Sad to say, August is named after the Roman Emperor Augustus Caesar
Augustus
for 'August'
After Julius's grandnephew Augustus defeated Marc Antony and Cleopatra, and
became emperor of Rome, the Roman Senate decided that
he too should have a month named after him. The
month Sextillus (sex = six) was chosen for
Augustus, and the senate justified its actions in the following resolution:
Whereas the Emperor Augustus Caesar, in the
month of Sextillis . . . thrice entered the city in
triumph . . . and in the same month Egypt was brought under the authority of
the Roman people, and in the same month an end was put to the civil wars; and
whereas for these reasons the said month is, and has
been, most fortunate to this empire, it is
hereby decreed by the senate that the said month shall be called Augustus.
Not only did the Senate name a month after Augustus, but
it decided that since Julius's month, July, had 31 days, Augustus's month
should equal it:
Under the Julian calendar, the months
alternated evenly between 30 and 31 days (with the exception of February),
which made August 30 days long.
So, instead of August having a mere 30 days,
it was lengthened to 31, preventing anyone from clai)ming that Emperor Augustus was
saddled with an inferior month. (Sick
stuff)

I know I am not getting all the scriptures,
however I feel that I am conveying to you the understanding of these commandments.

The 5th
Commandment
Honor thy father and thy mother (in Yehovah)
Obey your parents in the Lord
This study is short; there are many situations with mothers and fathers you
will have to seek them out yourselves.

Let’s start:
Exod.20
[12] Honour thy father and thy
mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which Yehovah
thy God giveth thee.
Exod.21[15] And he
that smiteth his
father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
[17] And he
that curseth his father,
or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
Lev.18 [4] Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk
therein: I am Yehovah your God.
[5] Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a
man do, he shall live in them: I am Yehovah.
[6] None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover
their nakedness: I am Yehovah.
[7] The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
[8] The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not
uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.
[9] The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter
of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their
nakedness thou shalt not uncover.
[10] The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter,
even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for
theirs is thine own nakedness.
[11] The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy
father, she is thy sister, thou shalt
not uncover her nakedness.
[12] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of
thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman.
[13] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of
thy mother's sister: for she is thy mother's near kinswoman.
[14] Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of
thy father's brother, thou shalt
not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt.
Lev.19 [1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
[2] Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say
unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I Yehovah your God
am holy.
[3] Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths: I am Yehovah
your God.
Lev.20[9] For every one that curseth
his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his
father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.
[17] And if
a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's
daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked
thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath
uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
[19] And
thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's
sister, nor of thy father's sister: for he uncovereth
his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.
Lev.21 [1] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Speak
unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be
defiled for the dead among his people:
[2] But for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and
for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,
Num.6 [1] And Yehovah spake
unto Moses, saying,
[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either
man or woman shall separate themselves to vow a vow of a Nazarite,
to separate themselves unto Yehovah:
[3] He shall separate himself from wine and strong drink, and shall drink
no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any
liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.
[4] All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of
the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.
[5] All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no rasor come upon his head: until the days be
fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto Yehovah, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the

[7] He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for
his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his
God is upon his head.
[8] All the days of his separation he is holy unto Yehovah

hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well
with thee, in the land which Yehovah thy God giveth thee.

Deut.21[18] If a man
have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his
father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him,
will not hearken unto them:
[19] Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him
out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
[20] And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is
stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a
drunkard.
[21] And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away
from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
Deut.27[16] Cursed
be he that setteth light by his father or his
mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
[22] Cursed
be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of
his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say,
Amen.
Rahab cared about her family
Josh.2[1] And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim
two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went,
and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.
[2] And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, there came men in hither to night of the children of Israel to
search out the country.
[3] And the king of Jericho sent unto Rahab,
saying, Bring forth the men that are come to thee, which are entered into thine house: for they be come to search out all the
country.
[4] And the woman took the two men, and hid them, and said thus, There
came men unto me, but I wist not whence they were:
[5] And it came to pass about the time of shutting of the gate, when it
was dark, that the men went out: whither the men went I wot
not: pursue after them quickly; for ye shall overtake them.
[6] But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them
with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.
[7] And the men pursued after them the way to Jordan unto the fords: and
as soon as they which pursued after them were gone out, they shut the gate.
[8] And before they were laid down, she came up unto them upon the roof;
[9] And she said unto the men, I know that Yehovah
hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all
the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.
[10] For we have heard how Yehovah dried up
the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did
unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly
destroyed.
[11] And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt,
neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for Yehovah your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth
beneath.
[12] Now therefore, I pray you, swear unto me by Yehovah,
since I have shewed you kindness, that ye will also shew kindness unto my father's house, and give me a true
token:
[13] And that ye will save alive my father, and my
mother, and my brethren, and my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver
our lives from death.
[14] And the men answered her, Our
life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when Yehovah hath given us the land, that
we will deal kindly and truly with thee.
[15] Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house
was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall.
[16] And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers
meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.
[17] And the men said unto her, We will be
blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us
swear.
[18] Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which
thou didst let us down by: and thou shalt bring thy
father, and thy mother, and thy brethren, and all thy father's household, home
unto thee.
[19] And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of thy
house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we will be
guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his blood shall be on
our head, if any hand be upon him.
[20] And if thou utter this our business, then
we will be quit of thine oath which thou hast made us
to swear.
[21] And she said, According unto your words,
so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet
line in the window.
[22] And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three
days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout
all the way, but found them not.

passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that

hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the
country do faint because of us

[20] And he left the
oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will
follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?

thy father and thy mother:
[29] And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, (or husband) or
children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an
hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
[30] But he shall receive an
hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers,
and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal
life.
[31] But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
Rom.1 [21] Because that, when
they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became
vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
[23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible
God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
[24] Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of
their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies
between themselves:
[25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served
the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever.

[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even
their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,
burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is
unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence
of their error which was meet.
[28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God
gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not
convenient;
[29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity;
whisperers,
[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors
of evil things, disobedient to parents,
[31] Without understanding, covenantbreakers,
without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
[32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things
are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do
them.

This is how simple it is:
Exod. 20
[8] Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yehovah thy God:
in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

day to sanctify it, as Yehovah thy God hath commanded thee.

gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as
thou.
[15] And remember that thou wast a
servant in the land of Egypt, and that Yehovah thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty
hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore Yehovah thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.

Lev. 23 [3] Six days shall work be done:
but
the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an “holy convocation”;
ye shall do no work therein:
it is the Sabbath of Yehovah in all your dwellings.

Isa. 58 [13] If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of Yehovah, honourable; and shalt honour him,
1 - not doing thine own ways,
2 - nor finding thine own pleasure,
3 - nor speaking thine own words:
[14] Then shalt thou delight thyself in Yehovah; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Yehovah hath spoken it.

Buying and selling is evil on the Sabbath
Neh. 13 [16] There dwelt men of Tyre also therein, which brought fish, and all manner of ware, and sold on the Sabbath unto the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.
[17] Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said unto them, what evil thing is this that ye do, and profane the Sabbath day?

The first day is mentioned only 2 times when they met for a certain event in Acts and the letter to the Corinthians
It never says the 1st day replaced the 7th day as Sabbath
It never says the 1st day is a Commandment or a rest
Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
1Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

We read from law and the prophets every Sabbath like they did in the Book of Acts.
60 times in the Gospels and letters it uses the word Sabbath!
