A short review of the spring holy days and feasts

Remember all the days starts the evening before

New Year 30th of March, Thursday

Passover – April 12th, Wednesday

We eat the Passover the evening of the 12th, and then the Feast of unleavened Bread starts until the 19th of April

The First fruits, Resurrection Day is the 16th of April, Sunday

Feasts of Weeks / Pentecost – Sunday June 4th, 2017

Question: So why are we here today?

 Answer: We were told to remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.

 

Sabbath is the “4th Commandment” 0f the 10 Commandments

 

Today is the rest of the holy Sabbath unto Yehovah

 

I will explain the Sabbath day from Scripture, the 7th day.

The Sabbath is not a service for an hour and a half, but a 24 hour period, the seventh day, not any day you pick.

This is how simple Sabbath is:

At this point, there were neither any Jews nor a country of Israel

Sabbath is the 4th commandment

Gen.2 [1] Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

[2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.

[3] And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.

Lev. 23 [32] … from even (sunset) unto even (sunset), shall ye celebrate your Sabbath.

The Sabbath is the 4th Commandment of the covenant given to us at Mount Sinai in the 3rd month, Sivan

The 10 commandments are in Exod. 20 and Deut. 5 - if you just know this, you will know more than most ministers.

זכר  Remember

zâkar - zaw-kar' - A primitive root; properly to mark (so as to be recognized), that is, to remember; by implication to mention; make mention of, be mindful, recount, record (-er), remember, make to be remembered, bring (call, come, keep, put) to (in) remembrance, be still, think on, well.

Ex. 20 [8] Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

[10] But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah thy God:

in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Isa.56 [1] Thus saith Yehovah, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
[2] Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

[3] Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to Yehovah, speak, saying, Yehovah hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.

[4] For thus saith Yehovah unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
[5] Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

[6] Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to Yehovah, to serve him, and to love the name of Yehovah, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

[7] Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices (now spiritual) shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Judaism is wrong saying the Gentiles don’t have to keep the Sabbath!

 

Isa. 58 [13] If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of Yehovah, honorable; and shalt honor him,

1 - not doing thine (your) own ways

2 - nor finding thine (your) own pleasure

3 - nor speaking thine (your) own words:

[14] Then shalt thou delight thyself in Yehovah; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Yehovah hath spoken it.

Lev. 23 [3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an "holy convocation"; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

Dwelling:מושׁב  môshâv - seat, assembly, dwelling-place, dwelling, your situation, location, (at) time of dwelling.

All Sabbaths are "holy convocations, a miqra kodesh"

Lev.23

[1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, concerning the feasts of Yehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are My feasts.


[3] Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the Sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.


[4] These are the feasts of Yehovah, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

מקרא  miqra: convocation, convoking, reading, a calling  together, sacred assembly, something called out, that is, a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal

קדשׁ kodesh: a sacred place or thing; consecrated, dedicated, hallowed, holiness, saint, sanctuary, apartness, sacredness, separateness, apartness, sacredness, holiness: All to the God of Israel.

Buying and selling is evil on the Sabbath.

Neh. 13 [16] There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.

[17] Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, what evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the Sabbath day?

We read from the law and the prophets every Sabbath like they did in the Book of Acts.

Acts: 13 [15] And after the reading of the law and the prophets…

Luke 24 [44] And Yeshua said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning Me.

 

The Word of God - Torah, Prophets and Writings (psalms), as Yeshua put it.  

Ta Na Kk is an acronym for:

T = Torah (law, teachings) - first 5 books God gave to Moses

N = Navi' eem or prophets (pl. sounds like - Na vi eem)

K = Ke'tuvim or writings (psalms etc.)

At this point, there were neither gospels nor letters written.

While everyone is still talking and thinking about Catholic Saint Patrick ’s Day, drinking green beer, that was Friday, the 17th of March,

I will go over Purim again, a true Biblical story of victory over our enemies.

The invisible God

 

The Book of Esther, has a hidden message of the Messiah?

  

Isa.57 [15] For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;

I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Isa. 45 [11] Thus saith Yehovah, the Holy One of Israel, and His Maker,

 כֹּה-אָמַר יְהוָה קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְיֹצְרוֹ

 Ask Me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye Me.


[12] I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

[15] Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself,

O God of Israel, the Saviour.

 Let's review...  

A short look at the word "Adar" and the Book of Esther

Adar אֲדָר

The first letter in the Hebrew alef- bet is alef א  and it is "hidden or silent". The next two letters can convey the meaning: דָר  to dwell, live

I see by this word Adar, when broken down, can convey a message that the "invisible God" wants to dwell among us and in us.

Adar can also convey the meaning of glorious, fire which is light

A feast, a banquet:  מִשְׁתֶּה  mishteh, mish-teh' - drink; by implication drinking (the act); also (by implication), a banquet or (generally) feast: - banquet, drank, drink, feast ([-ed], -ing).

The Seventeenth of Nisan /Aviv, Feast of first-fruits -- Resurrection, Deliverance and Salvation

In Hebrew the word Esther means star but the root of the word Esther is satar and means hidden.

Purim is a good time to reflect and remind ourselves on the many things of the God of Israel that are "hidden, silent".

 

Esth.9 [1] Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar

אדר  a-dar - A primitive root; to expand, that is, be great or (figuratively) magnificent: - (become) glorious, honorable – (Purim)

The words God, Lord, Yehovah do not appear in this book, but...

If you are aware of the spring holy days and feasts, you might see this hidden message.

Let’s start:

In Esth.3:[12] Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, (ha Aviv - Nisan) and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring.

Esth.4:[16] Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days , night or day:

Esth.5:[1 ] Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

This should be the 16th of Aviv/Nisan

Esth.5:[8 ] If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow as the king hath said.

Starting on the 13th and advancing 3 days would make it the 16th plus 1 day, this should be the 17th of ha Aviv/Nisan below

Esth.7:[1 ] So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen.[2] And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.[ 3] Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:[ 4] For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage.[5] Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?[6 ] And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.
[7] And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.[8 ] Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.[ 9] And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.[ 10] So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.

The people of God delivered!

Yeshua / Jesus rose on the third day, the 17th of ha Aviv / Nisan, and delivered us!

We are also commanded to eat, drink and be merry. According to the Talmud, a person is required to drink until he cannot tell the difference between "cursed be Haman" and "blessed be Mordecai," though opinions differ as to exactly how drunk that is. A person certainly should not become so drunk that he might violate other commandments or get seriously ill. In addition, recovering alcoholics or others who might suffer serious harm from alcohol are exempt from this obligation.

In addition, we are commanded to send out gifts of food or drink, and to make gifts to charity. The sending of gifts of food and drink is referred to as shalach manos (lit. sending out portions). Among Ashkenazic Jews, a common treat at this time of year is hamentaschen (lit. Haman's pockets). These triangular fruit-filled cookies are supposed to represent Haman's three-cornered hat.

It is customary to hold carnival-like celebrations on Purim, to perform plays and parodies, and to hold beauty contests. I have heard that the usual prohibitions against cross-dressing are lifted during this holiday, but I am not certain about that. Americans sometimes refer to Purim as the Jewish Mardi Gras.

Purim is not subject to the Sabbath-like restrictions on word that some other holidays are; however, some sources indicate that we should not go about our ordinary business on Purim out of respect for the holiday.

Talmud - Megiilah 7b Raba said: It is the duty of a man to mellow himself [with wine] on Purim until he cannot tell the difference between cursed be Haman? and blessed be Mordecai?

There are fancy dress parties (including a tradition of cross-dressing) and mockery of those who at other times are much respected

Scripture tells us:

Deut.22 [5] The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto Yehovah thy God.

Be aware of the invisible God

Col.1 [13] The Father hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, His Word Yeshua:

[14] In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

[15] Yeshua is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

[16] For by Him, Yeshua, the Word were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, Yeshua, the Word, and for Yeshua, the Word:

[17] And Yeshua, the Word is before all things, and by Him Yeshua, the Word all things consist.

[18] And He, Yeshua, the Word is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He Yeshua, the Word might have the preeminence.

[19] For it pleased the Father that in Him, Yeshua, the Word should all fulness dwell;

[20] And, having made peace through the blood of His, Yeshua, the Word’s cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, Yeshua, the Word I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Job says: 9 [11] Lo, He, God goeth by me, and I see Him, not:

Paul tells Timothy:

1Tim.3[16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

1Tim.1 [17] Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Don’t be tricked:

Remember, the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth

[10] Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel,(and everyone today 2017) that by the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole.

[11] This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

[12] Neither is there salvation in any other:

for there is none other name (except the name of Yeshua the Messiah of Nazareth) under heaven given among men,

whereby we must be saved!

Yeshua, the Word, the Son is your only hope of salvation
