Shabbat Shalom

שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

Let’s pray

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

Today is August 27, 2016

August -- Augustus Caesar's month

Latin Augustus "Augustus"
Latin Augustus
mensis "month of Augustus"
Latin
sextilis mensis "sixth month"

Sextilis had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 31 days long.

Augustus Caesar clarified and completed the calendar reform of Julius Caesar. In the process, he also renamed this month after himself.

---------------------------------------------------

Yehovah has His own calendar

Today is the 23rd day of the 5th month which has no name in scripture

Judaism calls it Av. Not scriptural.

We read from law and the prophets every Sabbath like they did in the Book of Acts.

Acts 13 [15] And after the reading of the law and the prophets…

Luke 24 [44] And Yeshua said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

The Word of God - Torah, Prophets and Writings (psalms)

Ta Na Kk is an acronym for:

T = Torah (law, teachings) - first 5 books of Moses

N = Navi' eem or prophets (pl. sounds like - Na vi eem)

K = Ke'tuvim or writings (psalms etc.)

At this point, there were neither gospels nor letters.

Today’s Topic:

Oversee, supervise, manage your life and the Word of God

Sad to say, this week was not uncommon for me to experience again, that the family unit was diminished and management and the overseeing of lives was dissolved.

No more Fathers and Mothers are at home with the children.

Even a young lady, a tenant of mine, who just got married, had no children before she was married was startled by all the applicants in her age bracket that were divorced  or never married with one or two young children.  People just living together, playing house etc…

She witnessed “no one” was married any more.

She said, in the church she goes to, all the single ladies, that were devoiced or never married with children, she felt she was an in a strange way the anomaly.

They are now looking for a Sabbath church; they may visit us, pray for them.

-------------------

Eph.4[14] That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

to be tossed to and fro, and carried about with: shows much ignorance of scripture with a lack of understanding, and a discernible spirit.

every wind of doctrine;

Much false doctrine abounds - which may be compared to wind for its lightness, emptiness, and a non-discerning of the direction it comes from, for the noise and pomp it presents.

Sleight – skill, dexterity, cunning, craft

-------------

Ecc. 12 [12] And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study (of many things) is a weariness of the flesh.

[13] Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

[14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Isa.34 [16] Seek ye out of the book of Yehovah, and read…

Luke 11 [9] And I, Yeshua say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.[10] For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Deut.4 [29] But if from thence thou shalt seek Yehovah thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

בָּקַשׁ

bâqash - baw-kash'

A primitive root; to search out (by any method; specifically in worship or prayer); by implication to strive after: - ask, beg, beseech, desire, enquire, get, make inquisition, procure, (make) request, require, seek (for).

דָּרַשׁ

dârash - daw-rash'

A primitive root; properly to tread or frequent; usually to follow (for pursuit or search); by implication to seek or ask; specifically to worship: - ask,  at all, care for,  diligently, inquire, make inquisition, question, require, search, seek [for, out],  surely.

--------

Acts:17[24] God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

[25] Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

[26] And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

[27] That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

[28] For in him we live, and move, and have our being.

As certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

1Tim.1

[1] Paul, an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Yeshua the Messiah, which is our hope;
[2] Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Yeshua the Messiah our Lord.
[3] As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
[4] Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
[5] Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

[6] From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
[7] Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Oversee, supervise, and manage the Word of God and your life

2Tim.2 [15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

[16] But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
[
17] And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
[
18] Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

[23] But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

1Tim.3

[1] This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.
[
2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

[3] Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

[4] One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

[5] (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

[6] Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

Novice

νέος, νεώτερος - neos    neōteros - neh'-os, neh-o'-ter-os

A primary word, including the comparative (second form); “new”, that is, (of persons) youthful, or (of things) fresh; figuratively regenerate: - new, young.

Νεόφυτος neophutos - neh-of'-oo-tos

newly planted, that is, (figuratively) a young convert (“neophyte”): - novice.

[7] Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

[8] Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double tongued, (telling  different stories) not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

[9] Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
[10] And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.
[11] Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

[12] Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

[13] For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Messiah Yeshua.

[14] These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
[15] But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

[16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

--------------

1Pet.4

[8] And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
[
9] Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
[
10] As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
[
11] If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Yeshua the Messiah, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Steward:

a person who manages another's property or financial affairs; one who administers anything as the agent of another or others.

a person who has charge of the household of another, buying or obtaining food, directing the servants, etc.

an employee who has charge of the table, servants, etc., in a club, restaurant, or the like.

a person who attends to the domestic concerns of persons on board a vessel, as in overseeing maids and waiters.

an employee on a ship, train, or bus who waits on and is responsible for the comfort of passengers, takes orders for or distributes food, etc.

a person appointed by an organization or group to supervise the affairs of that group at certain functions.

1Cor.4

[1] Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Messiah, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
[2] Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

Tit.1

[1] Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
[2] In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
[3] But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;

[4] To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Yeshua the Messiah our Saviour.

[5] For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

Ordain elders

[6] If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
[7] For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled,

not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

[8] But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
[9] Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

[10] For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

[11] Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

[12] One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
[13] This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

[14] Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

[15] Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

[16] They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work

----------------

1Tim.6

[1] Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
[2] And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
[3] If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
[4] He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

[5] Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness:from such withdraw thyself.

Tit.3

[1] Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
[2] To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

[3] For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

[4] But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
[5] Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
[6] Which he shed on us abundantly through Yeshua the Messiah our Saviour;
[7] That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
[8] This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

[9] But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

[10] A man (or woman) that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject;
[11] Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Phil. 3 [17]

Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

[18] (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Messiah:
[19] Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

[20] For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Yeshua the Messiah:
[21] Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

2Tim.3

[1] This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

[2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

[3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

[4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

[5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

[6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

[7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

[8] Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

[9] But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

-----------------

[10] But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
[11] Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

[12] Yea, and all that will live godly in Messiah Yeshua shall suffer persecution.

[13] But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

[14] But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

[15] And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Messiah Yeshua.

[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

[17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Remember, Yeshua said: Matt.19 [9] And I say unto you, whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, commits adultery: and whoso marries her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Also remember:

Deut.15 [6] For Yehovah thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

Deut.28 [12] Yehovah shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

Prov.22 [7] the rich rule over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender.

Get out of debt as fast as you can!

In closing: Oversee, supervise, and manage your life and the Word of God
