 עֲדַת יִשְׂרָאֵל

Shabbat Shalom שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

----------------

 Let’s pray

--------------------------------

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s.

Today is August 10th 2013

August -- Augustus Caesar's month

Latin Augustus "Augustus"
Latin Augustus mensis "month of Augustus"
Latin
sextilis mensis "sixth month"

Sextilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself.

----------------------------------------------------

Yehovah has His own calendar

We are now in the 6th month called Elul, 2nd day

These 2 verses below indicated to us Elul must be the 6th month

Neh.6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul,

לֶ אֱלוּל   in fifty and two days.

Neh.7[73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

---------------------------

It’s very nice to be back in Tennessee after a weeklong visit with my wife to New York, Brooklyn and New Jersey.

While driving through Manhattan and Brooklyn, I noticed many schools and learning institutions of various religions and beliefs.

I see everyone’s teaching, instructing and promoting their belief systems.

So I decided this morning, to do this topic entitled, “Our vision and Focus”.

Now a days, with the many formats such as Facebook, YouTube, paltalk, and so many other chat rooms that are espousing their beliefs and doctrines, I feel the need to really teach, explain, and bring understanding, for a true, unadulterated, untainted Torah mindset to as many people as possible.

Today's Topic:

Our vision and Focus

As always, all are welcome to join us and learn about topics never discussed in churches or synagogues, such as:

The Laws of God

The calendar of God

The pagan calendar we use every day

The three Feasts of Yehovah

The 7th day Sabbath

The 7 Sabbaths in the Feasts, the Holy Convocations

And many more

Again I say, For your convenience, all my studies may be viewed at these websites below:

Religious School Vision Statement

The One in Messiah Congregation is now 11 years old this year, 2013

We have a clear vision and focus

We plan to have a Bible school that builds an integrated model on Biblical education, which encourages and facilitates family involvement and lifelong learning.

We embrace diversity of background as we seek to celebrate our common bonds of Messianic identity: intellectually, spiritually, and culturally.

All of our values are taught from a biblical perspective; all decisions are made within the framework of biblical thought.

We seek to increase biblical knowledge in the many of our disciplines in the areas of Hebrew, History, Social Justice, and all areas of everyday life …with the Bible as our anchor.

We seek to strengthen the relevance of believers in the Messiah as the foundation of everyday living.

We pray to find families that delight in meaningful biblical exploration in informal, yet structured classroom environments.

We encourage all to seek the knowledge of God in scriptural readings, praying, fasting, writing, discussion, liturgical expression and non-traditional (play, art, music, acting, and nature) realms.

We strive for biblical enrichment in the classroom, in the home, and in the world.

We believe God for a faculty that promotes Godly education.

As we attain these things, we will need teachers to volunteer. We need teachers with child- centered focus, embody professionalism, knowledge, dedication, commitment, enthusiasm, creativity, integrity, patience, and accountability.

They must share their time to ensure the continuation of biblical growth and development, with their own biblical education as a priority.

Our biblical school is a home away from home, a holy place.

Our passion for scriptures pervades our curriculum, celebrations, surroundings, behaviors, attitudes, and approaches.

We believe, at One in Messiah in living the sacred values we teach.

We teach God's kindness, compassion, fear He deserves, His truths, His righteousness.

We feel compelled to see those values in the classrooms, offices, sanctuary, chapel, and playground in all aspects of a believer's life.

We want to come together to celebrate the joys of the Messiah and His observance, as we create a safe haven for behavior and involvement.

We believe that education occurs both inside and outside the religious school.

The Bible is a way of life and therefore needs to be encountered through a variety of experiences.

We take this idea very seriously.

As a result, the following programs are included as part of our biblical educational program.

We plan to have family education at One in Messiah Congregation designed to promote Messianic and biblical practices as a way of life.

Our programs will help our families to become more involved in a "biblical life" and in our school.

Parents who also attend our biblical school should demonstrate to their children that biblical learning is a lifelong and family centered process.

All parents are encouraged to participate in the studies.

Some subjects will involve exploring ways to observe the yearly holy days and Shabbat with scriptural source background.

We would love to have community scholars and professionals join us.

This course will look into many concerns of society, culture, and religion from a variety of different scriptural perspectives.

Our curriculum will be designed to teach our children about the Feasts of Yehovah and observances that are part of biblical requirements.

We realize that these "Feasts of Yehovah" should be practiced and observed.

It is of great importance for families to experience these feasts of Yehovah  and the Sabbaths in an individual as well as communal setting.

We encourage you to engage in these observances in your home and to join the One in Messiah family when we celebrate together the Feasts of Yehovah.

We would love to have summer camp and organize a trips to Israel if desired.

A Biblical summer experience offers an intensive exposure to the ideals and values of the Messianic community in a unique setting.

We will encourage all of our students to take advantage of these fine programs.

Financial assistance, we pray, will be available through the offerings we receive. We will have an application process and deadline for each event.

-------------------------

As you can see, I dream big. We believe God for many things. He is a BIG GOD.

I say again, please join us with your prayers, fasting, dedication and finances.

We need donations, properties, buildings, vehicles and finances.

Please call us with all and any ideas you may have at 615 591-9820 or 615 538-8471

Together as, One in Messiah Congregation, we shall see these Godly desires turn into Godly realities.

Come and praise the Messiah with us!

Have questions?

Come, let us reason together.
Praise Yah!

And now some Scriptures on teaching:

Exod.4[12] Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.[15] And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

Exod.18[20] And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.

[9] Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;

[10] Specially the day that thou stoodest before Yehovah thy God in Horeb, when Yehovah said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

[14] And Yehovah commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

Deut.6[1] Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which Yehovah your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:

[7] And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Deut.11[19] And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

Deut.17[11] According to the sentence of the law which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgment which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, nor to the left.

Pss.27[11] Teach me thy way, Yehovah, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

Pss.94[10] He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?

[12] Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, Yehovah, and teachest him out of thy law;
