Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s

Today is June 7th, 2014

June -- Juno's month

Middle English jun(e)
Old French juin
Old English junius
Latin Junius "of Juno"
Latin Junius mensis "month of Juno"

Junius had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Juno is the principle goddess of the Roman Pantheon.

She is the goddess of marriage and the well-being of women.

She is the wife and sister of Jupiter. She is identified with the Greek goddess Hera.

Oh well……….

----

God has His own calendar

We are now in the 3rd month called Sivan, 8th day

Esth.8 [9] Then were the king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month Sivan

-----------------

We were spiritually on a seven week journey that we observed, in memorial to meet God again on Mt. Sinai to receive the commandments and receive the Spirit of God.

This Sabbath is the “seventh Sabbath” of the seven Sabbaths we were told to count.

-----------------

We were told to count "Sabbaths" not omers, and we did again.

An "omer" is a "sheaf" of barley,עמר omer  - A dry measure of 1/10 ephah (about 2 liters)

Lev.23 [15] And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

[16] Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto Yehovah.

It is over again, how did you do physically and spiritually?

---------------------------

 **Remember**

Feast of Weeks, Hag Sh'vu-ot - חַג שָׁבֻעֹת

Feast of Harvest (wheat) Hag ha katseer - חַג הַקָּצִיר

Pentecost πεντηκοστή - pentēkoste is tomorrow

We have 2 Sabbaths in a row

This Feast is always on the 1st day of the week known as Sunday

--------------

Remember: Feast of Weeks is an “Offering time”

-------------

Today’s Topic:

Receive in the desert, the wilderness, your life

Did you make any new commitments on your "7" week journey to meet God in the desert, the wilderness?

 Let’s review a few words:

Desert: A region so arid because of little rainfall that it supports only sparse and widely spaced vegetation or no vegetation at all: The Sahara is a vast sandy desert.

A desert is any area in which few forms of life can exist because of lack of water, permanent frost, or absence of soil.

An area of the ocean in which it is believed no marine life exists.

Wilderness: A wild and uncultivated region, as of forest or desert, uninhabited or inhabited only by wild animals; a tract of wasteland.

------

I know the curse of the exile, being scattered, has become our way of live and we don't even know we are in exile.

 We were born in complacency.

Complacency: a feeling of quiet pleasure or security, often while unaware of some potential danger, defect, or the like.

 ------

In the desert or wilderness, it would seem to you that there were not too many things to tempt them to sin, however, Satan was there.

All that YHVH hath spoken we will do - really?

Exod. 19 [1] In the third month,(Sivan) when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.

[2] For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.

[8] And all the people answered together, and said, All that YHVH hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto Yehovah.

---

Pss. 78 [40] How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!

Pss. 106 [14] But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

------

Receiving the Word, the Law and the Spirit anew, afresh!

--------

Receive

The Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit (are one)

The Spirit, and the water, and the blood (agree in one)

Baptized with water

Baptized with the Holy Spirit and with fire

This is he that came by water and blood, even Yeshua the Messiah;

Water makes clean, brings forth life

Now the Blood of Messiah makes us clean in our new life.

--------

John. 19 [34] But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

--------

Receive

1 John 5 [1] Whosoever believeth that Yeshua is the Messiah is born of God:  and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

[4] For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

[5] Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Yeshua is the Son of God?

[6] This is he that came by water and blood, even Yeshua the Messiah; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

[7] For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

[8] And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

[9] If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

[10] He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

[11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

[12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

[13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

[14] And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

[15] And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

[16] If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

[17] All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

[18] We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
[19] And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.

[20] And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Yeshua the Messiah. This is the true God, and eternal life.

[21] Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

-----------

Receive

 The water and the Spirit

Luke 3 [16] John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire: [17] Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

Matt. 3 [16] And Yeshua, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

John 1 [33] And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Spirit.

1 Cor. 12 [13] For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

---------------

All these words above are descriptions of how we should honor and uphold   God’s commandments which are Spirit and life.

John 6 [63] It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:

the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

--------------

A few verses with the word receive, there are many

Acts 1 [8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. [9] And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Acts 2 [33] Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yeshua the Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

[41] Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

John 12

[44] Yeshua cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
[45] And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
[46] I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
[47] And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
[48] He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
[49] For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
[50] And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Acts 17 Those at Berea - [11] These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Rom. 5 [11] ... we also joy in God through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Rom. 8 [15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

1 Cor. 2 [12]  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

1 John 3 [22] And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

2 Cor. 5 [10] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Messiah; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
