Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

Today is August 24th 2013

August -- Augustus Caesar's month

Latin Augustus "Augustus"
Latin Augustus mensis "month of Augustus"
Latin
sextilis mensis "sixth month"

Sextilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself.

----------------------------------------------------

Yehovah has His own calendar

We are now in the 6th month called Elul, 16th day

These 2 verses below indicated to us Elul must be the 6th month

Neh.6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul,

לֶ אֱלוּל   in fifty and two days.

Neh.7[73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

Today's Topic:

Be sure your sin will find you out

Comes from:

Num.32[23]… ye have sinned against Yehovah: and be sure your sin will find you out.

This is a short study pertaining to people that think they can sin secretly and God does not see it, very wrong.

As the holy days and feast of God approach us in the next few weeks, we ought to make sure that we are pure, examine our souls, and make sure there are no secret sins within us or around us.

Also, please make sure you don’t participate in anything that is unrighteous, whether in deed or word. Simply put, do all things truthfully.

In the century we live in, the 21st century, we ought to be very careful with all the technologies that we use in our everyday life.

Don’t download anything you’re not authorized to download. That is the simple solution.

I’m aware of some technologies that some people used to hide messages, websites and other information.

They make messages invisible; hide messages behind pictures, code messages in many ways.

We hear in the news that there are many people trying to hide secret messages in emails, on their hard drives, and other storage devices, which they think our secret.

However, we see that their secrets are revealed sooner or later.

Scripture says:

Ecc.10 [20] Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.

Remember:

1John.5 [16] If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death.

There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

[17] All unrighteousness is sin

[18] We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

[19] And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

--------------------------------------

Prov.21[4] An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

Prov.24[9] The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

Rom.14[23] … for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Jas.4[17] Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Prov.14[34] Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

John.801[34] Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

1Cor.15[56] The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

1John 3 [1] Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
[
2] Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
[
3] And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

[4] Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

[5] And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
[
6] Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

[7] Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

[8] He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

[9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

[10] In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Be aware there is good and bad, right and wrong, and light and darkness in everything that you do daily.

We should remember:

Mat. 5 [14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
[
15] Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
[
16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Are there secret sins? No, never, God see all

Jer.23[24] Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith Yehovah. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith Yehovah.

Pss.90[8] Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

Deut.13[6] If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
[7] Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
[8] Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
[9] But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
[10] And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from Yehovah thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
[11] And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.

Deut.27 [15] Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto Yehovah, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

[24] Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.

1Sam.23[9] And David knew that Saul secretly practiced mischief against him…

David’s secret sin with Bath-sheba and Uriah the Hittite

2Sam.12[12] For thou didst it secretly: but I(God) will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

------------------------

2Kgs.17 [7] For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against Yehovah their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharoah king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
[
8] And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom Yehovah cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
[
9] And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against Yehovah their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
[
10] And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
[
11] And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom Yehovah carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke Yehovah to anger:
[
12] For they served idols, whereof Yehovah had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.

A few psalms and proverbs

Pss.44 [1] We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.
[
2] How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
[
3] For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
[
4] Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
[
5] Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
[
6] For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
[
7] But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.
[
8] In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.
[
9] But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
[
10] Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
[
11] Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
[
12] Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.
[
13] Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
[
14] Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
[
15] My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
[
16] For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
[
17] All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
[
18] Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;
[
19] Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
[
20] If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;

[21] Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

[22] Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
[
23] Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
[
24] Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
[
25] For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
[
26] Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.

The wicked are very wrong

Pss.10 [1] Why standest thou afar off, O Yehovah? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
[
2] The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
[
3] For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom Yehovah abhorreth.
[
4] The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
[
5] His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
[
6] He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.
[
7] His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

[8] He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

[9] He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

[10] He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.
[
11] He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
[
12] Arise, O Yehovah; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
[
13] Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.
[
14] Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
[
15] Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
[
16] The Yehovah is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
[
17] Yehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
[
18] To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

Pss.90[1] Yehovah, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
[
2] Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

[3] Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
[
4] For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

[5] Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
[
6] In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

[7] For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

[8] Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

[9] For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

[10] The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years (80), yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

(Past 80 years is really - by reason of strength)

[11] Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
[
12] So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
[13] Return, O Yehovah, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.
[
14] O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
[
15] Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.
[
16] Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.
[
17] And let the beauty of Yehovah our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Prov.9[1] Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
[
2] She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
[
3] She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
[
4] Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
[
5] Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
[
6] Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
[
7] He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
[
8] Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
[
9] Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
[
10] The fear of Yehovah is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
[11] For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
[
12] If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.

[13] A foolish woman is clamourous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
[
14] For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
[
15] To call passengers who go right on their ways:
[
16] Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
[
17] Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
[18] But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

----------------------------

Ecc.12 [1] Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
[2] While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
[3] In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
[4] And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
[5] Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
[6] Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

[7] Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

[8] Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

[9] And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

[10] The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

[11] The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

[12] And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

[13] Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

[14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

In closing: Let’s be like Yeshua

John.18[20] Yeshua answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

Remember God knows all

Matt.9[4] And Yeshua knowing their thoughts

Acts.1[24] …Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men

1John.3[20]…God knoweth all things

Job.28[10] He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.

[24] For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;
[
25] To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
[
26] When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:
[
27] Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.
[
28] And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding
