 Let’s pray

--------------------------------

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

Today is July 13, 2013

July -- Julius Caesar's month

Middle English Julie
Latin Julius "Julius"
Latin Julius mensis "month of Julius"
Latin
quintilis mensis "fifth month"

Quintilis (and later Julius) has always had 31 days.

Julius Caesar reformed the Roman calendar (hence the Julian calendar) in 46 BC. In the process, he renamed this month after himself.

----------------------------------------------------

Yehovah has His own calendar

We are now in the 5th month, 4th day (this month has no name)

Judaism calls the 5th month Av which is made up – adding to the Word

Judaism made up the name AV (father?) and they say they have a civil year and religious year. They say AV is the eleventh month of the civil year, and fifth month of the religious year. Wrong!

Yehovah only has "ONE CALENDAR".

Deut. 11 [12] A land which Yehovah thy God careth for: the eyes of Yehovah thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

Today's Topic:

Two opinions - Yehovah or Satan

Two opinions?

 Today, thousands of opinions, beware!

We are being persuaded daily by two spiritual forces, Yehovah or Satan

Which one will you choose?

Let everyone be fully persuaded in their own mind.

1Kgs.18

[21] And Elijah אֵלִיָּהוּ came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions?

if Yehovah be God, follow him:

but if Baal, then follow him.

And the people answered him not a word.

[22] Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of Yehovah; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

[23] Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
[24] And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of Yehovah:

And

the God that answereth by fire, let him be God.

And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

[25] And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
[26] And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.

[27] And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

[28] And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.
[29] And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

[30] And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of Yehovah that was broken down.

[31] And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of Yehovah came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

[32] And with the stones he built an altar in the name of Yehovah: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

[33] And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said (first time)

Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

[34] And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

[35] And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

[36] And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said:

YEHOVAH God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

(I see a picture here of Messiah – the evening sacrifice, Messiah. The third day Messiah rose.)

[37] Hear me, YEHOVAH, hear me, that this people may know that thou art Yehovah God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

[38] Then the fire of Yehovah fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

[39] And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said:

Yehovah, he is the God; Yehovah, he is the God

[40] And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

The valley of decision

Joel.3 [14] Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision:

for the day of Yehovah is near in the valley of decision.

---------------------------------

Advertisers, commercials, hidden persuaders

Be aware of the hidden subliminal messages that are being injected into our minds constantly on a daily basis.

These magazines, websites, blogs, doctrines, biases, and the suchlike:

Persuade us what is true and what is not true, who are the best, number one, they say, what we should look like, what we should eat, how we should dress, where we should go, who we should have as friends, what we should purchase, from whom we should purchase, where we should live, what vehicle we should drive, and many other things that you’re doing you think naturally that you think are your own thoughts are actually the hidden subliminal messages that you are persuaded by each day.

Many of these thoughts are not your own thoughts.

You should limit yourself on listening to advertisers, commercials, negative news, false doctrines and many other hidden persuaders that transform thoughts and moods.

On a spiritual level, Paul tells the Corinthians that evil can be transformed into looking like good

2 Cor.11 [13] For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Messiah.

[14] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

[15] Therefore it is no great thing if Satan’s ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

The prophet Isaiah speaks of the same thing:

Isa.5[20] Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;

that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

[22] Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:

[23] Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

-----------------------

Beware of the hidden persuaders who will decide for you.

Don't be persuaded by a person's position or level of achievement in wrong   things or wrong decisions. Use discernment and understanding in all matters.

Understand who is speaking, what is being said, and if the speaker is biased on the subject matter.

Jude.1[16]… People that: walk after their own lust; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

Matt.27[20] But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Yeshua.

Matt.28

[1] In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
[2] And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of Yehovah descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
[3] His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
[4] And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
[5] And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Yeshua, which was crucified.
[6] He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where Yehovah lay.
[7] And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
[8] And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
[9] And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Yeshua met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
[10] Then said Yeshua unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

[11] Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

[12] And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,[13] Saying,

Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

[14] And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

[15] So they took the money, and did as they were taught:

and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

--------------------------------

Be persuaded in good things, Godly things.

Acts.26[26] For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely:

for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.

[27] King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.

[28] Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. (Messiah follower)

Rom.8[38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
[39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Messiah Yeshua our Yehovah.

2 Cor.5[11] Knowing therefore the terror of Yehovah, we persuade men;

Gal.5 [7] Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
[8] This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
[9] A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

2Tim.1[5] When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

[12] For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed:

for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

--------------------------

Be certain

1Cor.9[26] I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

[27] But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Don’t trust in uncertain riches

1Tim.6[17] Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

---------------------------------

Be persuaded in the God of Israel now; don’t wait until it’s too late.

Luke.16

[19] There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

[20] And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
[21] And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

[22] And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

[23] And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
[24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

[25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

[26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

[27] Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
[28] For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

[29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

[30] And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

[31] And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Choose you this day whom ye will serve

Josh.24

[14] Now therefore fear Yehovah, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye Yehovah.

[15] And if it seem evil unto you to serve Yehovah, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:

but as for me and my house, we will serve Yehovah.

[16] And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake Yehovah, to serve other gods;
[17] For Yehovah our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:
[18] And Yehovah drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve Yehovah; for he is our God.

[19] And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve Yehovah: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
[20] If ye forsake Yehovah, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

[21] And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve Yehovah.

[22] And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you Yehovah, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.

[23] Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto Yehovah God of Israel.

[24] And the people said unto Joshua, Yehovah our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

[25] So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem.
[26] And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of Yehovah.
[27] And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of Yehovah which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

[28] So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance.
[29] And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Yehovah, died, being an hundred and ten years old.

[30] And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in mount Ephraim, on the north side of the hill of Gaash.

[31] And Israel served Yehovah all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of Yehovah, that he had done for Israel.

-----------------------

In closing:

Be aware of the hidden subliminal messages that are being injected into our minds constantly on a daily basis.

Be persuaded; choose the God of Israel and His Word made flesh, Yeshua the Messiah.

Shabbat Shalom

Side note:

1Cor.14 [7] And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

[8] For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

[9] So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

[10] There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

[11] Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

[12] Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

Shalom
