Today we use the Gregorian calendar
from Pope Gregory, from the 1500’s
Today is February 2, 2013
February -- month of Februa
Middle English Februarius
Latin Februarius "of Februa"
Latin Februa(s) "Februa" + -arius "ary (pertaining to)"
Latin Februarius mensis "month of Februa"
Latin dies februatus "day of purification"
Februarius had 28 days, until circa 450 BC when it had 23
or 24 days on some of every second year, until Julius when it had 29 days on
every fourth year and 28 days otherwise.
Februa is the Roman festival of purification held on February fifteenth. It is possibly of
Sabine origin.

Now, God’s truth

four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the
word of Yehovah unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying…

Some News:
Today’s
topic:
Two ways to define words:
1: Today's reasoning, the
worldly meaning and reasoning and
2: I have a little gas for my
time machine; let us go to the time of Moses and visit the camp, and use the
scriptural meaning and reasoning.
Does being:
Moral, Sincere,
Conservative, Right = make you Holy
(pertaining to the God of Israel) - NO!!!!
These good attributes do not gender truth (pertaining to the God of Israel)
Some people are sweeter,
kinder, more gentile, more merciful, more understanding, etc. then the God of
Israel.
---------------------
Some people are holier the God
Isa.65[5] Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near
to me; for I am holier than thou.
God says: These are a smoke in my nose, a fire
that burneth all the day.
----------------------------------------
Some words to review:
Conservative
1. Disposed to preserve existing conditions,
institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.

conservative estimate.
3. traditional in style or manner; avoiding
novelty or showiness: conservative suit.
4. (often initial capital letter) of or

earnest: a sincere apology.
2. genuine; real: a sincere effort to
improve; a sincere friend.
3. pure; unmixed; unadulterated.

principles or rules of right conduct or the distinction between right and
wrong; ethical: moral attitudes.
2. Expressing or conveying truths or counsel as
to right conduct, as a speaker or a literary work.
3. Founded on the fundamental principles of right
conduct rather than on legalities, enactment, or custom: moral obligations.
4. capable of conforming to the rules of right
conduct: a moral being.
5. conforming to the rules of right
conduct ( opposed to immoral ): a moral man.
We all know the opposite of these attributes
above are wrong.
However…
Let's explore the Word of God
Matt.23 [15] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte,
and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the
child of hell than yourselves.
2Chr.19[2] And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest
thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate Yehovah? therefore is wrath upon thee from before Yehovah.
Rom.3 [8] And not rather, (as we be
slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that
good may come? whose damnation is just.
2Cor.11[4] For if he that cometh preacheth
another Yeshua, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit,
which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye
might well bear with him
Gal.1[6] I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you
into the grace of Messiah unto another gospel:
Gal.1[8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other
gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be
accursed.
[9] As we said
before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you
than that ye
Amos.3[2] You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore
I will punish you for all your iniquities.
Matt.10[37] He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy
of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of
me.
[38] And he that
taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
Phil.1[16] The one preach Messiah of
contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:

Isa.30
[10] Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us
right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:[11] Get you out of
the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from
before us.
Matt.15[8] This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is
far from me.
Mark.7[6] He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is
far from me.
Ezek.33[31] And they come unto thee as the people
cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but
they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
[32] And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a
pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words,
but they do them not.[33] And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,)
then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.
Isa.29[13]
Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their
mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their
heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Do
we need to utilize the terms below to understand scripture?
Or
Come
as a child?
Matt. 10
[13] And they brought
young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked
those that brought them.
[14] But when Yeshua saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them,
Suffer the little children to
come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
[15] Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not
receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
[16]
And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
eisegesis - an interpretation, especially of
Scripture, that expresses the interpreter's own ideas, bias, or the like,
rather than the meaning of the text.
------------
Again,
do we need to utilize the terms below to understand scripture?
Or
Come
as a child?
exegesis - critical explanation or
interpretation of a text or portion of a text, especially of the Bible.
eisegesis - an interpretation, especially of Scripture, that
expresses the interpreter's own ideas, bias, or the like, rather than the
meaning of the text.
-------------
Homiletics: the art of preaching; the
branch of practical theology that treats of homilies or
sermons.
Homily: a sermon, usually on a Biblical topic
and usually of a non-doctrinal nature.
An admonitory or moralizing discourse
An inspirational saying or cliché
---------------------
Do we need Judaism’s made up reasoning?
Pardes refers to (types of) approaches to biblical exegesis in rabbinic Judaism
(or - simpler - interpretation of text in Torah study). The term, sometimes
also spelled PaRDeS, is an acronym formed from
the name initials of the following four approaches:
Peshat (פְּשָׁט) — "plain"
("simple") or the direct meaning
Remez (רֶמֶז) —
"hints" or the deep (allegoric: hidden or symbolic) meaning beyond
just the literal sense.
Derash (דְּרַשׁ) — from Hebrew darash: "inquire" ("seek") — the
comparative (midrashic
) meaning, as
given through similar occurrences.
Sod (סוֹד) (pronounced with a long O as in 'bone') —
"secret" ("mystery") or the esoteric/mystical meaning, as
given through inspiration or revelation.
---------------
Each
type of Pardes
interpretation examines the extended meaning of a text. As a general rule, the
extended meaning never contradicts the base meaning.
The
Peshat means the plain or contextual meaning
of the text.
Remez is
the allegorical meaning. Derash includes the
metaphorical meaning, and
Sod represents the hidden meaning. There is often
considerable overlap, for example when legal understandings of a verse are
influenced by mystical interpretations or when a "hint" is determined
by comparing a word with other instances of the same word.
Some
thinkers, such as the Tolaat Yaakov,
divide Pardes into Peshat, Remez, Din (law), and Sod. According to this understanding,
Derash is divided into the homiletics, which are
classified under Remez, and legal interpretations,
which are classified under Din.

Sabbath
the 7th day
Question:
Why
are we here today?
Answer:
We were told to remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy
----------
The
4th Commandment is a part of the covenant given to us at Mount Sinai in the 3rd
month, Sivan
Ex. 20 [8] Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
זכר zâkar - zaw-kar' - A primitive root; properly
to mark (so as to be recognized), that is, to remember; by implication
to mention; make mention of, be mindful, recount, record (-er), remember,
make to be remembered, bring (call, come, keep, put) to (in) remembrance,
still, think on, well.
-----
back to Ex. 20
[9] Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[10]
But the seventh day is the Sabbath of Yehovah thy God: in
it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy
manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is
within thy gates:
[11] For in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, the
sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yehovah
blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Rev.1 [10] I was in the Spirit on
the Lord's day - (The Sabbath)
-----------
Lev. 23 [3] Six days
shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an
"holy convocation"; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of Yehovah in all
your dwellings.
The Sabbath is a "holy
convocation"
מקרא miqra: convocation, convoking, reading, a calling together,
sacred assembly, something called out, that is, a public meeting
(the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal
קדשׁ kodesh: a sacred place or thing;
consecrated, dedicated, hallowed, holiness, saint, sanctuary, apartness,
sacredness, separateness, apartness, sacredness, holiness

Today's
Topic
What about the cost? (Again)
(Do you want to
serve God all the way?)
Joel 3 [14] Multitudes,
multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of Yehovah is near in the
valley of decision.
-------------------------------
"Making
excuses"
Luke 14 [16] Then said he unto him, A certain man made a
great supper, and bade many:
[17] And sent his servant at supper time to say to
them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.
[18] And they all with one
consent began to make excuse.
The
first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and
see it: I pray thee have me excused.
[19]
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and
I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
[20]
And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
[21] So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being
angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the
city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
[22] And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet
there is room.
[23] And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges,
and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
[24] For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my
supper.
[25] And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto
them,
[26]
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children,
and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
[27] And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after
me, cannot be my disciple.

[28] For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth
the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
[29]
Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it,
all that behold it begin to mock him,
[30] Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
[31] Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not
down first, and consulteth
whether he be
able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty
thousand?
[32] Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage,
and desireth
conditions of peace.
[33] So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not
"all that he hath", he cannot be my disciple.
[34] Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour,
wherewith shall it be seasoned?
[35]
It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out.

"Follow
me"
John 1 [43] The day following Yeshua would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
John 10 [27] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
[28]
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish,
neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
[29] My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is
able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
[30] I and my Father are one.
John 12
[25] He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he
that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto
life eternal.
[26]
If any man serve me, let him follow me;
and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will
my Father honour.
---------------
John 21 [15] So when they had dined, Yeshua saith to Simon Peter, Simon,
son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He
saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
[16] He saith to him again the
second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith
unto him, Feed my sheep.
[17] He saith unto him the third
time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the
third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto
him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Yeshua
saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
[18] Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old,
thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee
whither thou wouldest not.
[19]
This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had
spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
Matt.
8
[19]
And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
[20] And Yeshua - Yeshua saith unto him, The
foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath
not where to lay his head.
[21]
And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
[22] But Yeshua - Yeshua said unto him, Follow me;
and let the dead bury their dead.
Luke
9
[57]
And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.
[58] And Yeshua - Yeshua said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of
the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
[59]
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
[60] Yeshua - Yeshua said unto him, Let the
dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
[61]
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell,
which are at home at my house.
[62] And Yeshua - Yeshua said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the
plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Matt. 19 [16] And, behold, one came and
said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal
life?
[17]
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is
none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the
commandments.
[18] He saith unto him, Which? Yeshua said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou
shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false
witness,
[19] Honour thy
father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself.
[20] The young man saith unto him, All
these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
[21] Yeshua said unto him, If
thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and
thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
[22] But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful:
for he had great possessions.
[23] Then said Yeshua unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a
rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
[24] And again I say unto you, It is
easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to
enter into the kingdom of God.
[25] When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who
then can be saved?
[26] But Yeshua beheld them, and said unto them, With men
this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
[27]
Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we
have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
[28] And Yeshua said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man
shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones,
judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
[29]
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or
mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an
hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
[30]
But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be
first.

Follow
me
Matt. 4 [19] And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
[20]
And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
[21]
And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee,
and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets;
and he called them.
[22] And they immediately left the ship and their father, and
followed him.
Matt. 9 [9] And as Yeshua passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named
Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
Mark 2 [14] And as he passed by, he saw
Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of
custom, and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
Luke
5 [27] And after these things he went forth,
and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said
unto him, Follow me. [28] And he left all,
rose up, and followed him.
Matt. 16 [24] Then said Yeshua unto his
disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his
cross, and follow me.
[25]
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his
life for my sake shall find it.
[26] For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and
lose his own soul? or
what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
[27] For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his
angels; and then he shall reward every man according to
his works.
Mark 8 [34] And when he had called the
people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come
after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
[35]
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his
life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
[36]
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his
own soul?
[37] Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
[38]
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words
in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be
ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
Mark 10
[17]
And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to
him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may
inherit eternal life?
[18] And Yeshua said unto him, Why callest
thou me good? there is
none good but one, that is, God.
[19] Thou knowest the
commandments, Do not
commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud
not, Honour thy
father and mother.
[20] And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I
observed from my youth.
[21]
Then Yeshua beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest:
go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to
the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross,
and follow me.
[22]
And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great
possessions.
[23] And Yeshua looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches
enter into the kingdom of God!
[24] And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Yeshua answereth
again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in
riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
[25] It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than
for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
[26] And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves,
Who then can be saved?
[27] And Yeshua looking upon them saith, With men
it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
[28] Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we
have left all, and have followed thee.
[29] And Yeshua answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no
man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or
wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
[30] But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and
brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions;
and in the world to come eternal life.
[31] But many that are first shall be last;
and the last first.
Luke 9 [23] And he said to them all, If
any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily,
and follow me.
[24]
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his
life for my sake, the same shall save it.
[25] For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the
whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
[26] For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall
the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his
Father's, and of the holy angels.
Luke 18
[15]
And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his
disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
[16] But Yeshua called them unto him, and said, Suffer
little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the
kingdom of God.
[17] Verily I say unto you, Whosoever
shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter
therein.
[18] And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do
to inherit eternal life?
[19] And Yeshua said unto him, Why callest
thou me good? none is
good, save one, that is, God.
[20] Thou knowest the
commandments, Do not
commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy
father and thy mother.
[21] And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
[22] Now when Yeshua heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing:
sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have
treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
[23]
And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
[24] And when Yeshua saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How
hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
[25] For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for
a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
[26] And they that heard it said, Who
then can be saved?
[27] And he said, The things which are impossible with men are
possible with God.
[28] Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
[29] And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man
that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the
kingdom of God's sake,
[30] Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world
to come life everlasting.

"a sower
went forth to sow"
Matt.
13
[1]
The same day went Yeshua out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
[2] And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he
went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
[3]
And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
[4]
And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side,
and the fowls came and devoured them up:
[5]
Some fell upon stony places,
where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had
no deepness of earth:
[6] And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no
root, they withered away.
[7]
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung
up, and choked them:
[8]
But other fell into good ground,
and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
[9]
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

[18]
Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
[19]
When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it
not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
[20]
But he that received the seed into stony places,
the same is he that heareth the
word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
[21] Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for
a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth
because of the word, by and by he is offended.
[22]
He also that received seed among the thorns is
he that heareth the
word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the
word, and he becometh unfruitful.
[23]
But he that received seed into the good ground is
he that heareth the
word, and understandeth it;
which also beareth
fruit, and bringeth
forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Luke
8
[1]
And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village,
preaching and shewing the
glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
[2] And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and
infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
[3] And Joanna the wife of Chuza
Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of
their substance.
[4]
And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every
city, he spake by a parable:
[5]
A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the
air devoured it.
[6]
And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was
sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
[7]
And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang
up with it, and choked it.
[8]
And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare
fruit an
hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let
him hear.

[11]
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
[12]
Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their
hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
[13]
They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word
with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of
temptation fall away.
[14]
And that which fell among thorns are
they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and
riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
[15]
But that on the good ground are they,
which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring
forth fruit with patience.
Mark 4
[1]
And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a
great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the
whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
[2] And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in
his doctrine,
[3]
Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
[4]
And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side,
and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
[5]
And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much
earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
[6] But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no
root, it withered away.
[7]
And some fell among thorns,
and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
[8] And other fell on good ground,
and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and
some sixty, and some an hundred.
[9] And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

"Remember Lot's wife"
Luke
17
[30]
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
[31]
In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house,
let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
[32]
Remember Lot's wife.
[33]
Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose
his life shall preserve it.
Let us "Remember Lot's wife" now
Gen.
19
[1]
And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom:
and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face
toward the ground;
[2] And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your
servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up
early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay;
but we will abide in the street all night.
[3] And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and
entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened
bread, and they did eat.
[4] But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of
Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every
quarter:
[5] And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which
came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
[6] And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
[7] And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
[8] Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I
pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes:
only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my
roof.
[9] And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one
fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse
with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and
came near to break the door.
[10] But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to
them, and shut to the door.
[11] And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with
blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the
door.
[12] And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law,
and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring
them out of this place:
[13] For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen
great before the face of Yehovah; and Yehovah hath sent us to destroy it.
[14] And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his
daughters, and said, Up,
get you out of this place; for Yehovah will destroy this city. But he seemed as
one that mocked unto his sons in law.
[15] And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying,
Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be
consumed in the iniquity of the city.
[16] And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and
upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; Yehovah
being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the
city.
[17] And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that
he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee,
neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be
consumed.
[18] And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my Lord:
[19] Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou
hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed
unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil
take me, and I die:
[20] Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one:
Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
[21] And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this
thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which
thou hast spoken.
[22] Haste thee,
escape thither; for I cannot do any thing
till thou be
come thither. Therefore the name of the city was
called Zoar.
[23] The sun was risen
upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
[24] Then Yehovah rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire
from Yehovah out of heaven;
[25] And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the
inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
[26] But his wife looked back from behind him, and she
became a pillar of salt.
[27] And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he
stood before Yehovah:
[28] And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of
the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke
of a furnace.
[29] And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain,
that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow,
when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot
dwelt.
[30] And Lot went up out of Zoar,
and dwelt in the mountain, and
his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar:
and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.

Peter
says:
2 Pet. 2 [20] For if after they have escaped the
pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Yeshua Messiah, they are again
entangled therein, and overcome,
the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
[21] For it had been better for them not to have
known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy
commandment delivered unto them.
[22]
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog
is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing
in the mire.
Prov. 26 [11] As a dog returneth to his vomit,
so a fool returneth to
his folly.

Sad,
some say 'It is vain to serve God"
Mal. 3 [14] Ye have said, It is
vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and
that we have walked mournfully before Yehovah of hosts?
------------------------
Ecc. 7 [8] Better is
the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is
better than the proud in spirit.
[9]
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in
the bosom of fools.
[10]
Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were
better than these? for
thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this.

Heb. 10
[35]
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of
reward.
[36]
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye
might receive the promise.
[37]
For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
[38]
Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my
soul shall have no pleasure in him.
(Hab. 2 [4] Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not
upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.)
[39]
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
