Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

--------------------------------------------

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

Today is April 14, 2018 - in the 21 Century

April -- Aphrodite's month

Old English April(is)
Latin
Aprilis
Etruscan
Apru
Greek
Aphro, short for Aphrodite.

Aprilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Aphrodite is the Greek goddess of love and beauty. She is identified with the Roman goddess Venus.

We acknowledge Yehovah’s calendar

We are now in the 1st month of God called Nisan day 27

Nisan, נִיסָן and ha aviv  הָאָבִיב

Exod. 13 [4] This day came ye out in the month (ha) Abib.

הַיּוֹם, אַתֶּם יֹצְאִים , בְּחֹדֶשׁ, הָאָבִיב

Esth. 3 [7] In the first month, that is, the month Nisan

בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשׁוֹן, הוּא־חֹדֶשׁ נִיסָן

A short review of the soon coming Spring Feasts and Holy Days

Moving forward: We start our 7 week journey again today – Feast of Weeks – Pentecost - the Feast of Harvest – the wheat harvest

April 14 - a Sabbath, until May 27, Sunday - a Sabbath

Esth.8 [9] Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan

Exod.34 [22] And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest…

Exod.23 [16] And the feast of harvest, the firstfruits of thy labours, which thou hast sown in the field…

In the 3rd month Sivan, day 20

סִיוָן

סִיו  (seev) bright, splendid

----------------------------------------

Today’s Topic:

Our seven week journey again, spiritually speaking

Our seven week journey we observe, in memorial to meet God again on Mt. Sinai to receive the commandments and receive the Spirit of God.

From slaves in Egypt (our last lives of sin) to the people of God

The giving of the Law (10 commandments) and the giving of the Holy Spirit

-----------------

We were told to count "Sabbaths" not omers.

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley

עמר  omer  - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

Lev.23 [15] And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

[16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

This Sabbath is the first Sabbath of the seven Sabbaths we were told to count.

---------------------------

How will you be behaving these 50 days? (Physically and Spiritually)

Let’s read again what our ancestors did many years ago after the Passover, the feast of unleavened bread and the GREAT deliverances God showed Israel.

Some verses:

The Jews then murmured at Yeshua…because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven

The Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them

The scribes and Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

John 6 [47] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

[48] I am that bread of life.

[49] Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

[50] This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

[51] I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

[52] The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
[53] Then Yeshua said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

[54] Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

[55] For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

[56] He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
[57] As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

[58] This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

[59] These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

[60] Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?

[61] When Yeshua knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?

[62] What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?

[63] It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

[64] But there are some of you that believe not. For Yeshua knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

[65] And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

John 6[66] From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

1John.2 [18] Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

[19] They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Exod. 15

[1] Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto Yehovah, and spake, saying, I will sing unto Yehovah, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

[20] And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
[21] And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to Yehovah, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

Check this, right after triumphing gloriously:

[22] So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

[23] And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. מָּרָה = bitter

[24] And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

[25] And he cried unto Yehovah; and Yehovah shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
[26] And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of Yehovah thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases
upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am Yehovah that healeth thee.

[27] And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and

they encamped there by the “waters”.

“From no water in verse 22, to waters in verse 27” - trust God!

-------------

Exod.16

[1] And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.

[2] And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
[3] And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of Yehovah in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

[4] Then said Yehovah unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

[5] And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

[6] And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that Yehovah hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:

[7] And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of Yehovah; for that he heareth your murmurings against Yehovah: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?

[8] And Moses said, This shall be, when Yehovah shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that Yehovah heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against Yehovah.

[9] And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before Yehovah: for he hath heard your murmurings.

[10] And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of Yehovah appeared in the cloud.

[11] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
[12] I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am Yehovah your God.
[13] And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.
[14] And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.
[15] And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for
they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which Yehovah hath given you to eat.
[16] This is the thing which Yehovah hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an
omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.

[17] And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.
[18] And when they did
mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

[19] And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.

[20] Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.

[21] And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
[22] And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered
twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.

[23] And he said unto them, This is that which Yehovah hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto Yehovah: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

[24] And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.
[25] And Moses said,
Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto Yehovah: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
[26] Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the
sabbath, in it there shall be none.

[27] And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.
[28] And Yehovah said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

[29] See, for that Yehovah hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.

[30] So the people rested on the seventh day.

[31] And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

[32] And Moses said, This is the thing which Yehovah commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.

[33] And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of הַמָּן manna therein, and lay it up before Yehovah, to be kept for your generations.
[34] As Yehovah commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.
[35] And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.
[36] Now an
omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

Exod.17

[1] And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of Yehovah, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.

[2] Wherefore the people did chide (strive, contend) with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt Yehovah?

[3] And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?

[4] And Moses cried unto Yehovah, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.

[5] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
[6] Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in
Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

[7] And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted Yehovah, saying, Is Yehovah among us, or not?

Apostle Saul instructs the Corinthians

1 Cor. 10

[1] Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
[2] And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

[3] And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

[4] And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Messiah.

[5] But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

These things were our examples

[6] Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Num. 11[4] Andthe mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

[5] We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:
[6] But our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

back to 1 Cor. 10

[7] Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Exod. 32 [1] And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
[2] And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
[3] And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
[4] And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said,
These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
[5] And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said,
To morrow is a feast to Yehovah.
[6] And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

back to 1 Cor. 10

[8] Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

[9] Neither let us tempt Messiah, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Num. 21 [6] And Yehovah sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

back to 1 Cor. 10

[10] Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Num. 11[1] And when the people complained, it displeased Yehovah: and Yehovah heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of Yehovah burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

[33] And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of Yehovah was kindled against the people, and Yehovah smote the people with a very great plague.

 back to 1 Cor. 10

[11] Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

[12] Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

[13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

[14] Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
--------------

Phil. 2 [14] Do all things without murmurings and disputings: [15] That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world

Jude 1[16]murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

--------------

In closing:

Forget not God’s mighty signs, miracles and deliverances.

Don’t do any of these things physically or spiritually below

Don't murmur or complain

Don’t lust

Don’t be an idolater

Don’t commit fornication

Neither let us tempt Messiah

Watch the mixt multitude that may try to sneak in among you to pollute your group or congregation with false doctrines

that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

Exod.12 [38] And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.

Neh.13 [3] Now it came to pass, when they had heard the law, that they separated from Israel all the mixed multitude.

mixt multitude - a promiscuous assemblage (of people)
