שַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם

 ----------------

Let’s pray

--------------------------------------------

Today we use the Gregorian calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s,

June 11, 2016

June -- Juno's month

Middle English jun(e)
Old French juin
Old English junius
Latin Junius "of Juno"
Latin Junius mensis "month of Juno"

Junius had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.

Juno is the principle goddess of the Roman Pantheon. She is the goddess of marriage and the well-being of women. She is the wife and sister of Jupiter. She is identified with the Greek goddess Hera.

---------------------------------------------------

Yehovah has His own calendar

Today is 5th day of Sivan, the third month

Esth.8 [9]…in the third month, that is, the month Sivan,

בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשְּׁלִישִׁי הוּא-חֹדֶשׁ סִיוָן

סִיו  (seev) bright, splendid

Receiving the Word, the Law, Torah and the Spirit anew, afresh today!

The"7" week journey to meet God again

How did you do these "7" weeks, anything happen?

In the desert, the wilderness – your lives

Did you make any new commitments on your "7" week journey to meet God in the desert, the wilderness (our lives)?

---------

In a desert or wilderness, there would seem to be nothing to get in that would go wrong, right?

Well…However, you’re there, your heart and Satan. Again it’s all about faith and receiving from God

 ------

Let’s define a few words:

מִדְבָּר

midbâr / mid-bawr' - A pasture that is, open field, where cattle or other animals may be -  uninhabited land, desert, wilderness

wilderness, 255 times

desert, 13 times

------------

Desert: A region so arid because of little rainfall that it supports only sparse and widely spaced vegetation or no vegetation at all:

The Sahara is a vast sandy desert.

Any area in which few forms of life can exist because of lack of water, permanent frost, or absence of soil

Also: An area of the ocean in which it is believed no marine life exists.

 --------------

Wilderness: A wild and uncultivated region, as of forest or desert, uninhabited or inhabited only by wild animals; a tract of wasteland.

------

Whether we know it or not we are in exile and scattered.

This exile has become our way of life and we don't even know we are in exile.

We were born in complacency.

***Complacency: a feeling of quiet pleasure or security, often while unaware of some potential danger, defect, or the like.

Do you understand what I mean?

------

They said:  All that Yehovah hath spoken to us, we will do

Is that right?

Exod. 19

[1] In the third month,(Sivan) when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.

[2] For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.

[8] And all the people answered together, and said, All that Yehovah hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto Yehovah.

 -----------------

Pss. 78  [40] How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert

Pss. 106 [14] But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.

Num.14 [22] Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; [23] Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:

------

A few verses with the word receive, there are many

Acts 1 [8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. [9] And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Acts 2 [33] Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

[38] Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yeshua the Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

[39] For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

[40] And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

[41] Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

John 12

[44] Yeshua cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
[45] And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.

[46] I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
[47] And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

[48] He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

[49] For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
[50] And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Acts 17  Those at Berea - [11] These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Rom. 5 [11] ... we also joy in God through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Rom. 8 [15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

1 Cor. 2 [12] Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God

1 John 3 [22] And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

2 Cor. 5 [10] For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Messiah; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Receiving and believing by faith go hand-in-hand

While you are in your desert, wilderness, your life, keep believing and receiving from our heavenly Father (lest you be wearied and faint in your minds)

John 20 [27] Then saith he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
[
28] And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
[
29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Rom.15 [13] Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

1Pet.1

[1] Peter, an apostle of Yeshua the Messiah, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
[
2] Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Yeshua the Messiah: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah from the dead,
[
4] To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
[
5] Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

[6] Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
[
7] That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Yeshua the Messiah:

[8] Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
[
9] Receiving the end, goal of your faith, even (which is) the salvation of your souls.

---------------

1 Cor.10 [13] There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Again:  How did you do these "7" weeks? (Spiritually, physically)

In the desert, the wilderness (your lives)

Did you do as good as our brothers and sisters below, in their deserts and wilderness, their lives?

Let’s read:

Heb.11

[1] Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
[2] For by it the elders obtained a good report. [3] Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

[4] By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

[5] By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

[6] But without faith it is impossible to please him: for
he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

[7] By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

[8] By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
[9] By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
[10] For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

[11] Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

[12] Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

[13] These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

[14] For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
[15] And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

[16] But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

[17] By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son
,
[18] Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:
[19] Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

[20] By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

[21] By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.

[22] By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

[23] By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
[24] By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

[25] Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

[26] Esteeming the reproach of Messiah greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

[27] By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

[28] Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

[29] By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

[30] By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
[31] By faith the harlot
Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

[32] And what shall I more say?

for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

[33] Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,[34] Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

[35] Women received their dead raised to life again:

and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance;

that they might obtain a better resurrection:

[36] And others had trial of cruel
mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

[37] They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
[38] (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

[39] And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:[40] God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us (apart from us) should not be made perfect.

Yes, we may all meet one day together

---------------------

One last reminder:

Feast of Weeks / the feast of harvest will start this evening on June 11th, tonight

This is also a Sabbath and continues until June 12, Sunday at sundown.

Have faith and Receive, Receive, Receive

Receive the Law, Torah and the Spirit anew, afresh again!

John 20 [21] Then said Yeshua to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. [22] And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them,

Receive ye the Holy Spirit:

Shabbat Shalom
