Let’s pray
--------------------------------------------
Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from
the 1500’s,
July 1, 2017 - in the 21 Century
July -- Julius Caesar's month
Middle English Julie
Latin Julius "Julius"
Latin Julius mensis
"month of Julius"
Latin quintilis mensis "fifth
month"
Quintilis (and later Julius) has always had 31 days.
Julius Caesar reformed the Roman calendar (hence the Julian calendar)
in 46 BC. In the process, he renamed this month after himself.
-----------------
We acknowledge God’s calendar
We are now in:
The 4th month of God which has no name, 6th day
Judaism calls the 4th
month Tammuz which is not in the Hebrew Bible
nor is scriptural
Ezek.8 [ 14] Then he brought me to
the door of the gate of the Yehovah's house which was toward
the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz
- ( pagan deity ) מְבַכּוֹת
אֶת־הַ תַּמּוּז
Also a Sumerian deity of food or vegetation, a Phoenician deity

Today’s topic:
Be stedfast,
have faith in God
Stedfast:
fixed in direction;
steadily directed:
a steadfast gaze, firm in purpose, resolution, faith, attachment,
unwavering, as resolution, adherence, firmly established, as an institution or
a state of affairs, firmly fixed in place or position.
קַיָּם
kah -yâm (Chaldee); permanent
(a rising firmly): - stedfast, sure.
יָצַק
yâtsaq - A
primitive root; properly to pour out
(transitively or intransitively); by implication to melt
or cast as metal; by extension
to place firmly, to stiffen or grow
hard: - cast, cleave fast, be (as) firm, grow, be hard, lay out,
molten, overflow, pour (out), run out, set down, stedfast.
ἑδραῖος hed-rah'-yos - (to sit); sedentary, that is, (by implication) immovable:
- settled, stedfast
βέβαιος – bebaios - beb'-ah-yos - stable (literally or figuratively): - firm, of force, stedfast, sure.
Be stedfast
Dan. 6 [26] I make a decree, That in every
dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for He is
the living God, and stedfast for ever,
and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall be
even unto the end.
Acts 2 [42] And they continued stedfastly in the
apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in
prayers.
1 Cor. 15 [58] Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable,
always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour
is not in vain in the Lord.
Col. 2 [5] For though I be
absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying
and beholding your order, and the stedfastness
of your faith in Messiah.
Heb. 3 [14] For we are made
partakers of Messiah if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
2 Pet. 3 [17] Ye therefore,
beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led
away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
Faith
56 time in TaNaKh
304 times in the Gospels and Letters
Hab.2 [4] … but
the just shall live by his faith.
Rom.1[17] For therein is the righteousness of
God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The
just shall live by faith.
Romans
3:20
Therefore by the
deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is
the knowledge of sin.
21: but now the righteousness of God without the
law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22: Even the righteousness of God which is by
faith of Yeshua the Messiah unto all and upon all the that believe: For
there is no difference:
23: For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God:
24: Being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that is in Yeshua the Messiah:
25: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation throught faith in
his blood,
to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the
forbearance of God;
26: To declare, I say, at this time his
righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth
in Yeshua.
27: Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? (sacrifice) Nay: but by the law of faith (in his blood)
28: therefore we
conclude that a an is
justified by faith without the deeds of the law (sacrifice).
Rom.5 [1]
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace
with God through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah:
[2] By whom also we have access by faith into
this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
[3] And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also:
knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
[4] And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
[5] And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of
God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
-----------------
Rom.11 [13] For
I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the
apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
[14] If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are
my flesh, and might save some of them.
[15] For
if the casting away of them be the reconciling
of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
[16] For
if the firstfruit
be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
[17] And
if some of the branches be broken off, and thou (you Gentiles), being a wild
olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest
of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
[18]
Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest
not the root, but the root thee.
[19] Thou
wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I
might be graffed
in.
[20] Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest
by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
[21] For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also
spare not thee.
[22] Behold therefore the goodness
and severity of God: on them which fell,
severity; but toward thee, goodness, if you continue in His goodness: otherwise
thou(you
Gentiles) also shalt be cut off.
[23] And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall
be graffed
in: for God is able to graff them in again.
[24] For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild
by nature, and wert graffed contrary to
nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be
the natural branches, be graffed into their
own olive tree?
[25] For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of
this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness
of the Gentiles be come in.
[26] And so all Israel(that will be
saved) shall be saved: as it is written,
There shall come out of Sion
the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness
from Jacob:
2Sam.22 [2] And
he said, Yehovah
is my rock, and my fortress, and my Deliverer;
Pss.18 [2] Yehovah is my rock,
and my fortress, and my Deliverer; my God, my
strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and
my high tower.
Pss.40 [17] But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh
upon me: thou art my help and my Deliverer;
make no tarrying, O my God.
Pss.70 [5] But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God:
thou art my help and my Deliverer; Yehovah,
make no tarrying.
Pss.144 [1]
Blessed be Yehovah my strength, which teacheth my hands to
war, and my fingers to fight: [2] My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower,
and my Deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I
trust; who subdueth
my people under me.
Back to Rom.11
[27] For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away
their sins.
[28] As concerning the gospel, they
are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
[29] For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
[30] For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have
now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
[31] Even
so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may
obtain mercy.
[32] For
God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
[33] O
the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how
unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
[34] For
who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his
counseller?
[35] Or
who hath first given to Him, and it shall be recompensed unto Him again?
[36] For
of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to whom be
glory for
ever. Amen.
2Cor.1…for by faith ye stand.
2Cor.5 [7] (For we walk by faith,
not by sight:)
Gal.3 [11] But that no man is justified (Now that Yeshua has come)
by the law (Levitical priesthood,
animal sacrifices) in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live
by faith. (In Yeshua’s blood for forgiveness of sins)
[22] But the scripture hath concluded all under sin,
that the promise by faith of Yeshua
the Messiah might be given to them that believe.
[24] Wherefore the law was our
schoolmaster to bring us unto Messiah, that we might be justified by faith.
[26] For ye are all the children of God by faith in Messiah Yeshua.
Eph. 3
[14] For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Yeshua
Messiah,
[15] Of
whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
[16] That
he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened
with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
[17] That
Messiah may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded
in love,
[18] May
be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and
depth, and height;
[19] And
to know the love of Messiah, which passeth knowledge,
that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
[20] Now
unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or
think, according to the power that worketh in us,
[21] Unto
him be glory in the church by Messiah Yeshua throughout
all ages, world without end. Amen.
Phil.3
[1] Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the
same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for
you it is safe.
[2]
Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the
concision.
[3] For
we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in
Messiah Yeshua,
and have no confidence in the flesh.
[4]
Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh
that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
[5]
Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin,
an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
[6]
Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in
the law, blameless.
[7] But
what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Messiah.
[8] Yea
doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency
of the knowledge of Messiah Yeshua my Lord: for
whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I
may win Messiah,
[9] And
be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but
that which is through the faith of Messiah, the righteousness which is of God
by faith:
[10] That
I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his
sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
[11] If
by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
Heb.10 [38] Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul
shall have no pleasure in him.
Heb.11
[1] Now faith is the substance of
things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
[2] For by it the elders obtained a good report.
[3] Through faith we
understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which
are seen were not made of things which do appear.
[4] By faith Abel offered unto
God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he
was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
[5] By faith Enoch was
translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had
translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he
pleased God.
[6] But without faith it is impossible to please
him: for he
that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder
of them that diligently seek him.
[7] By faith Noah,
eing warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear,
prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the
world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
[8] By faith Abraham, when he
was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an
inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
[9] By faith he sojourned in
the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with
Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
[10] For
he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
[11] Through faith also Sara
herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when
she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
[12]
Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the
stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore
innumerable.
[13]
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them
afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that
they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
[14] For they that say such things declare plainly that they
seek a country.
[15] And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from
whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
[16] But now they desire a better country, that
is, an
heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he
hath prepared for them a city.
[17] By faith Abraham, when he
was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up
his only begotten son,
[18] Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be
called:
[19]
Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence
also he received him in a figure.
[20] By faith Isaac blessed
Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
[21] By faith Jacob, when he
was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the
top of his staff.
[22] By faith Joseph, when he
died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave
commandment concerning his bones.
[23] By faith Moses, when he
was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper
child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
[24] By faith Moses, when he
was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
[25]
Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the
pleasures of sin for a season;
[26]
Esteeming the reproach of Messiah greater riches than the treasures in Egypt:
for he had respect unto the recompence of the
reward.
[27] By
faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
[28] Through faith he kept the passover,
and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch
them.
[29] By faith they passed
through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were
drowned.
[30] By faith the walls of
Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
[31] By faith the harlot Rahab
perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with
peace.
[32] And what shall I more say? for
the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of
Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David
also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
[33] Who through faith subdued
kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of
lions,
[34]
Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness
were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the
aliens.
[35] Women received their dead raised to life again: and others
were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better
resurrection:
[36] And others had trial of cruel mockings
and scourgings,
yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
[37] They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted,
were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins;
being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
[38] (Of whom the world was not worthy:)
they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
[39] And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
[40] God having provided some better thing for us, that they
without us should not be made perfect.
We are all in it together
We, in 2017, like many of the people in the
letters, truly walk, believe, and live by faith.
