Today we use the Gregorian
calendar from Pope Gregory; from the 1500’s
Today is October 20, 2018 -
in the 21 Century
October -- the eighth month – now the 10th month
Middle English octobre
Latin October
Latin octo "eight" + -ber (adj. suffix)
Latin october mensis "eighth month"
October has always had 31 days.
Yehovah has His own calendar:
We are now in the 8th month called Bool, day 10, not Cheshvan or Mar Cheshvan as Judaism and some Messianics say.
1Kgs.6 [38]… in the month Bul / Bool, which is the eighth
month

In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Yehovah, sayig [2] Yehovah hath been sore
displeased with your fathers.[3]
Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith Yehovah of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith Yehovah of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith Yehovah of hosts. – read the rest again, if you like

Today’s Topic:
Set your heart and your soul
to seek Yehovah your God
עַתָּה,

לִדְרוֹשׁ,
לַיהוָה

1Chr.22 [19] Now set your heart
and your soul to seek Yehovah your God; arise therefore, and build
ye the sanctuary of Yehovah God, to bring the ark of
the covenant of Yehovah, and the holy vessels of God,
into the house that is to be built to the name of Yehovah.
Deut.4 [29] But if from thence thou shalt seek Yehovah
thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with
all thy heart and with all thy soul. [30] When thou art in tribulation, and
all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to Yehovah thy God, and shalt be
obedient unto his voice;
[31] (For Yehovah
thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor
forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware
unto them.
1Chr.16 [7] Then on
that day David delivered first this psalm to thank Yehovah
into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
[8] Give thanks unto Yehovah, call upon his name, make
known his deeds among the people.
[9] Sing unto him, sing psalms
unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.
[10] Glory ye in his holy name:
let the heart of them rejoice that seek Yehovah.
[11] Seek Yehovah
and his strength, seek his face continually.
[12] Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the
judgments of his mouth;
[13] O ye seed of Israel his
servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
[14] He is Yehovah
our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
[15] Be ye mindful always of his
covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;
[16] Even of the covenant which
he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
[17] And hath confirmed the same
to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
[18] Saying, Unto thee will I
give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;
[19] When ye were but few, even
a few, and strangers in it.
[20] And when they went from
nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;
[21] He suffered no man to do
them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,
[22] Saying, Touch not mine
anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
[23] Sing unto Yehovah, all the earth; shew
forth from day to day his salvation.
[24] Declare
his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works
among all nations.
[25] For great is Yehovah, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared
above all gods.
[26] For all the gods of the
people are idols: but Yehovah made the heavens.
[27] Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in
his place.
[28] Give unto Yehovah, ye kindreds of the
people, give unto Yehovah glory and strength.
[29] Give unto Yehovah the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and
come before him: worship Yehovah in the beauty of
holiness.
[30] Fear before him, all the
earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
[31] Let the heavens be glad,
and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, Yehovah reigneth.
[32] Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is
therein.
[33] Then shall the trees of the
wood sing out at the presence of Yehovah, because he
cometh to judge the earth.
[34] O give thanks unto Yehovah; for he is good; for his mercy endureth
for ever.
[35] And say ye,
Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from
the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.
[36] Blessed be Yehovah God of Israel for ever
and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised Yehovah.
2Chr.26 [1] Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the
room of his father Amaziah.
[2] He built Eloth,
and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
[3] Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two
years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jecoliah
of Jerusalem [4] And he did that
which was right in the sight of Yehovah, according to
all that his father Amaziah did.[5] And he sought God in the days of
Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought Yehovah,
God made him to prosper.
2Chr.11[16] And
after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set
their hearts to seek Yehovah God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to
sacrifice unto Yehovah God of their fathers. [17] So they
strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam
the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way
of David and Solomon.
2Chr.14
[1] So Abijah slept with his fathers,
and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his
son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.
[2]
And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes
of Yehovah his God:
[3]
For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake
down the images, and cut down the groves:
[4]
And commanded Judah to seek Yehovah God of their
fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.
[5]
Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the
images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.
2Chr.15
1] And the Spirit of God came
upon Azariah the son of Oded:
[2]
And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear
ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; Yehovah is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek
him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he
will forsake you.
[3]
Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a
teaching priest, and without law.
[4]
But when they in their trouble did turn unto Yehovah
God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
[5]
And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that
came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries.
[6]
And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with
all adversity.
[7]
Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be
rewarded.
[8]
And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the
abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the
cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of Yehovah, that was before the porch of Yehovah.
[9]
And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of
Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in
abundance, when they saw that Yehovah his God was
with him.
[10]
So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the
fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
[11]
And they offered unto Yehovah the same time, of the
spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.
[12]
And they entered into a covenant to seek Yehovah God
of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
[13]
That whosoever would not seek Yehovah God of Israel
should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
[14]
And they sware unto Yehovah
with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.
[15]
And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart,
and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and Yehovah gave them rest round about. [16]
And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she
had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her
idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.
2Chr.20
[1] It came to pass after this also,
that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon,
and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
[2]
Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great
multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold,
they be Hazazon-tamar, which is En-gedi.
[3]
And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek Yehovah,
and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
[4]
And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of
Yehovah: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek Yehovah.
[5]
And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house
of Yehovah, before the new court,
[6]
And said, YehovahGod of our fathers, art not thou God
in heaven? and rulest not
thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is
able to withstand thee?
[7]
Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before
thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of
Abraham thy friend for ever?
[8]
And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name,
saying,
[9]
If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine,
we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this
house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
[10]
And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and
mount Seir, whom thou wouldest
not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned
from them, and destroyed them not;
[11]
Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession,
which thou hast given us to inherit.
[12]
O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no
might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what
to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
[13]
And all Judah stood before Yehovah, with their little
ones, their wives, and their children.
[14]
Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the
son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of Yehovah in the midst of the congregation;
[15] And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of
Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith Yehovah unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of
this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
[16]
To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come
up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the
end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
[17]
Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set
yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of Yehovah
with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to
morrow go out against them: for Yehovah will
be with you.
[18]
And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and
the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before Yehovah,
worshipping Yehovah.
[19]
And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites,
and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to
praise Yehovah God of Israel with a loud voice on
high.
[20]
And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said,
Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in Yehovah your God, so shall ye be established; believe his
prophets, so shall ye prosper.
[21]
And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto Yehovah, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as
they went out before the army, and to say, Praise Yehovah;
for his mercy endureth for ever.
[22]
And when they began to sing and to praise, Yehovah
set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir,
which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
[23]
For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against
the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and
destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
[24]
And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto
the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none
escaped.
[25]
And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they
found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious
jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry
away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.
[26]
And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed Yehovah:
therefore the name of the same place was called, The
valley of Berachah, unto this day.
[27]
Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the
forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for Yehovah
had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
[28]
And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house
of Yehovah.
[29]
And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had
heard that Yehovah fought against the enemies of
Israel.
[30]
So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.
[31]
And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he
began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years
in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the
daughter of Shilhi.
[32]
And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and
departed not from it, doing that which was right in the sight of Yehovah.
[33]
Howbeit the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not
prepared their hearts unto the God of their fathers.
[34]
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are
written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who is
mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.
[35]
And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did
very wickedly…
Isa.51[1] Hearken to me, ye that
follow after righteousness, ye that seek Yehovah:
look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are
digged.
[2]
Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him
alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
[3]
For Yehovah shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all
her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert
like the garden of Yehovah; joy and gladness shall be
found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
[4] Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me,
O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to
rest for a light of the people.
[5]
My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge
the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
[6] Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon
the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth
shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like
manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my
righteousness shall not be abolished.
[7] Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the
people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye
afraid of their revilings.
[8]
For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the
worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.
[9] Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Yehovah; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations
of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and
wounded the dragon?
[10]
Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that
hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over?
[11]
Therefore the redeemed of Yehovah shall return, and
come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they
shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
[12] I, even I, am he that comforteth
you: who
art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that
shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;
[13]
And forgettest Yehovah thy
maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the
earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the
oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where
is the fury of the oppressor?
[14]
The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed,
and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.
[15]
But I am Yehovah thy God, that
divided the sea, whose waves roared: Yehovah of hosts
is his name.
[16] And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee
in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the
foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.
[17] Awake, awake, stand up, O
Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of Yehovah
the cup of his fury; thou hast drunken the dregs of the cup of trembling, and
wrung them out.
[18] There is none to guide her
among all the sons whom she hath brought forth; neither is there any that taketh her by the hand of all the sons that she hath
brought up.
[19] These two things are come
unto thee; who shall be sorry for thee? desolation,
and destruction, and the famine, and the sword: by whom shall I comfort thee?
[20] Thy sons have fainted, they lie at the head of all the streets, as a wild bull
in a net: they are full of the fury of Yehovah, the
rebuke of thy God.
[21] Therefore hear now this,
thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine:
[22] Thus saith
thy Lord Yehovah, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out
of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of
the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it
again:
[23] But I will put it into the
hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we
may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to
them that went over.
Hos.10 [12] Sow to
yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it
is time to seek Yehovah,
till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
Amos 5 [6] Seek Yehovah,
and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and
devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel. [7] Ye who
turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
[8] Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth
the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the
day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of
the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the
earth: Yehovah is his name:
[9] That strengtheneth
the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the
fortress.
[10] They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
Ezra.6 [21] And the
children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had
separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of
the heathen of the land, to seek Yehovah
God of Israel, did eat, [22] And kept the feast of unleavened
bread seven days with joy: for Yehovah had made them
joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen
their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
Pss.77[2] In the day of my
trouble I sought the Lord: my
sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.
Pss.37[32] The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
Prov.11[27] He that diligently seeketh
good procureth favour: but
he that seeketh
mischief, it shall come unto him.
Prov.14[6] A scorner seeketh
wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy
unto him that understandeth.
Prov.15[14] The heart of him
that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
Prov.17[9] He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth
very friends.
[11] An evil
man seeketh
only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.
[19] He loveth transgression that loveth
strife: and he that exalteth his gate seeketh
destruction.
Prov.18[1] Through desire a man, having
separated himself, seeketh
and intermeddleth with all wisdom.
[15] The
heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear
of the wise seeketh
knowledge.
Pss.34
[1]
I will bless Yehovah at all times: his praise shall
continually be in my mouth.[2]
My soul shall make her boast in Yehovah: the humble
shall hear thereof, and be glad.
[3]
O magnify Yehovah with me,
and let us exalt his name together.
[4] I sought Yehovah, and he heard me,
and delivered me from all my fears.
[5]
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
[6]
This poor man cried, and Yehovah heard him, and saved
him out of all his troubles.
[7] The
angel of Yehovah encampeth
round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
[8]
O taste and see that Yehovah is good: blessed is the
man that trusteth in him.
[9]
O fear Yehovah, ye his saints: for there is no want
to them that fear him.
[10]
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek Yehovah shall not want any good thing.
[11]
Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Yehovah.
[12]
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
[13]
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
[14]
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
[15]
The eyes of Yehovah are upon the righteous, and his
ears are open unto their cry.
[16]
The face of Yehovah is against them that do evil, to
cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
[17] The
righteous cry, and Yehovah heareth,
and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
[18]
Yehovah is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart;
and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
[19]
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but Yehovah delivereth him out of
them all.
[20]
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
[21]
Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
[22]
Yehovah redeemeth the soul
of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
Pss.105 [3] Glory ye
in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice
that seek Yehovah.
[4] Seek Yehovah, and his strength:
seek his face evermore.
Prov.28 [5] Evil men
understand not judgment: but they that seek Yehovah
understand all things.
Acts.17 [16] Now while Paul waited for them at
Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to
idolatry.
[17] Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout
persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
[18] Then certain philosophers of the
Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered
him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a
setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the
resurrection.
[19] And they took him, and
brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest,
is?
[20] For thou bringest certain strange
things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
[21]
(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in
nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)[22] Then Paul stood in the midst of
Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive
that in all things ye are too superstitious.
[23] For as I passed by, and
beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly
worship, him declare I unto you.
[24] God that made the world and all
things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth
not in temples made with hands;
[25] Neither is worshipped with
men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he
giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
[26] And hath made of one blood
all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath
determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
[27] That they should seek the
Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far
from every one of us:
[28] For in him we live, and
move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we
are also his offspring.
[29] Forasmuch then as we are the
