

Zech.9 [9] Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Matt.21:[1] And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Yeshua two disciples,
[2] Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
[3] And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
[4] All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
[5] Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee , meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

Mark.11:[ 1] And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
[2] And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
[3] And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
[4] And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
[5] And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
[6] And they said unto them even as Yeshua had commanded: and they let them go.
[7] And they brought the colt to Yeshua, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
[8] And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
[9] And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:
[10] Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
[11] And Yeshua entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple : and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

**Same in Luke.19: [38] …Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord : peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

Yeshua foretold of the destruction of Jerusalem & the Temple

[41] And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
[42] Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
[43] For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
[44] And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

**Same in Matt.24 [2] And Yeshua said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

**Same - John.12:[12] On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Yeshua was coming to Jerusalem,
[13] Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: (save now) Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
[14] And Yeshua, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
[15] Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.
[16] These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Yeshua was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto things unto him.

**Same - Pss.118: 22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.
[23] This is Yehovah's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
[24] This is the day which Yehovah hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
[25] Save now, I beseech thee, Yehovah: Yehovah, I beseech thee, send now prosperity. [26 ] Blessed be He that cometh in the name of Yehovah: we have blessed you out of the house of Yehovah

Dan.9 [25] Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince , shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

The Messiah must come /die/rise - 483 years from the time Ezra and Nehemiah started building the temple.

This definite prediction as to the exact TIME of the coming of the Messiah is one of the most wonderful prophecies in the entire Bible. It establishes the date of the Messiah’s advent almost five hundred years before He came.

Dan.9 [26] And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

---------------

Here is a breakdown of the verses above:

Dan.9 [25] Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto THE MESSIAH THE PRINCE shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: 483 years

the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, 483 years

but not for Himself: Yeshua died for the sins of the world

and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary”  - approx. 70 AD, as recorded today -  Titus destroyed the Jerusalem  (Daniel Chap. 9 verses 25-26).

Yeshua prophesied about the destruction of the Temple

Matt.24

[1] And Yeshua went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
[2] And Yeshua said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

The 7 years here: Looks like there is a gap in time here in these verses, then the time of the Anti-Messiah - he

Dan.9 [27] And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: 7 years -  and in the midst of the week 3 ½ years - he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Dan.11[31] And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

Matt.24 [15] When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Same in - Mark.13 [14] But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

In closing:

1Tim.3 [16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh,(the Word, the Son) justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

1John.2 [18] Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

[22] Who is a liar but he that denieth that Yeshua is the Messiah? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.[23] Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

1John.4 [3] And every spirit that confesseth not that Yeshua the Messiah is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2John.1 [7] For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Yeshua the Messiah is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

John.9 [16] Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

[33] If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.

1John.3 [10] In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

1John.4 [3] And every spirit that confesseth not that Yeshua the Messiah is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

[6] We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

John.8 [21] Then said Yeshua again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come. [24] I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he (in the TaNaKh) , ye shall die in your sins.

Deut.32 [39] See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. [40] For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
[
41] If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
[
42] I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.
[43] Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

John.13 [19] Now I Yeshua tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.

1John.5 [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

John 21[25] And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
