Let’s pray
Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s
Today is August 23, 2014
August -- Augustus Caesar's month
Latin
Augustus "Augustus"
Latin Augustus mensis "month of Augustus"
Latin sextilis mensis "sixth month"
Sextilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.
Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself.
God has His own calendar
We are now in the fifth month of God, 26th day. The fifth month has no biblical name in scripture.
Judaism calls this month "AV", not a good thing.
The name is Babylonian in origin and appeared in the Talmud around the 3rd century. This name is not in the Scriptures
The name "Av", like many of the other names of months in the Jewish religious calendar, came with the Jews that returned to the Land of Israel from their exile in Babylon

Today's Topic
Don’t be
Carried away with
dissimulation, heresy, a salvation issue
Dissimulate: to disguise or
conceal under
a false
appearance; dissemble: feigning; hypocrisy, to conceal one's
true motives,
thoughts, etc.,
by some
pretense; speak
or act
hypocritically.
They
may be pronounced the same, however the definitions are different
I am discussing:
Carried away
2 Kgs. 17
[1] In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea
the son of Elah
to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.
[2] And he did that which was evil in the
sight of Yehovah, but not as the kings of Israel that were before
him.
[3] Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea
became his servant, and gave him presents.
[4] And the king of Assyria found
conspiracy in Hoshea:
for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt,
and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year:
therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
[5] Then the king of Assyria came
up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three
years.
[6] In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of
Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and
placed them in Halah
and in Habor
by the river of Gozan,
and in the cities of the Medes.
[7] For so it was, that the
children of Israel had sinned against Yehovah their God, which had
brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharoah
king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
[8] And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom Yehovah cast out
from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had
made.
[9] And the children of
Israel did secretly those things that were not right against Yehovah their God,
and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the
watchmen to the fenced city.
[10] And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and
under every green tree:
[11] And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the
heathen whom Yehovah carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to
provoke Yehovah to anger:
[12] For they served idols, whereof Yehovah had said unto them, Ye shall
not do this thing.
God’s mercy and
longsuffering
[13] Yet Yehovah testified against Israel, and
against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from
your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the
law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the
prophets.
[14] Notwithstanding they would not hear, but
hardened their necks, like to
the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in Yehovah their God.
[15] And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with
their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they
followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round
about them, concerning whom Yehovah had charged them, that they should not do
like them.
[16] And they left all the commandments of
Yehovah their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and
made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
[17] And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the
fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in
the sight of Yehovah, to provoke him to anger.
[18] Therefore Yehovah was very angry with Israel,
and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah
only.
[19] Also Judah kept not the commandments of
Yehovah their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
Israel and Judah
[20] And Yehovah rejected
all the seed of Israel (Jacob), and
afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast
them out of his sight.
[21] For he rent Israel from the house of David; and
they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat
king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following Yehovah,
and made them sin a great sin.
[22] For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which
he did; they departed not from them;
[23] Until Yehovah removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by
all his servants the prophets.
So was Israel carried away out of their own land
to Assyria unto this day.
[24] And the king
of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and
from Hamath,
and from Sepharvaim,
and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and
they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
[25] And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they
feared not Yehovah: therefore Yehovah sent lions among them, which slew some of
them.
[26] Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The
nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not
the manner of the God of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them,
and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the
land.
[27] Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought
from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner
of the God of the land.
[28] Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria
came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear Yehovah.
[29] Howbeit every nation made gods of their own, and
put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every
nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.
[30] And the men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, and the men of Cuth
made Nergal,
and the men of Hamath
made Ashima,
[31] And the Avites
made Nibhaz
and Tartak,
and the Sepharvites
burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
[32] So they feared Yehovah, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
[33] They feared Yehovah, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.
[34] Unto this
day they do after the former manners: they fear not
Yehovah, neither do they after their statutes, or after their
ordinances, or after the law and commandment which Yehovah commanded the
children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
God’s mercy and
longsuffering
[35] With whom Yehovah had made a covenant, and
charged them saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them,
nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:
[36] But Yehovah, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power
and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to
him shall ye do sacrifice.
[37] And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment,
which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not
fear other gods.
[38] And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither
shall ye fear other gods.
[39] But Yehovah your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the
hand of all your enemies.
[40] Howbeit they did not hearken, but they
did after their former manner.
[41] So these nations feared Yehovah, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.

2 Kgs. 24
[1]
In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up,
and Jehoiakim
became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
[2] And Yehovah sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the
Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon,
and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Yehovah,
which he spake by his servants the prophets.
[3] Surely at the commandment of Yehovah came
this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of
Manasseh, according to all that he did;
[4] And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled
Jerusalem with innocent blood; which Yehovah would not pardon.
[5]
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim,
and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the
kings of Judah?
[6] So Jehoiakim
slept with his fathers:
and Jehoiachin
his son reigned in his stead.
[7]
And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land: for the king of
Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that
pertained to the king of Egypt.
[8]
Jehoiachin
was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem
three months. And his mother's name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan
of Jerusalem.
[9] And he did that which was evil in the
sight of Yehovah, according to all that his father had done.
[10]
At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against
Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.
[11] And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his
servants did besiege it.
[12] And Jehoiachin
the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his
servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him
in the eighth year of his reign.
[13] And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of
Yehovah, and the treasures of the king's house, and cut in pieces all the
vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of Yehovah,
as Yehovah had said.
[14]
And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the
princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all
the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of
the land.
[15]
And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and
the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of
the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.
[16] And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and
smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of
Babylon brought captive to Babylon.
[17] And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's
brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
[18] Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and
he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal,
the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
[19] And he did that which was evil in the sight of Yehovah, according
to all that Jehoiakim
had done.
[20] For through the anger of Yehovah it came to pass in Jerusalem and
Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that
Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
2 Kgs. 25 [21] And
the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried
away out of their land.
---------------
Matt.1 [11] And Josias begat Jechonias
and his brethren, about the time they were carried
away to Babylon:
1Cor.12 [2] Ye
know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these
dumb idols, even as ye were led.
----------------
Dissimulation
Gal.2 [11]
But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was
to be blamed.
[12] For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles:
but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which
were of the circumcision [13] And the other Jews
dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.
Satan always wants to carry you away
Remember the war in Heaven
Rev.12 [15] And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood
after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried
away of the flood.
[16] And the earth
helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood
which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
[17] And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant
of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of
Yeshua the Messiah.
---------------
Remember, Dissimulate or Dissimulation can be
false doctrine which is heresy, a salvation issue.
Dissimulate: to disguise or
conceal under
a false
appearance; dissemble: feigning; hypocrisy, to conceal one's
true motives,
thoughts, etc.,
by some
pretense; speak or act
hypocritically.
Luke 12 [1] In
the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of
people, insomuch that they trode
one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
– their
doctrine
1 Tim. 4 [1] Now the Spirit speaketh
expressly, that in the latter times some
shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
[2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their
conscience seared with a hot iron
Gal. 5 - [19] Now the
works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness,
[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife,
seditions, heresies,[21] Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, revellings,
and such like:
of the which I tell you
before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things
shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Led away with the error of
the wicked
2 Pet. 3 [17] Ye therefore,
beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your
own stedfastness. [18] But grow in grace,
and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Yeshua the Messiah.
To him be glory both now
and forever.
Amen
