Shabbat Shalom
Let’s Pray
Today is September 24, 2011
Latin september mensis "seventh month" (when the calendar was started in March)
September had 30 days, until Numa when it had 29 days, until Julius when it became 30 days long.
---------------------
However we restore the calendar of God
We are now in the 6th Month called Elul, 24th day
No scripture says the 6th month is Elul
We did some study and came to this conclusion below.
Neh. 6 [15] So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days. (Must 6th month)
Neh. 7 [73] So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.

I am doing an in-depth study of the 10 Commandments in Scripture
I am counting from 10 down to 1
The last 9 studies were:
The 2nd Commandment
Exod.20
[4]
Thou shalt not make unto thee
any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven
above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the
earth:
[5] Thou
shalt not bow down thyself to them,
nor serve them: for I
Yehovah thy God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and
fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them
that love me, and keep my commandments.
The 3rd Commandment
Exod.20 [7] Thou shalt not take the name of Yehovah thy God in vain; for Yehovah will not hold him guiltless
that taketh his name in vain.
The 4th Commandment
Exod.20 [8] Remember
the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[9]
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10] But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yehovah thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy
daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger
that is within thy gates:
[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the
sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
The 5th Commandment
Exod.20 [12] Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which Yehovah thy God giveth thee.
The 6th Commandment
Exod.20[13] Thou shalt not kill, murder
The 7th Commandment
Exod.20 [14] Thou shalt not commit adultery.
The 8th Commandment
Exod.20 [15] Thou shalt not steal.
Commandment 9
[16] Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. (Which takes in lying also.)
Commandment 10
[17] Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
I know I am not getting all the scriptures, however I feel that I am conveying to you the understanding of these commandments.
Today’s Topic: the 1st Commandment
Thou shalt have no other gods before My Face

Exod.20
[1] And God spake
all these words, saying,
[2] I am Yehovah thy God,
which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Deut.5
[1] And Moses
called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and
judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep,
and do them.
[2] Yehovah
our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
[3] Yehovah
made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of
us here alive this day.
[4] Yehovah
talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,
[5] (I stood between Yehovah and you at
that time, to shew you the work of Yehovah:
for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;)
saying,
[6] I am Yehovah thy God,
which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
[7] Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
Exod.23[13] And in all things that I have said unto you be
circumspect: and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let
it be heard out of thy mouth.
Exod.34 [14] For thou shalt
worship no other god: for Yehovah, whose name
is Jealous, is a jealous God: [15] Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants
of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods , and do sacrifice unto
their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
[16] And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters
go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.
[17] Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
Deut.6 [14] Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you; [15] (For Yehovah thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of Yehovah thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
Deut.7[1] When Yehovah thy God
shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest
to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and
the Girgashites,
and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites,
and the Hivites,
and the Jebusites,
seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
[2] And when Yehovah thy God
shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them,
and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no
covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto
them:
[3] Neither shalt thou make
marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto
his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto
thy son.
[4] For they will turn away thy son from following me, that
they may serve other gods: so will the anger of Yehovah
be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
[5] But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and
break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven
images with fire.
[6] For thou art an holy people unto Yehovah
thy God: Yehovah
thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people
that are upon the face of the earth.
Deut.8
[19] And it shall be, if thou
do at all forget Yehovah thy God, and walk after
other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this
day that ye shall surely perish.
Deut.11[16] Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; [17] And then Yehovah's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which Yehovah giveth you.
Deut.13
[1]
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth
thee a sign or a wonder,
[2] And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake
unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let
us serve them;
[3] Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of
that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for Yehovah
your God proveth
you, to know whether ye love Yehovah your God
with all your heart and with all your soul.
[4] Ye shall walk after Yehovah your God,
and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve
him, and cleave unto him.
[5] And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death;
because he hath spoken to turn you away from Yehovah
your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of
the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which Yehovah
thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the
evil away from the midst of thee.
[6] If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter,
or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine
own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which
thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
[7] Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh
unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the
other end of the earth;
[8] Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken
unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him,
neither shalt
thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal
him:
[9] But thou shalt surely kill
him; thine
hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of
all the people.
[10] And thou shalt stone him with
stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from Yehovah
thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of
bondage.
[11] And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such
wickedness as this is among you.
[12] If thou shalt hear say in
one of thy cities, which Yehovah thy God hath
given thee to dwell there, saying,
[13] Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you,
and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve
other gods, which ye have not known;
[14] Then shalt thou inquire, and make search,
and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that
such abomination is wrought among you;
[15] Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of
that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is
therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
[16] And thou shalt gather all the
spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt
burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for Yehovah
thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it
shall not be built again.
[17] And there shall cleave nought of the cursed
thing to thine
hand: that Yehovah
may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew
thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn
unto thy fathers;
[18] When thou shalt hearken to the
voice of Yehovah
thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that
which is right in the eyes of Yehovah thy God.
Deut.17
[1] Thou shalt
not sacrifice unto Yehovah thy God any
bullock, or sheep, wherein is blemish, or any evilfavouredness:
for that is an abomination unto Yehovah thy God.
[2] If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which Yehovah
thy God giveth
thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of Yehovah
thy God, in transgressing his covenant,
[3] And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the
sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
[4] And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and inquired
diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such
abomination is wrought in Israel:
[5] Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that
woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or
that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they
die.
[6] At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is
worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not
be put to death.
[7] The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to
death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt
put the evil away from among you.
Deut.18
[20] But
the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not
commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods,
even that prophet shall die.
Deut.28
[14] And thou shalt
not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right
hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
[36] Yehovah
shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt
set over thee,
unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt
thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
[64] And Yehovah
shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto
the other; and there thou shalt serve other
gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
Deut. 29[21] And Yehovah shall
separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the
curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
[22] So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up
after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far
land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses
which Yehovah
hath laid upon it;
[23] And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and
burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any
grass groweth
therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah,
and Zeboim,
which Yehovah
overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
[24] Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath Yehovah
done thus unto this land? what meaneth
the heat of this great anger?
[25] Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of Yehovah
God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of
the land of Egypt:
[26] For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom
they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:
[27] And the anger of Yehovah was kindled
against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this
book:
[28] And Yehovah rooted them out of their land
in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another
land, as it is this day.
[29] The secret things belong unto Yehovah
our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children
for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Deut.30
[17] But if thine
heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt
be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; [18] I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall
surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither
thou passest
over Jordan to go to possess it.
[19] I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have
set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life,
that both thou and thy seed may live:
[20] That thou mayest love Yehovah
thy God, and that thou mayest obey his
voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto
him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest
dwell in the land which Yehovah sware
unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
Served other gods
Josh.23[16] When ye have transgressed the covenant of Yehovah
your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods,
and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of Yehovah
be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land
which he hath given unto you.
Josh.24[2] And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith
Yehovah
God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time,
even Terah,
the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they
served other gods.
[16] And the people answered
and said, God forbid that we should forsake Yehovah,
to serve other gods;
Judg.2[12] And they forsook Yehovah
God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed
other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed
themselves unto them, and provoked Yehovah to anger.
[17] And yet they would not
hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and
bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their
fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of Yehovah;
but they did not so.[19] And it came to pass, when the judge was dead,
that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in
following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they
ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
Judg.10[13] Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods:
wherefore I will deliver you no more.
1Sam.8[8] According to all the works which they have done
since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith
they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
1Sam.26[19] Now therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king
hear the words of his servant. If Yehovah have stirred
thee up against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of
men, cursed be they before Yehovah; for they
have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of Yehovah,
saying, Go, serve other gods.
1Kgs.9[6] But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye
or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I
have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
[9] And they shall answer, Because
they forsook Yehovah their God, who brought forth
their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods,
and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath Yehovah
brought upon them all this evil.
1Kgs.11[4] For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that
his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not
perfect with Yehovah his God, as was the heart of
David his father.
[10] And had commanded him
concerning this thing, that he should not go after
other gods: but he kept not that which Yehovah
commanded.
1Kgs.14[9] But hast done evil above all that were before
thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods,
and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:
2Kgs.5[17] And Naaman said, Shall
there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules' burden of
earth? for
thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto
other gods, but unto Yehovah.
2Kgs.17[7] For so it was, that the children of Israel had
sinned against Yehovah their God, which had brought
them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharoah
king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
[35] With whom Yehovah
had made a covenant, and charged them saying, Ye
shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them,
nor sacrifice to them:
[37] And the statutes, and
the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye
shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.
[38] And the covenant that I
have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.
2Kgs.22[17] Because they have forsaken me, and have burned
incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all
the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this
place, and shall not be quenched.
2Chr.7[19] But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and
my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other
gods, and worship them;
[22] And it shall be
answered, Because
they forsook Yehovah God of their fathers, which
brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods,
and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil
upon them.
2Chr.28[25] And in every several city of Judah he made high
places to burn incense unto other gods, and provoked to anger Yehovah
God of his fathers.
2Chr.34[25] Because they have forsaken me, and have burned
incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all
the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this
place, and shall not be quenched.
Jer.1[16] And I will utter my judgments against them
touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense
unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
Jer.7[6] If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless,
and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after
other gods to your hurt:
[9] Will ye steal, murder,
and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk
after other gods whom ye know not;
[18] The children gather
wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead
their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink
offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
Jer.11[10] They are turned back to the iniquities of their
forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods
to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my
covenant which I made with their fathers.
Jer.13[10] This evil people, which refuse to hear my words,
which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods,
to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good
for nothing.
Jer.16[11] Then shalt thou say unto
them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith
Yehovah,
and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have
worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
[13] Therefore will I cast
you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers;
and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew
you favour.
Jer.19[4] Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged
this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither
they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this
place with the blood of innocents;
[13] And the houses of
Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place
of Tophet,
because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all
the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.
Jer.22[9] Then they shall answer, Because they have
forsaken the covenant of Yehovah their God,
and worshipped other gods, and served them.
Jer.25[6] And go not after other gods to serve them,
and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands;
and I will do you no hurt.
Jer.32[29] And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city,
shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose
roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto
other gods, to provoke me to anger.
Jer.35[15] I have sent also unto you all my servants the
prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man
from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to
serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to
your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
Jer.44[3] Because of their wickedness which they have
committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to
serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.
[5] But they hearkened not,
nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto
other gods.
[8] In that ye provoke me
unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods
in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell,
that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach
among all the nations of the earth?
[15] Then all the men which
knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the
women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the
land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
Dan.3[29] Therefore I make a decree, That every people,
nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss
against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego,
shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because
there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.
Hos.3[1] Then said Yehovah unto me, Go
yet, love a woman beloved of her friend, yet an adulteress,
according to the love of Yehovah toward the
children of Israel, who look to other gods, and love flagons of wine.
1Cor.8[4] As concerning therefore the eating of those
things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is
nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

Yehovah is God,
and that there is none else
Deut.4 [35] Unto thee it was shewed,
that thou mightest
know that Yehovah
he is God; there is none else beside him.
[39] Know
therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that Yehovah
he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
1Kgs.8 [60] That
all the people of the earth may know that Yehovah
is God, and that there is none else.
Isa.45 [5] I am Yehovah,
and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though
thou hast not known me:
[6] That they may
know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside
me. I am Yehovah,
and there is none else.
[14] Thus saith
Yehovah,
The labour
of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans,
men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine:
they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall
down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is
in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.
[18] For thus saith
Yehovah
that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he
hath established it, he created it not in vain, he
formed it to be inhabited: I am Yehovah; and there
is none else.
[22]
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and
there is none else.
Isa.46 [9] Remember the
former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God,
and there is none like me,
[10]
For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None
seeth
me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in
thine
heart, I am, and none else beside me.
Joel.2[27] And ye shall
know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am Yehovah
your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

Deut.31
[1]
And Moses went and spake these words unto
all Israel.
[2] And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this
day; I can no more go out and come in: also Yehovah
hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over
this Jordan.
[3] Yehovah
thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from
before thee, and thou shalt possess them:
and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as Yehovah
hath said.
[4] And Yehovah shall do unto them as he did to
Sihon
and to Og, kings of
the Amorites, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed.
[5] And Yehovah shall give them up before your
face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have
commanded you.
[6] Be
strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for Yehovah
thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake
thee.
[7] And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all
Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto
the land which Yehovah hath sworn unto their fathers
to give them; and thou shalt cause them to
inherit it.
[8] And Yehovah, he it is that doth go before
thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake
thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
[9] And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons
of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant
of Yehovah,
and unto all the elders of Israel.
[10] And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years,
in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,
[11] When all Israel is come to appear before Yehovah
thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt
read this law before all Israel in their hearing.
[12] Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy
stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn,
and fear Yehovah
your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:
[13] And that their children, which have not known any thing,
may hear, and learn to fear Yehovah your God, as
long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
[14] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Behold, thy days
approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the
tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and
Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.
[15] And Yehovah appeared in the tabernacle in a
pillar of a cloud: and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the
tabernacle.
[16] And Yehovah said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt
sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after
the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and
will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.
[17] Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will
forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured,
and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that
day. Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?
[18] And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which
they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.
[19] Now therefore write ye this song for
you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this
song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
[20] For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware
unto their fathers, that floweth with milk
and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then
will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my
covenant.
[21] And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are
befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it
shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their
imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the
land which I sware.
[22] Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children
of Israel.
[23] And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be
strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the
children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and
I will be with thee.
[24] And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the
words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
[25] That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the
covenant of Yehovah, saying,
[26] Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the
covenant of Yehovah your God, that it may be there
for a witness against thee.
[27] For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck:
behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against
Yehovah;
and how much more after my death?
[28] Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers,
that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record
against them.
[29] For I know that after my death ye will utterly
corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you;
and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the
sight of Yehovah,
to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.
[30] And Moses spake in the ears of
all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.
