 All welcome

  Shabbat Shalom שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Sabbath Peace

 Let’s pray

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

Today is April 20, 2013 (the fourth month)

April -- Aphrodite's month

Greek Aphro, short for Aphrodite.

Aprilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love and beauty. She is identified with the Roman goddess Venus.

Yehovah has His own calendar

We are now in the second month of God called Ziv / Zif, ninth day

ziv - brightness, (figuratively) the month of flowers

1Kgs.6[1] And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Yehovah.

[37] In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Yehovah laid, in the month Zif:

 ***Make sure you change your Judaism calendars – The 2nd month is not Iyyar as Judaism states, it is Ziv.

We were told to count the "Sabbaths" not omers

So we are counting

 Today is the 3rd Sabbath out of the seven Sabbaths we were told to count.

Judaism, some Messianics and some Protestant Messianics are counting the “omer”. They still cannot follow the scriptures correctly. They follow each other.

For your information: An "omer"עמר  is a "sheaf" of barley, a dry measure of 1/10 ephah  (about 2 liters)

Now let’s read scripture

Lev.23 [15] And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

 [16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

 [21] And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

Eph.5 [15] See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, [16] Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Last week’s topic was:

 Shalom שָׁלוֹם Peace

That was not displayed in the world last week

Today's topic:

One God of Israel

[1] Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which Yehovah your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
[2] That thou mightest fear Yehovah thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

[3] Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as Yehovah God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

[4] Hear, O Israel: The Yehovah our God is one Yehovah:[5] And thou shalt love Yehovah thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

[6] And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
[7] And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
[8] And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
[9] And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

Mal.2[10] Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?

Mark.12[28] And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

[29] And Yeshua answered him, the first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; Yehovah our God is one Yehovah:

[30] And thou shalt love Yehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

[31] And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

[32] And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

[33] And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

[34] And when Yeshua saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

Rom.3[30] Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith[31] Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Eph.4[1] I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,[2] With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;[3] Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

[4] There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

[5] One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

[6] One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

One mediator

1Tim.2[1] I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;[2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

[3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
[4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

[5] For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Messiah Yeshua; [6] Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Jas.2[19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

Only One Name to be saved by - Yeshua

Acts.4[1] And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
[2] Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Yeshua the resurrection from the dead.
[3] And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
[4] Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
[5] And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,
[6] And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
[7] And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

[8] Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,[9] If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

[10] Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

[11] This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

[12] Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

The 10 commandments - Exod.20 Commandment One

[1] And God spake all these words, saying,[2] I am Yehovah thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

John.10[30] I and my Father are one.

John.17[22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

Rom.12[5] So we, being many, are one body in Messiah, and every one members one of another.

1Cor.10[17] For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

1Cor.12[12] For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Messiah.

1Cor.8[1] Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

[2] And if any man think that he knoweth anything, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

[3] But if any man loves God, the same is known of him.

[4] As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

[5] For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)

[6] But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Yeshua Messiah, by whom are all things, and we by him.

[7] Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge:

This is where all the trouble starts – Other gods

2Cor.11[4] For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. (Silly fools)

Serving other gods is evil, wickedness

Exod.23[13] And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.

Deut.5[7] Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

Deut.6[14] Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; [15] (For Yehovah thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of Yehovah thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
[16] Ye shall not tempt Yehovah your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

Deut.11[16] Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

[17] And then Yehovah's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which Yehovah giveth you.
[18] Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.
[19] And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
[20] And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
[21] That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Yehovah sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

[1] If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
[2] And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
[3] Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for Yehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Yehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

[4] Ye shall walk after Yehovah your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

[5] And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from Yehovah your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which Yehovah thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
[6] If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
[7] Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
[8] Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
[9] But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
[10] And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from Yehovah thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
[11] And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.

[12] If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which Yehovah thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
[13] Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
[14] Then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;
[15] Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
[16] And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for Yehovah thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
[17] And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that Yehovah may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;
[18] When thou shalt hearken to the voice of Yehovah thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of Yehovah thy God.

[1] Thou shalt not sacrifice unto Yehovah thy God any bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness: for that is an abomination unto Yehovah thy God.

[2] If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which Yehovah thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of Yehovah thy God, in transgressing his covenant,
[3] And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

[4] And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and inquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:
[5] Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.
[6] At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
[7] The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

Without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

 God was manifest in the flesh

Col.1 [15] Messiah - Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Phil.2 [4] Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Messiah Yeshua:
6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

[8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

  One God and His Word

 No man hath seen God at any time

Exodus 33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

1 John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath declared Him.

However, God can show up in any form to manifest Himself to us

Exodus 33:11 And Yehovah spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.

1John.3 [2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Gen. 32:30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

 Judges 13:22And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

Numbers 12: And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold:

 wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

Numbers 14:14  And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou Lord art among this people, that thou Lord art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.

Deuteronomy 5:4 Yehovah talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,

Deuteronomy 34:10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom Yehovah knew face to face,

Messiah Yeshua is the Word of God made flesh

1Tim.3 [16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh,

John.1 [1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

 [10 ] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

 [14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

1John.5 [7] For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost : and these three are one.

Rev.19[ 11] And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.[ 12] His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

[13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

[ 14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.[15] And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.[16 ] And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND Yehovah OF YehovahS.

Rev.22[1] And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
[2] In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
[3] And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
[4] And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

Notice, the Word of Yehovah talked to many people:

דְבַר־יְהוָה ־ לֵאמֹר

Word of Yehovah came unto... saying

In the Targums, the memra is the Word of Yehovah is everywhere

John 1[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

[2] The same was in the beginning with God.

[3] All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

[4] In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

[5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

[10] He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Notice - the Word of Yehovah came saying many things to many people

 Yehovah comes in many manifestations

1Sam.3[1] And the child Samuel ministered unto Yehovah before Eli.

And the word of Yehovah was precious in those days;

there was no open vision.

[7] Now Samuel did not yet know Yehovah,

neither was the word of Yehovah yet revealed unto him.

[21] And Yehovah appeared again in Shiloh:

for Yehovah revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh

by the word of Yehovah.

"The Word of Yehovah came ... saying"

Gen.15[1] After these things the word of Yehovah came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

[4] And, behold, the word of Yehovah came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

They saw the God of Israel

Exod.24 [9] Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel:

[10] And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

[11] And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink.
