 All welcome

 Shabbat Shalom

 שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Let’s pray

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

Today is September 13, 2014

September -- the seventh month, now the 9th month, go figure…

Middle English septembre
Latin September
Latin
septem "seven" + -ber (adj. suffix)
Latin
september mensis "seventh month"

September had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

 -----------------

God has His own calendar

We are now in the “sixth month” of God of Israel called Elul, 17th day

These 2 verses below indicated to us Elul must be the 6th month

Neh. 6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul,

אֱלוּל  in fifty and two days.

Neh. 7 [73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

Gen.3

[1] Now the serpent (devil) was more subtil than any beast of the field which Yehovah God had made.

And he, the devil said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
[2] And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
[3] But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

[4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
[5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

[6] And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

[7] And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Notice the words: saw, was good, to be desired and was pleasant

How nice?     -   NOT

Satan comes in so-called nice things, people, events, situations, opportunities, etc…

2 Cor. 11 [14] And no marvel;

for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

[15] Therefore it is no great thing if his, Satan’s ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness;

whose end shall be according to their works.

--------------------

The tempter is the devil

The tempter comes to you as light, beware!

Matt.4

[1] Then was Yeshua led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

[2] And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

[3] And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

[4] But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Mark.1 [13] And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

1Thes.3 [5] For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.

Luke 4 [13] And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

-----------------------------

2 Pet. 2 [18] For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

Matt.6 [13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Matt.26 [41] Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Luke 8 [13] They on the rock are they,

which, when they hear, receive the word with joy;

and

these have no root,

which for a while believe,

and

in time of temptation fall away

-------------

1Tim. 6 [9] But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition

-----------------------

Jas.1

[1] James, a servant of God and of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

[2] My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

[3] Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

[4] But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

[5] If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

[6] But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

[7] For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

[8] A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

[9] Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
[10] But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
[11] For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

[12] Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

[13] Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

------------

[14] But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

[15] Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

-------------

[16] Do not err, my beloved brethren.

[17] Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
[18] Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

[19] Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

[20] For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

[21] Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

[22] But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

[23] For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
[24] For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

[25] But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

[26] If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

[27] Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Jas.4 [8] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.

Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

[9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

[10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

[11] Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

[12] There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

----------------------

[13] Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

[14] Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.

For what is your life?

It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

[15] For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

[16] But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

[17] Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

------------------------

1Pet.1

[1] Peter, an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
[2] Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Yeshua the Messiah: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah from the dead,
[4] To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
[5] Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

[6] Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

[7] That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Yeshua the Messiah:

[8] Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

[9] Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

[10] Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

[11] Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Messiah which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Messiah, and the glory that should follow.

[12] Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

[13] Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Yeshua the Messiah;

[14] As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

[15] But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

[16] Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

[17] And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

[18] Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
[19] But with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

[20] Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

[21] Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

[22] Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

[23] Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

[24] For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.

The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

[25] But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

-------------------

Always remember:

1 Cor. 10[13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:

 but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;

but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

2 Pet.2 [9] The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Heb. 2  [18] For in that he (Messiah Yeshua)  himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor – help them that are tempted.

----------------------

Don’t be enticed in an evil way

Prov. 1 [10] My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

[11] If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

[12] Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
[13] We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

[14] Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

[15] My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

[16] For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

[17] Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

[18] And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

[19] So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

---------------------------

Let’s talk a little about flattery

Pss.12

[1] Help, Yehovah; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
[2] They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

[3] Yehovah shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

[4] Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

[5] For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith Yehovah; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.

[6] The words of Yehovah are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

[7] Thou shalt keep them, Yehovah, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

[8] The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.

----------------------------

Prov.7 [21] With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

Prov.26 [28] A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

Job.17[5] He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

Job.32[21] Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man. [22] For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.

Pss. 5 [9] For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

Pss. 36 [1] The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes. [2] For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

Pss. 78 [36] Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.

Prov. 2 [16] To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

Prov. 6 [24] To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.

Prov. 7 [5] That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

[21] With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

Prov. 20 [19] He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

Prov .26 [28] A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

Prov. 28 [23] He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

Prov. 29 [5] A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.

In conclusion:

Pss.95

[1] O come, let us sing unto Yehovah: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
[2] Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

[3] For Yehovah is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

[4] In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
[5] The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
[6] O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before Yehovah our maker.

[7] For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

Today if ye will hear his voice,

[8] Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

[9] When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

[10] Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways:

[11] Unto whom I sware in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

Deut.6 [16] Ye shall not tempt Yehovah your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
