We are now in the
4th month, 19th day (this month has no name)
Judaism calls the 4 month Tammuz which is made
up, not in the Hebrew Scriptures
The only verse for Tammuz in the Scriptures
is:
Ezek.8[ 14]
Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yehovah's house which was toward the
north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for
Tammuz - (
a pagan deity ) מְבַכּוֹת
אֶת־הַ תַּמּוּז -- a Sumerian deity of food or
vegetation, a Phoenician deity

Before we start this Sabbath study, I need to mention that the Sabbath is not "a service" for an
hour and a half.
The Sabbath is a whole 24 hour period, a day to study and reflect on the
words of the God of Israel.
The
Sabbath is just one of God’s commandments; don’t make Sabbath a god or a queen, as some have
done in the past.
So I ask this question again: S0 why are we here today?
Answer: We were told to remember
the Sabbath Day to keep it holy
The 4th Commandment is a part of the
“covenant” given to us at Mount Sinai in the 3rd month, Sivan
Ex. 20 [8] Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[9] Six
days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But
the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah thy God: in
it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy
manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[11] For
in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is,
and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the Sabbath day, and
hallowed it.

Lev. 23 [1] And Yehovah spake unto Moses, saying,[2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them,
Concerning
the feasts of Yehovah, which ye shall proclaim
to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
[3] Six
days shall work be done: but the seventh day is
the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is
the sabbath of Yehovah in all
your dwellings.
Within your gates - in all your dwellings
Holy – no unclean thing around you
Unto this day in 2013, some people are still breaking the 4th
commandment each week by not keeping the Sabbath as it is described above.
Some
people think breaking the Sabbath is no big deal; they just break it, and then
go on their way as if nothing happened, but it has happened, they sinned
presumptuously, knowingly!
Some
people’s only hope at that point is that they have not come to the knowledge of
the truth, maybe there will be forgiveness. I advised that you don’t try this
at home.
You
never know when you will meet the God of Israel. You don’t have to be old; you
don’t have to be sick when your time is up to meet God.
I hear
every day; even healthy people by some type of accident or any unforeseen event
go out to meet God.
The book of Ecclesiastes states:
Ecc. 8[6] Because
to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is
great upon him.
[7] For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him
when it shall be?
[8] There is no man that
hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the
day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness
deliver those that are given to it.
[9] All this have I
seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is
a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own
hurt.
[10] And so I saw the
wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were
forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.
[11] Because
sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of
the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
[12] Though a sinner do evil
an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet
surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before
him:
[13] But it shall not be
well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his
days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not
before God.
As you read
verse 11 above, some people think they’re getting away with every sin because
judgment is not executed right at the moment of their sin, they are deceived.
Exod.31[14] Ye shall keep the sabbath
therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death:
for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among
his people.
[15] Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the
sabbath of rest, holy to Yehovah:
whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath
day, he shall surely be put to death.
Heb.10[26] For if we sin wilfully after that we have received
the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[28]
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
[29]
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath
trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted
the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and
hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
[30]
For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth
unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his
people.
[31]
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the
living God.

Today's topic
Adding and diminishing from God’s word
This is
a salvation issue!

First I will mention a few things to beware of:
False image of Love
False imaginations
False feelings and emotions
Beware of People that are kinder than God,
more loving than God, more forgiving than God more merciful than God, and so
on.
Beware of people that sin presumptuously and
then say they have a relationship with God, God will forgive them, God
understands.
They are deceived.
I always wonder, if God destroyed many of his
own chosen people, the Israelites, why do the Gentiles think they have a free
pass to do anything they wish at any time and get away with it?
I see these people have never read the letter
that Paul wrote to the Romans:
Rom.11 [13] For
I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the
apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
[14]
If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might
save some of them.
[15]
For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of
the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
[16]
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy:
and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
[17]
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree,
wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
[18]
Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest
not the root, but the root thee.
[19]
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that
I might be graffed in.
[20]
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest
by faith.
Be not highminded, but fear:
[21] For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he
also spare not thee.
[22]
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on
them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his
goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
[23]
And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff
them in again.
[24]
For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much
more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

Adding and diminishing from God’s word
Deut. 4 [2] Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither
shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of Yehovah
your God which I command you.
לֹא תֹסִפוּ,
עַל־הַדָּבָר
אֲשֶׁר
אָנֹכִי
מְצַוֶּה אֶתְכֶם,
וְלֹא
תִגְרְעוּ, מִמֶּנּוּ־־לִשְׁמֹר,
אֶת־מִצְוֹת
יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם,
אֲשֶׁר
אָנֹכִי,
מְצַוֶּה
אֶתְכֶם
Deut.12 [32] What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
אֵת
כָּל־הַדָּבָר,
אֲשֶׁר
אָנֹכִי
מְצַוֶּה
אֶתְכֶם־־אֹתוֹ
תִשְׁמְרוּ,
לַעֲשׂוֹת: לֹא־תֹסֵף
עָלָיו, וְלֹא
תִגְרַע מִמֶּנּוּ
Prov.30 [6] Add thou not unto his
words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

עַל-דְּבָרָיו

When I speak to some people, they think it’s no big deal if people make
things up, preach heresy, change dates in God’s feasts, sell the word of God,
sell corrupt Bibles, sell trinkets that are not from Scripture and then they
have the nerve to make excuses for them.
Paul tells the Galatians:
Gal.5 [19] Now the works of the
flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness,
[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife,
seditions, heresies,
[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before,
as I have also told you in time past, that they which
do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Paul tells the Corinthians:
1Cor.6
[9] Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit
the kingdom of God?
Be not deceived: neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of
themselves with mankind,
[10] Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

John tells us:
Rev.21[8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and
whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all
liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

We do not want
this attitude - to be “Right in our own
eyes"
Some
people just want to serve God their own way, not God’s way.
Let’s
read some Scripture
Num. 15 [37] And Yehovah spake unto Moses,
saying,
[38] Speak unto the children of Israel, and
bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments
throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders
a ribband of blue:
[39] And it shall be unto you for a fringe,
that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of Yehovah, and do them;
and that ye seek not
after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye
use to go a whoring:
[40] That ye may remember, and do all my
commandments, and be holy unto your God.
[41] I am Yehovah your God, which
brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am Yehovah your God.

Deut.12 [8] Ye shall not do after all the things that we do
here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

Judg. 17 [6] In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for

[21] Woe unto them that
are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
[22] Woe unto
them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
[23] Which justify the wicked for reward,
and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

God’s Elections
Deut. 17
[14] When thou art come unto the land which Yehovah thy God giveth
thee, and shalt
possess it, and shalt
dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;
[15] Thou shalt in
any wise set him king over thee,
whom Yehovah thy God shall choose: one
from among thy brethren shalt thou
set king over thee: thou mayest not set a
stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.
[16] But he shall not multiply horses to himself,
nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply
horses: forasmuch as Yehovah hath
said unto you, Ye
shall henceforth return no more that way.
[17] Neither shall he multiply wives to himself,
that his heart turn not
away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
[18] And it shall be, when he sitteth upon
the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a
book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
[19] And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein
all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear Yehovah his God, to keep all the
words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
[20] That his heart be not
lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment,
to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in
his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.

Judg.17 [6] In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Where did they go
wrong? Right here, they say:
“Make us a king to
judge us like all the nations”
1 Sam. 8
[1] And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that
he made his sons judges over Israel.
[2] Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah:
they were judges in Beer-sheba.
[3] And his sons walked not in his ways, but
turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
[4] Then all the elders
of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto
Ramah,
[5] And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and
thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to
judge us like all the nations.
[6] But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give
us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto Yehovah.
[7] And Yehovah said
unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto
thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have
rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
[8] According to all the works which they have
done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day,
wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto
thee.
[9] Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit
yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them
the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
[10] And Samuel told all the words of Yehovah unto the people that
asked of him a king.
[11] And he said, This will be the manner of the
king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for
himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before
his chariots.
[12] And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over
fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his
harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.
[13] And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks,
and to be bakers.
[14] And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards,
even the best of them, and give them to his servants.
[15] And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give
to his officers, and to his servants.
[16] And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your
goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.
[17] He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.
[18] And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have
chosen you; and Yehovah will
not hear you in that day.
[19] Nevertheless the people refused to obey
the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have
a king over us;
[20] That we also may
be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out
before us, and fight our battles.
[21] And Samuel heard all the words of the people,
and he rehearsed them in the ears of Yehovah.
[22] And Yehovah said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and
make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto
his city.

In every generation, I believe, there are always a few
chosen people of God that try to restore God's laws, commandments and feasts
before He comes back.
We are to be judges, priests and Kings now
Read and learn the word of
God. Study; prove all things, like the Kings were supposed to do of old and
most of them did it not.
Exod. 19 [6] And ye
shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy
nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of
Israel.
1 Pet. 2 [9] But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him
who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: [10] Which in time
past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained
mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

God says "don't be like all
the nations:
Jer.10[ 2] Thus saith Yehovah, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not
dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. [3 ] For the customs of
the people are vain: for one cutteth a
tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. [ 4] They deck it with silver
and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Jer.6[16]
Thus saith Yehovah, Stand ye in the ways, and
see, and ask for the old paths , where
is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein . ( like most of the world today )
Jer.18[ 15] Because my people hath forgotten me, they
have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused
them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths ,
in a way not cast up;[16 ] To make their land desolate, and a perpetual
hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be
astonished, and wag his head.

Always prove all things
1 Thessalonians 5:21
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew "thyself approved" unto God, a
workman that needeth not
to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt,
that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

1 Pet. 3 [15]
But sanctify Yehovah God
in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with
meekness and fear:

Colossians 3:16: Let
the word of Messiah dwell
in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in
psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to Yehovah.

2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Yeshua the Messiah. To
him be
glory both now and for
ever. Amen.

Rom. 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Prov. 14 [15] The
simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

In conclusion:
All we need are the Scriptures for truth,
correction, righteous judgment, faith, encouragement and so on.
Study, learn, obey and apply in your life. Don’t
be right in your own eyes, fear God and keep his commandments.
Ecc.12[13] Let us hear the conclusion of
the whole matter:
Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this
is the whole duty of man.
[14]
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with
every secret thing, whether it be good, or
whether it be evil.
