Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

Today is Oct. 29, 2016

October -- the eighth month – now it is the 10th month

Middle English octobre
Latin October
Latin
octo "eight" + -ber (adj. suffix)
Latin
october mensis "eighth month"

October has always had 31 days.

 -----------------

 Yehovah has His own calendar

We are now in the 7th month, ha Ethanim, day 27, of the God of Israel

A part of October and November

------------

Remember, the new moon starts the evening before

New Moon is the 2nd day in November, Wednesday

Soon rainBul /Bool, בּוּל  the eighth month

Today’s Topic: by love serve one another

Paraphrased

1 John 2 [9] He or she that saith they are in the light, and hates their brother (or sister), is in darkness even until now.

[10] He or she that loveth their brother (or sister), abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in them.

[11] But he or she that hateth their brother (or sister) is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither they go, because that darkness hath blinded their eyes.

-------------

1 John 3 [14] We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother (or sister) abideth in death.

[15] Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

[16] Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

[17] But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

[18] My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

----------------

1 John 4 [7] Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

[8] He or she that loves not knoweth not God; for God is love.

[9] In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
[10] Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

[11] Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

[12] No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

[20] If a man or woman say, I love God, and hateth his brother or sister, they are liars: for he or she that loveth not his brother or sister whom he or she hath seen, how can he or she love God whom he or she hath not seen?

[21] And this commandment have we from him, That he or she who loveth God love his or her brother or sister also.

You shalt not wrest (pervert) judgment;

You shalt not respect persons

Jas.2 [1] My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord, Yeshua the Messiah, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Rom.2 [11] For there is no respect of persons with God.

Lev.19 [15] Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor.

2 Chr.19 [7] Wherefore now let the fear of Yehovah be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with Yehovah our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

Prov.24 [23] These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

Prov.28 [21] To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

Respect (in a bad way)

נָכַרNa-char

A primitive root; properly to scrutinize, that is, look intently at; revere, or (with suspicion implied), to disregard, ignore, be strange toward, reject, resign, dissimulate (as if ignorant or disowning): - dissemble, estrange, feign self to be another, behave (make) self strange (-ly).

Deut.1 [17] Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's…

-----------------

A few worldly terms:

Compromise -a settlement of differences by mutual concessions; an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands.

-----------------

Agree to disagree or "agreeing to disagree" - to decide not to argue about something any more.

A phrase in English referring to the resolution of a conflict, usually a debate or quarrel, whereby all parties tolerate but do not accept the opposing position(s).

It generally occurs when all sides recognize that further conflict is unnecessary, ineffective or otherwise undesirable.

They may also remain on amicable terms while continuing to disagree.

----------------------

Live and let live: to accept other people as they are, although they may have a different way of life.

-----------------------

Excuses: To apologize for (oneself) for an act that could cause offense. To make allowance for; overlook

-----------------------

Debate: a discussion, as of a public question in an assembly, involving opposing viewpoints:

---------------------------

Scripture

Deut. 1[17] Ye shall not respect persons in judgment;

but ye shall hear the small as well as the great;

ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.

Deut. 16 [19] Thou shalt not wrest (pervert) judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

Eph.6 [9] And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

Col.3 [25] But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

1Pet.1 [17] And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

Are you partial in the LAW?

נֹשְׂאִים פָּנִים בַּתּוֹרָה

Lifting up your face against the Torah

Mal.2 [9] Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law .

1Tim. 5 [21] I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Messiah, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

Jas. 2[4] Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

Jas. 3 [17] But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality , and without hypocrisy.

Prov. 30 [32] If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

Ezek. 31[10] Therefore thus saith the Lord Yehovah; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;[11 ] I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.

Dan. 5 [23] But hast lifted up thyself against Yehovah of heaven ; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:

[24] Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.

[25] And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

[26] This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

[27] TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

[28] PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

[29] Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.

[30] In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.

[31] And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

נסה נשׂא nasa,  nasah - In this case, to lift or raise up, to lift up the hand to do violence, carry (away), exalt ( self ) ( in pride), lift (self) up, lofty, magnify, pardon (yourself from ) respect persons, partiality

Scripture

Exod.20 [16] Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

False

שֶׁקֶר

sheh-ker  - an untruth; by implication a sham (often adverbially): - without a cause, deceit (-ful), false (-hood, -ly), feignedly, liar, + lie, lying, vain (thing), wrongfully.

  שָׁקַר

sha-kar - A primitive root; to cheat, that is, be untrue (usually in words): - fail, deal falsely, lie.

Exod. 20[16] Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Deut.5 [20] Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.

Deut.19 [16] If a false witness rise up against any man to testify against him that which is wrong; [17] Then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before Yehovah, before the priests and the judges, which shall be in those days;[18] And the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness be a false witness, and hath testified falsely against his brother;

[19] Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother: so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

[20] And those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil among you.

[21] And thine eye shall not pity; but life shall go for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.

---------------------------------------

Pss.27 [12] Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

Pss.35 [11] False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I knew not.

Prov.6 [16] These six things doth Yehovah hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him:

[17] A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
[18] An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
[19] A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren – and sisters.

Prov.12 [17] He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

Prov.14 [5] A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

Prov.19[5] A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he or she that speaketh lies shall not escape.

[9] A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he or she that speaketh lies shall perish.

Prov.21[28] A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.

Prov.25 [18] A man or woman that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.

---------------------------

Rom.13 [8] Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

[9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

[10] Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Matt.22 [35] Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,

[36] Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

[37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Yehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

[38] This is the first and great commandment.

[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

[40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

This Neighbor

רֵיעַ    רֵעַ

ray-ah - an associate (more or less close): - a brother, sister, companion, fellow, friend, husband, wife…

Luke 10 [25] And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

[26] He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
[27] And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.

[28] And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

[29] But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Yeshua, And who is my neighbor?

[30] And Yeshua answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

[31] And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.

[32] And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

[33] But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,[34] And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.[35] And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

[36] Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

[37] And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Yeshua unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

----------------

Gal.5 [12] I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

[13] For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

[14] For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

[15] But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

[16] This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
[17] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
[18] But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

[19] Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;

Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings,
and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law (judgments).
[24] And they that are Messiah's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
[25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

[26] Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

--------------------

Rom.2 [1] Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, woman, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

[2] But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

[3] And thinkest thou this, O man, woman that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

[4] Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

[5] But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
[6] Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
[7] To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
[8] But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
[9] Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
[10] But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

[11] For there is no respect of persons with God.

[12] For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

[13] (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

1Pet.2

[12] Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

[13] Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
[14] Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
[15] For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
[16] As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
[17] Honour all men. Love the brother and sister hood. Fear God. Honour the king.
[18] Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.

[19] For this is thankworthy, if a man or woman for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

[20] For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently?

but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

[21] For even hereunto were ye called: because Messiah also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
[22] Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
[23] Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

[24] Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

[25] For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

------------------

Mark 9 [35] And Yeshua sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man (or woman) desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

1Cor.8 [11] And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother or sister perish, for whom Messiah died? [12] But when ye sin so against the brethren and sisters, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Messiah.

-------------------

Matt.15 [18] But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man or a woman.
[19] For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
[20] These are the things which defile a man or a woman: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man or a woman.

--------------------

Let's look up a few more words; you will see all these words are in the same family.

A person that has one will most likely have them all:

Talebearer, Lashon Hara is a Evil Tongue, Envy, Slander, Backbiting, Holding a grudge

Talebearer - רָכִיל  raw-keel - a scandal monger (as travelling about): - slander, carry tales, talebearer, slanderer, informer, a scandal-monger (as travelling about)

------------

Lev. 19 [16] Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am Yehovah.

Prov. 11 [13] A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

Prov. 18 [8] The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Prov. 20 [19] He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

Prov. 26 [20] Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.

[22] The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

------------

James 3 [1] My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

[2] For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man (or woman), and able also to bridle the whole body.

[3] Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

[4] Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

[5] Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

[6] And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

[7] For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

[8] But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

[9] Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

[10] Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren and sisters, these things ought not so to be.

--

[11] Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

[12] Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

[13] Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

---

[14] But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

[15] This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

[16] For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

---

[17] But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

[18] And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace/ shalom.

------------

the "tongue"

1 Pet. 3 [10] For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil , and his lips that they speak no guile:

Pss. 15 [1] Yehovah, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
[2] He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
[3] He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
[4] In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Yehovah. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
[5] He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
------------

Pss. 34 [13] Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

------------

Backbiting tongue = being slanderous

Prov. 25 [23] The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue.

 ------------

Holding a grudge

נטר nâṭar - naw-tar' - A primitive root; to guard; figuratively, to cherish (in anger): - bear grudge, keep (-er), reserve (anger)

---

Lev. 19 [18] Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am Yehovah.

Jas. 5 [9] Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

------------

Slander = defaming, evil report, infamy

Pss. 101 [5] Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

-----------

Prov. 10  [18] He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he (or she) that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

-------------

Gal. 5 [15] But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

------------

Rom. 12 [9] Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. [10] Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Dissimulation: To disguise (one's intentions) under a feigned appearance. To conceal one's true feelings or intentions. We want to be without dissimulation (without hypocrisy), unfeigned - We want to be genuine!

---------------

1 Thes. 4 [9] But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

 ---------------

Here is what "envy" does:

Envy  קנא  qânâ' - kaw-naw' A primitive root; to be (causatively make) zealous, that is, (in a bad sense) jealous or envious: - (be) envy (-ious), be (move to, provoke to) jealous (-y), very, (be) zeal (-ous).

Job .5 [2] For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.

---

Prov. 3 [31] Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

---

Prov. 14 [30] A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

---

Prov. 23 [17] Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Yehovah all the day long.

---

Prov. 27 [4] Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

---

Acts 7  [9] And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

---

Acts 13 [45] But when the (unbelieving) Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

---

Acts 17 [5] But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

---

Rom. 1 [29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

---

Rom. 13 [13] Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

---
