Happy New Moon

חֹדֶשׁ

Let’s pray

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

Today is Sept. 3, 2016

September -- the seventh month

Middle English septembre
Latin September
Latin septem "seven" + -ber (adj. suffix)
Latin september mensis "seventh month"

September had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

----------

Yehovah has His own calendar

We are now in the sixth month of God called Elul, 1st day

These 2 verses below indicated to us Elul must be the 6th month

Neh. 6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul,

אֱלוּל  in fifty and two days.

Neh. 7 [73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

We read from law and the prophets every Sabbath like they did in the Book of Acts.

Acts 13 [15] And after the reading of the law and the prophets…

Luke 24 [44] And Yeshua said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

The Word of God - Torah, Prophets and Writings (psalms)

Ta Na Kk is an acronym for:

T = Torah (law, teachings) - first 5 books of Moses

N = Navi' eem or prophets (pl. sounds like - Na vi eem)

K = Ke'tuvim or writings (psalms etc.)

At this point, there were neither gospels nor letters.

The sixth month, Elul

1Chr.27

[9] The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite: and in his course were twenty and four thousand.

Ezek.8

[1] And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord Yehovah fell there upon me.

[2] Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the colour of amber.
[
3] And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.
[
4] And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.
[
5] Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
[
6] He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.
[
7] And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
[
8] Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
[
9] And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
[
10] So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.
[
11] And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
[
12] Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, Yehovah seeth us not; Yehovah hath forsaken the earth.
[
13] He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
[
14] Then he brought me to the door of the gate of Yehovah's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
[
15] Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
[
16] And he brought me into the inner court of Yehovah's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of Yehovah, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of Yehovah, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
[
17] Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
[
18] Therefore will I also deal in fury: mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

Hag.1

[1] In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of Yehovah by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,

[2] Thus speaketh Yehovah of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that Yehovah's house should be built.
[3] Then came the word of Yehovah by Haggai the prophet, saying,
[4] Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
[5] Now therefore thus saith Yehovah of hosts; Consider your ways.
[6] Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
[7] Thus saith Yehovah of hosts; Consider your ways.
[8] Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith Yehovah.
[9] Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith Yehovah of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
[10] Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
[11] And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
[12] Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of Yehovah their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as Yehovah their God had sent him, and the people did fear before Yehovah.
[13] Then spake Haggai Yehovah's messenger in Yehovah's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith Yehovah.
[14] And Yehovah stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of Yehovah of hosts, their God,
[15] In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

We shall analyze these sentences:

In the sentences above, we see evidence that there is a God that talks to man; Moses and is called Yehovah, and Moses speaks to a select group of people called the children of Israel, a calendar, a 7th month (a number days in it) a Sabbath, a memorial, trumpets, a offering, a holy convocation and that no work is to be performed which most of the world is spiritually blind too.
